Kranjska Gora Hotels with Bars

Stay at the Ramada Resort Kranjska Gora hotel located in the heart of breathtaking Slovenia with views of the Julian Alps and delightful ski slopes nearby. Ski jumping at Planica snowboarding at Arnolstain Monte Lussari are nearby as well as a football field golf course river rafting mountain climbing tennis and even beach volleyball. Ice-skating downhill mountain biking and sledding are also nearby. Amenities include a mini club for children wellness facilities a pool and sauna steam room fitness facilities live entertainment dancing and even wine tasting. There are six flexible meeting rooms totaling 783-square-meters of space to accommodate up to 250 theater style or 150 for a sit-down banquet a business center and full-service restaurant and lounge. All guest rooms have a terrace for enjoying the lovely mountain views a flat screen TV with cable a mini bar and high speed internet access.

Firstly I'd prefer to put a 3.5 rating on our stay - but obviously can't. Be careful when booking a Ramada in Kranjska gora as there is also the Ramada resort just up the road (looks a bit more posh). First impressions were alot of families with alot of children all around the hotel and reception. Very busy and loud. Also be very careful with the room you book. Our first room was on the 2nd floor (280) in an area where the large open stairwell and lifts were situated. There was also a family-type open area here with comfy chairs (there is an area like this on all 3 floors) where people congregate, talk, play etc. Well, by 10.30pm I had to complain about the noise of the teenagers playing football, yelling and shouting in this area, effectively right outside our bedroom door! It wasn't a good introduction to the hotel after a day's travel. It eventually settled. The reception staff (I forget his name sorry) totally understood our complaint and the next day we were moved to the top floor in a much quieter and nicer room/suite (377). Aside from this, the breakfast and dinner are plentiful, varied and tasty and the staff are all very friendly, helpful and efficient. We didn't use the bar area. The hotel whilst we were there appeared mostly to be geared-up for families and school groups but this didn't stop us enjoying our stay. Kranjska gora is a beautiful town and the locals are all very friendly.

Absolutely fantastic location being a 2 minute walk from reception/ ski locker to the nearest ski school ski equipment hire and ski lifts . Large reception with friendly professional staff who are very helpful. Nice log fire and bar in reception area . Great buffet breakfast extensive choice of bacon sausages and fried eggs or boiled and scrambled options. Wide range of fruits cheeses cold cuts etc … Some wonderful local produce and we stayed 5 nights and the breakfast choice varied . The evening buffet was also good for those who don’t want to venture out . The rooms are spacious with good bathroom facilities. Baths bidets and showers ! Warm and quiet with comfy beds and the cleaning staff do a great job of keeping the rooms spotless ! The swimming pool and fitness centre were very clean . The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the old town centre with a wide range of restaurants a supermarket and post office nearby! A nice Christmas market and beautiful Christmas trees and decorations with plenty of snow makes Kranjska Gora and Hotel Kompas an ideal Christmas destination. Hotel Kompas is a great value 4* hotel .

This hotel deserves more than 3.5 stars on Tripadvisor... We booked directly and got a good price. We stayed in superior renovated room which was a good size, warm and with a nice renovated and spacious bathroom. The room 305 was overlooking the town and the slopes. The staff at the reception was super polite and client oriented, I would say that the service was impeccable. Breakfast - pretty good variety and fresh food, even with a choice of fresh fruit juices. Service at the breakfast not so great. Negative sides: 1. Parking - I had to pay for parking at another part of town for one day, the hotel could at least contract some discounts for that if they don't have enough parking slots. 2. Dinner buffet - for the price you pay for two you can have a 3x better meal in any of the really good restaurants around, with drinks included. Poor choice really.
