Room is lovely and big and there is a nice bath as well as a shower! However it is a long walk to the beach of about 30 minutes and as it was rainy season it rained a lot during my stay and unfortunately the hotel does not provide umbrellas which was disappointing. The staff are very friendly and the hotel faces a mountain which is nice and you do hear wildlife such as frogs at night. A decent hotel for the price and if you rent a scooter the location shouldn’t be an issue.

Another hotel pretending to be a resort.
More like a upmarket backpackers.
1. Safe in the room not working so you have to deposit your valuables at reception in their lockboxes.
2. Management is absent and never come.
3. The whole place is in need of a coat of paint, which will never happen.
4. No restaurant and no breakfast or any other meals.
They provide a toaster in the morning but also paper plates and cups and plastic knifes.
5. No tissues or bathrobe.
6. Towels are so old it was like drying yourself with cardboard.
I am sure there is more I could say but best just to advise you to avoid this place.

Excellent hotel, the room is very large. We had a double bed. Large bathroom. There is a shower and a bath. We booked without breakfast, but in the morning you could come for free to drink tea or coffee, make toast with butter or jam. Excellent pool, clean and warm. Small depth difference. The hotel is located far from the main pedestrian street, those without transport have to walk a long way. But the hotel has a shuttle.

We loved the staff, mainly the ladies at the reception, really adorable, the hotel has aged, on the other hand the bathroom and more recent, but considering the price we pay we should not complain and it need a means of transport, a shuttle takes us 3 times a day and then take a taxi back

Everything was perfect, nothing negative here. You have to walk to get to the waterfront but it is much quieter than the hotels on the main street.

After reading some reviews AFTER booking I was a little concerned ! No need . We had a lovely stay. We have stayed in Ao Nang on and off for 28 years and watched it grow from beautiful tranquility to tourist hell. Phu Petra was like stepping back in time . Lovely location , attentive helpful staff , big clean rooms. It's not a 5 star luxury resort. It is a 5 star typical southern Thai charm accomadation and HUGE value for money $600 australian dollars for 8 nights . Light free breakfast . Shuttle.bus to main Aonang . 5 min walk to some great quiet Thai family restaurants . Great pool area . Little.peace of Heaven in AoNang. Thankyou Phu Petra Amanda and Martin
