The environment is very good. In the river along the tent room, I saw crocodiles and hippos, which was very shocking. The service is also very good, but the facilities in the room are relatively old and watery.

Tented accomodation was 5star as well as food and service. Bird watchers paradise and close river views of animals both day and night. Attention to detail in the communal area is delightful. Highly recommend for tourists to Maasai Mara game reserve.

Fig Tree camp exceeded our expectations. If you want to be sleeping right next to the hippo family, ask for room T11! The view from the deck was amazing, you can see so much wildlife just from the room. And the balloon safaris fly right over head in the morning. We had very magical mornings sat drinking our coffee and watching the Mara wake up. The room was spotless, bed comfy and had everything you could need. The staff were so welcoming, food was tasty and they catered perfectly for us vegetarians. The location was perfect too. The safaris start from right within the park so no driving in and out every day. We had the perfect stay, and couldn’t have asked for anything more.

2nd time we have stayed at Fig Tree and cannot recommend enough, we have just returned from 7 days of pure safari. We can’t thank Sadera, Sheila , natalie and Mary at front of house for making us feel welcome once again. Sadera went above and beyond to make our trip exactly what we wanted. All the staff from Gidian, Ben , Moses and Paul to name just a few gave us A star treatment in the bar and restaurant. Last but not least Jonathan our guide who put up with 10/11 hour days to keep us happy . The sights and moments we seen will never be forgotten. If you visit the Mara the fig tree is highly recommended. WE WILL RETURN Lee ( Saruni) & Simon 😄

Stayed here for 4 nights during our honeymoon. Firstly most of the staff were absolutely incredible. So helpful and friendly. Only two occasions that weren't great: firstly on day one I was questioned on the room number i gave when trying to put drinks on our room at the bar because 'I'd come from the wrong direction'. Did not appreciate the accusation, could have checked with me in a better way than accusing me in a confrontational manner. Secondly on our last night I'd been ill for a few days and not eating much but came to dinner and planned to have something light. I was told by the waitress to 'sort myself out' and she seemed annoyed with me for being ill which was just lovely. This leads me to my only complaint with the place, the bottled water in the rooms isn't sealed new ones one but green glass reusable bottles and there needs to be covers over the food in the restaurant as lots of flies were about. This does not take away from the fact we also had incredible customer service, especially from Alvin in the restaurant, Jonathan our guide and Mary on reception. Jonathan managed to show us SO MANY animals it was incredible and we were so lucky! So grateful for his incredible guiding! We also loved doing the hot air balloon experience and the champagne breakfast in the Mara was the most incredible experience. Overall absolutely thrilled with our stay here.

Fig Tree Camp was quite nice in many ways and the filling and tasty food and attractive and colorful public space were fine. The fact that hot water and electricity are available only on scheduled hours and Wi-Fi only in the public spaces are things to be aware of, but were no problem for us. When we go on journeys such as this, we don’t expect everything to work as it does at home. The room, while fine enough, lacked a few things, but nothing significant – no sealed drinking water, closed head board, desk chair or in-room fan. Not having a sold ceiling would make a desirable ceiling fan more challenging, but they could have come up with another solution. Still, this was not really a problem for us since it wasn’t hot. And with our windows open (with screens) for fresh air, we could enjoy Hippo grunts and moans punctuating the cricket-blanketed silence. The sounds of the African night. And having our bungalow sitting alongside a small, muddy river with hippos and crocodiles lounging and swimming (and guards keeping them away from our shore) gave us far more delight than any minor inconvenience could diminish.
