The environment is great, the service attitude is first-class. He also helped to carry the boxes to the room, and the meals he prepared were also very good and were delivered to the room personally.

A very good accommodation experience. The shukubo of Jimeiin Koyasan is a place where you stay in a temple. If you choose a package that includes breakfast and dinner, the chef will deliver it to your room. There is a half-hour morning chanting class in the morning that you can participate in. You can also copy scriptures in the room.
Chimei-in is a small temple. The other guests are all Japanese, and many of them are old guests. As a foreigner, I am a bit dissatisfied.
The meal is very exquisite. The three types of tofu for dinner have their own flavors. Of course, there is no too elaborate presentation and decoration.

It was already late when we checked in. Fortunately, we booked a one-meal, two-night package. The master immediately prepared a very sumptuous dinner. After the morning class, breakfast was already prepared in the room. The environment was quiet.

Great experience! There is an inscription by Zhao Puchu, vice president of China-Japan Friendship Association, which is very touching. I attended the morning class at 6:30 in the morning. Many European and American foreigners also came to experience it.

Chimei-in has a history of more than 900 years, but there are many rooms in the shukubo. The room facilities are a bit simpler, with shared bathrooms, and breakfast and dinner are delivered to the room, which is quite delicious. The room is quite warm in winter. There is a beautiful garden in the inner courtyard. The view from the rooms facing the garden on the first floor is not too beautiful, but unfortunately ours is on the second floor. Above the end of a corridor in the temple, I unexpectedly saw the poems left by President Zhao Puchu when he came to Japan in 1985 to attend the commemoration of the 1150th anniversary of Kukai's entry into samadhi.

This is my first shukubo experience and I highly recommend it to Koyasan. It’s worth it. You can participate in scripture copying, morning classes, and bathing. You have to come back before 9:30 pm. The public bathroom has to go out of the room. It's a bit cold at night in winter. There is a heater in the room. Dinner and breakfast can be sent to the room or to a separate room, which is very atmospheric.
