Strandhotel Westduin

We stayed 14 days in this hotel + relatively modern rooms without carpets (round building, 1st floor above seminar rooms) + breakfast could also be taken to the room at no extra charge + for every day without a cleaning lady you have 5 € to eat in the restaurant/ Bar received + location, very close to the great beach with some beach restaurants + free large parking lot - incompetent, incompetent and sometimes very unfriendly and unprofessional staff (reception and restaurant) - despite booked stay incl. HB for 2 adults and 1 child, has that Child did not get dinner included - very, very hard mattresses and uncomfortable bed - half board is not recommended, you can choose between about 5 dishes per course, with about 3 dishes with extra charge, despite half board. For example, you pay €2 more for a burger WITH meat despite having booked half board. The small menu does not change, no matter how long the stay is. + Thank God we were allowed to cancel dinner for 8 days, there just wasn't enough choice for us. Starters and desserts were great, main courses were mediocre. - Due to the canceled dinner and the waiver of the cleaning lady, we had to get back more than 400€ at the end of the stay (at check-in, the entire trip including all days half board was already paid for). Unfortunately, they only wanted to give us something over 100 euros at check out, after a long time reckoning and explaining that the bill was incorrect, we were unprofessionally criticized and treated very unfriendly with eye-rolling, etc. In the end, the mistake was finally acknowledged with a smile and after 30 minutes of discussion, we were finally given our money back - not particularly child-friendly - swimming pool totally dirty (we didn't visit any other facilities such as a gym, massage, etc.)

Very nice hotel, well located with a very good restaurant. Paid parking available. Close to the sea wall and the beach. The bedroom and bathroom are minimalist. Pantagruelian breakfast.

Weer een paar dagen in het gezelligste hotel van zeeland verbleven. Alles is er top mooie kamer die heel erg proper was vriendelijke bediening ĺekker eten in het restaurant bij Jules. Heel uitgebreid ontbijt keuze in overvloed. Heel ruime parking gratis voor de hotelgasten. Hier komen we al jaren graag weer naar toe. ☆☆☆☆☆

7 Nächte, Junior Suite (280€/Nacht/August 2024), gute Lage direkt hinter der Düne, langer Strand mit Pavillons zum Einkehren, 80er Jahre Hotel (wirkt nicht modern und wirkt „abgewohnt“), Holzbretter überall: in den Gängen, im Essraum und im Empfang (Stil des Hauses, wirft die Frage des wirklichen Brandschutzes auf); das Frühstück ist normal; die Sessel im Essraum unbequem; die Zimmerhöhe ist sehr niedrig und das Apartment deshalb schummerig, aus dem Bad roch es leicht modrig, das Bad war modern; guter Zimmerservice (Saubermachen), Mini-Mini-Balkon; noch nie in einem Hotel so etwas gesehen: alle Zimmertüren zeigen schwarz-weiss Bilder von minirockbekleideten Beinen offensichtlich junger Frauen mit den Zimmernummer (das wirkte recht eigenartig), das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis erscheint uns nicht ausgewogen, kostenloser Parkplatz, kein Schwimmbad, echt hohe Zimmerpreise. Empfehlung: man muss die Erwartungen an das Hotel sehr reduzieren und über Vieles hinwegsehen wollen; und sich auf die wunderbare Lage an der Nordsee ausrichten.
