The hotel is not far from the station and there is a hotel shuttle bus, which is very convenient. On the way from the station to the hotel, there is a shopping street, which is very easy to shop. Both breakfast and dinner are buffets. The public baths and private baths are both very good and highly recommended.

We drove to the hotel and found it a bit tricky to find the entrance. Some signs aimed at foreign visitors would be helpful. Once there, however, we had a delightful experience. This is a lovely old property, very close to the entrance to the Kompira shrine. Our Japanese-style room was large and comfortable, and we were delighted with the bath facilities. Dinner and breakfast and a welcome cocktail all were included and the meals were truly excellent. Highly recommended!

This is an onsen hotel that caters to Chinese-speakers I think. Upon entering, I was greeted in Mandarin by one of the two hostesses. One is from Kwangtung and the other is from Taiwan. The more I know about this ryokan, the more I like it. We stayed two nights in room #1902 with a view of town and Western-style beds (though I didn't see any Westerners as guests). I immediately went to the men's onsen for 15 min -- very nice. Just outside the entrance begins a very busy pedestrian shopping street that ramps up to a Shrine with 400+ steps which I didn't attempt. The food served at breakfast and kaiseki dinner are outstanding. This is where Sakura shines. For Chinese guests, there are Chinese noodles and xiao lung bao. You can make your own udon bowl. Etsuko was our very excellent server at dinner. I couldn't find coffee before breakfast. There are no 7-11, Family Mart, or Lawson's nearby. I'd return for the food alone. Yum!

The room was small. We stayed with four people and there were two beds and two futons, but it was a small room where we could barely pull out the futons. Also, there seemed to be a room with a bath of the same grade, so we requested that, but even though we went with our family, we ended up with a room with a couple's seat. Moreover, we chose a room with a view from the window, but the road was right there, and the building was built on a slope, so the room was completely visible to pedestrians. We spent the whole time with the blinds down. It's a shame. Even though the price was the same, the room layout and content seemed to be very different, so I think it would be unfair if the price didn't have a larger gradient.

It is located on the 22nd step of the stairs to Konpira Shrine, and you can feel like you've climbed the 22 steps. It was a wonderful trip with a bath and dinner to soothe your fatigue after visiting the shrine. The bath also had a large bath, sauna, and open-air bath, and on the bath floor there was a tasting of local sake and free ice cream. Both were great after a bath.
