Excellent location with many shops around. The busiest mall, Imago shopping mall is just a 10-minute walk. The hotel is equipped with a shared kitchen, washer and dryer. The room is clean. Check-in and out is easy with the instructions given.

I love this place! From the outside, it looks sketchy but it was great after i checked in. The door and electricity were keycard-activated. I love that the bathroom looked well-maintained. There was water heater in the shower, bidet, and even hair dryer. In the room there was a spare chair for when you have to work, a wardrobe, with the safety box inside. There were enough sockets. There was also water heater for drinking water to use for the free coffee sachets. THERE WAS A FRIDGE IN THE ROOM!!! The location was nice because it was near the waterfront but not too near, like a 10min walk. There were food options just outside the hotel.

Love the ambiance of the lobby and the room. The lobby smells great too.
They have their own cafe however as of this writing it's under renovation.
Location- for those who will stay indoors most of the time this is ideal. However, if you wish to visit night markets and other tourist spot, you can book their other branch near gaya street.
Easy to get grab, fare range from 5myr-15myr to malls , gaya street, jesselton quay etc.
Plus points to all the staff who are very attentive to your concerns, they are one chat away. Very generous also in providing bottled water

Really bad staff - they spoke really bad English and they weren’t helpful at all .
The door of the restaurant says open until 11pm , I arrived before 9.30pm , reed the menu and then when I was about to order they said the restaurant closes at 10pm and they don’t serve after 9.30pm. I’ve checked the watch and it was 9.32pm - and all they said was “sorry sir” with a smirk on their faces
Next day I asked I went to the concierge for some tips regarding the tour to see the Proboscis monkeys and he couldn’t explain anything at all. Also asked for some recommendations regarding where I could have a good steak he couldn’t also advise a restaurant.
Finally i put the car in the reception.
No one explained how the system worked. I had to wait for someone that spoke proper English to come and explain.
If I was in a 2 star lodge in the middle of nowhere I could understand such a bad staff but this was in a 4 star hotel in the capital of Sabah

If you are still looking for a good hotel, I highly recommend travelers to come to this hotel. The counter staff is very polite in front of a smile, and the hall is also very spacious and comfortable. They will also be very polite to take your luggage. The most important thing is that this place is very convenient to go anywhere. The room is very clean and hygienic. I am very satisfied with this place. I give it 10/10 .I will come here again next time.

SStachioI had a wonderful stay at Shangri-la Tanjung Aru in Kota Kinabalu. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast and easy.
The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was soft, and I slept well. I also enjoyed the beautiful view from my window.
Breakfast had many delicious choices. The on-site restaurant served tasty food.
The hotel had great facilities and the location was perfect, close to beautiful bench.
Overall, I had a great experience. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay again.

EErlingsanPromenade Hotel is among the classic good (4*-5*) hotels in Kota Kinabalu. Classic also means it shows the signs of ageing, probably they will need to refurbish the rooms sooner or later.
Others then that the check in was very efficient, they have like 4-5 counters, and nice staff with good English and some with Chinese speaking abilities.
The breakfast was fine, selection decent. During our two night stay most of the guests were from South Korea.
It's recommended to have your own car or use Grab, because it's a bit far from main tourist hubs. Just halfway between Gaya street and Imago. Afternoons, Evenings KK traffic can be very terrible, from Gaya st to Promenade hotel - normally 5-10 mins short drive took almost one hour, but that's not the hotels fault, but location can be a problem during busy hours.

SSoloWondersSecond time staying here. This time I had the chance to explore the surroundings and the city.
Hotel is still in pretty good shape. Hotel staff absolutely wonderful: polite and friendly.
Hotel room is super clean - and I got overly happy to find out that one of the earring locks I had dropped was found by the cleaning lady without me having to ask!!!
The hotel is close to a night market with many delicious food stalls and great restaurants with fresh sea food, cafés and supermarkets like Servay and Bataras, and even to polyclinics, in case you need.
On my last night I went for a foot massage in one of the parlours above the building on the right hand side and wow! This is definitely my place to stay in KK!!!

OOn cloud 9The hotel smells good. The room is spacious with plenty of chair to sit. They provide basic amenities. Checkin and checkout process was smooth.
The only minor is the bed is in front of the door. So it’s not comfortable to sleep.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel staff told us the room we book not ready for customer yet (Maybe the need to do some inspections first before selling the room bcause this hotel is consider as a new building, minor half this building still under construction). Then, we got a new room ( i think it's listed as premier bed king/queen size with seaview). VVinnnzI booked 1 bedroom sea view spa suite apartment. It was located on the 5 floors. I brought one toodler, how scary it is. But worry not, the balcony got grill and sliding door glass.
Very comfortable, and foods is good. Eventho pricey. The is basic kitchen utensil, can cook.
