The new door entry system is the worst I’ve ever experienced. You are only allowed 1 card per room even when you have 3 people in a room meaning if one of you wants to stay out at night you have to knock your family up to get in or wedge the door open with something which is not ideal.

I have been going to the Classic for many many years initially with my 2 boys when they were younger and with my mum as they grew up and then as a solo traveller, I have always had a great time. This year after being remarried i wanted to take my husband to my special place as it was not only my 60th birthday but our 1st Anniversary. Upon entering it was like coming home again, the formalities over with we went to our room, I was somewhat disappointed that it was a front room overlooking the bins outside but hey you dont come to sit and look at them. Problem no 1 only 2 sockets, one at my side of the bed and curiously one half way up the wall outside the bathroom. Went downstairs to the bar as it was after 12 and was stunned to find no one else there, only a disinterested 18 year old serving. Ach well had a couple of drinks and then hit the sack. Must admit the beds are none too comfortable, a bit too hard and got another pillow the next day. Didnt make breakfast for the first couple of days cos hubby and i were pretending we were yungins again lol. Finally made it down to breakfast and was disappointed, same old stuff as years gone by, but this time noticed the bread was always hard and stale or uncovered, the cucumber and tomato was the same uncovered, flies about, cake was wrapped in cling film and dry, fruit was sitting in a basket consisting of some hard pears and some apples.. not very appetising and certainly a breach in health and safety with uncovered items. In addition, the bathroom we had was grotty and filthy dirty, the inadequate towel rail hit me in the head twice and the drain cover was loose however this was rectified but could have caused a serious injury to a child if they had stood on it. We had ants coming up the drain, hubby fixed that with some bleach. The toilet didnt flush properly thank good for hubby again who also fixed this. Outside areas are grubby and the loungers and pads have seen their day. When i asked re the refurbishment of the kris mari and superior having new beds and parasols i was told the classic wouldnt be upgraded as "the customers like it that way" really !! There were weeds all around the upkeep of the hedging had not been attended to for a long time. Watched to so called pool man clean the pool with his net and then instead of emptying net into the bin he just put it on top of the toilet block again. The bar has no atmosphere the bar man sat in the corner rolling cigarettes or on his phone or his friends came and they sat at the end of the bar talking. The pool table has rips on the cloth. Anna during the day was lovely though and she always had a smile for everyone. The dining area reminded me of the desks at school all dark wood and facing one way. The ice cream unit had no safety covers at back, any child inadvertantly having there fingers there if someone opens the chest would have a serious injury. I love kardamena its got a special place in my heart however i wont be return

First time to Kardamena for myself and 10 other members of my family. Hotel basic - but no issues. Staff were exceptionally helpful, had a family member who booked on the holiday late and had to book in at the Kris Marie due to Classic having no rooms left, however, on arrival the assistant manager checked us in and offered to transfer the 1 family member over to the classic so that we were all together. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, Anna and Georgina went above and beyond every single day we were there. All the staff work very long hours, each day you see the same people, they never seem to go home - even on their days off they are at the hotel helping out. Only downside that we had was having to go over to the Kris Marie hotel each night for our evening meal (we were half board). There was only 3 people taking orders and bringing out drinks and food. Raphail (think that’s how it’s spelt) was excellent, he overseen that everything ran as smoothly as it could under his control. Some nights we waited over an hour for food, plus side was that each meal was cooked fresh - and plenty of it. I think once they sort out the evening meal side of things it will be much better. Our first time to cleopatra classic so nothing to compare it to previously- but on first impressions we were very happy. Rooms basic, get what you pay for. Hotel small and personal, not busy therefore better without the hustle and bustle.

Had a great time at this hotel. There were 9 of us we booked half board big mistake sorry Jani but you should be ashamed with the evening menu on offer and the explanation of how the way eating of the regular menu worked.it states 12 euros per adult and anything over you payed the difference it didn't say both people in a shared room had to have it and it wasn't very good food anyway and you had to go to the Krissy marie for it , That said so the good about the classic brooms in the hotel bit were great beds were very comfy and cleanstaff did a grand job. Breakfast typical continental was OK. The pool area and pool was clean and tidycould do with a update on the loungers and more umbrellas. Have to say the best thing about this hotel ii the staff Vall on the the bar was good fun and made it a pleasure to be round the pool. And Georgina who worked from 11pm and was still there serving breakfast

When we arrived there was a mix up with the room as we needed single bed (due to dad and daughter going away) and ended up with a double bed (not a good start) it was a good job that we went as a group and we could swap with another member of that group. The room when we moved was great. Just what you wanted: the bathroom was acceptable and clean, the room was clean and tidy, and the cleaner cleaned most days. The pool bottom at shallow end was slippy when you stood up. Some of the loungers were broke and could do with replacing as well as the outside of the hotel could do with refreshing with paint. We went half board, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed with it? I am a bit of a fussy eater and only ended up with toast and a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast. So eventually ended up going out for breakfast at a cafe round the corner. The evening meal was from a menu and very limited choice. So again, we eventually ended up going out for tea. I do have to say that the staff, Valarious, Tina, and Georgina, made our holiday, they were so helpful, friendly and have excellent customer services. They spent time with us and made us feel so welcome. I even ended up having Greek speaking lessons with Georgina most night, learning the pronunciation of the words. Overall, I had a wonderful holiday, and I would go back (but would go back for the people working there). I loved Kardimaina as a place. It is so beautiful. I came away so relaxed and chilled

I pride myself on writing honest reviews so I was disappointed to have been influenced by the ones I read before booking this hotel. Initially thought one star, as the week progressed began to think two but overall decision is one star. Only once I was checking in was I told I would be eating in another hotel. A definite ‘no no’ for me. As a single traveller, not only do I enjoy the socialising in the dining room but it gives me the opportunity to eat a wider menu than I would have access to at home. No such luck here! A menu headed ‘Half board menu’ offered a very restricted choice. Starter…..salad or salad Mains…..mainly pasta, couple of Greek dishes, no fish options Dessert….Greek yoghurt or fresh fruit. The latter was an apple, peeled and chopped with a couple of orange segments The quality of food was dire, I had to eat in isolation in a soulless dining area. I tried for three nights and abandoned the experience’. Complained to Tui. Hotel Management stepped in….outcome not worthy of a mention so ate in local restaurants for remaining four nights. Air conditioning cost 9 euros per night so a hefty price hike when travelling alone considering we already pay a single supplement. Room was spacious but desperately in need of an update. Television…..but Greek channels. Fridge was handy. The bathroom was lethal. Due to having a square shower tray, but a curtain pole going across the room, the water dripped all over and the floor became soaked. The bath mat did little to help. Towels and bed linen changed as in any other two star hotel. I had a couple of infestations of ants….not unusual in a hot country. First time, the room was simply re-cleaned. The night before I returned home, the ants were everywhere…even on the bed. Despite reporting this at around 4pm, it was after 7pm before maintenance arrived. By that time, I’d used almost half a bottle of perfume to remove as many as I could before they disappeared under the wooden furniture. Pool area has many sun beds, all of which are well past their ‘sell by date’. The pool could do with being cleaned a lot more often, too. Pool bar serves drinks but food is brought from one of the sister hotels. Must admit that the chips served were in a different league to those on the ‘half board menu’…..hot and freshly cooked rather than shrivelled and re-heated. Breakfast did not appeal to me despite eating Greek breakfasts on many occasions. Fairly stodgy bread that became ‘warm’ if using the archaic toaster. Communal pots of jam, honey and chocolate spread which, by the end of my stay, had rims with hardened contents. Would it be too much trouble to empty these daily, wash and refill, even if putting the same contents back or provide individual packs similar to the butter? Tinned peaches and yoghurt seemed to be popular. However, flies hovering and landing on the other uncovered food didn’t inspire me to sample. Watery fruit juice available. Coffee from a machine. There’s a communal lounge area with Sky News

Fantastic week at this hotel. The staff really are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Room was very spacious and cleaned daily. We stayed in 318 which had a lounge room with small fridge and separate large bedroom and large balcony overlooking the pool.

I pride myself on writing very honest reviews. For that reason, I was influenced by what I read and booked for that reason. Wrong decision! Initially, I gave this hotel one star. As the week passed, I thought , maybe two stars at the most. My final decision is one star…..fridge and, unlike so many Greek properties, a shower curtain. What I witnessed, and many I spoke to agreed with me, are various ‘cliques’. People who have been going for many years, staying, as one couple do, a month at a time, twice a year. I overheard people arranging the same dates for next year. These are the ones, in my humble opinion, who feel this hotel is worthy of high ratings….they are greeted and lauded like long lost family…..stay by the pool for most of the day, spend lots of money at the pool bar. Yes, there are a couple of members of staff who are genuinely friendly but that does not hide the ‘issues’ that need addressing. The rooms are spacious, have a fridge and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is lethal! No matter how many different ways I tried to shower, it was absolutely impossible not to soak the floor. I slipped twice, fortunately not hurting myself, but I am surprised there haven’t been more accidents. The fault lies with the fact there is a square shower tray but a curtain that goes across a pole. Hence, water pours down the curtain and drips into pools on the floor. Towels are changed frequently but there is nowhere to dry any that become sopping wet. Breakfast is typically Greek…..However, what I disliked was having communal pots of jam, honey and chocolate spread. By the end of my week, there was a solid sticky rim around the top of the containers. Single butters are provided so why not the same for the spreads? Bread can be ‘toasted’ but, more often than not, was warm bread. The toaster is archaic. Some food is covered but flies did hover around that left open. Fruit juice seemed quite watery and coffee was available from a machine. If booking half board, be aware that you have to go to another sister hotel to eat your evening meal. I didn’t know this until I arrived. Initially not a big problem……until the first night. My past experiences have meant a choice of appetising starters, various main courses and, usually, succulent desserts along with the opportunity to socialise and mingle with fellow guests. Not so. I walked into a soulless area to discover I was eating alone. I was presented with a menu headed ‘Half board menu’. I won’t further bore with the details other than to say I lasted three nights…..the choice and food itself were dire. My complaint reached ‘management’…….not even worthy of comment. Suffice to say I ate out for the remaining four nights. Finally, I had invasions of ants on a couple of occasions. Hardly surprising in a hot country, however, the ineffective way the situation was handled was a concern. Initially, I was told the room had been re-cleaned and the problem resolved. Not so! On my final day, busy packing, ants appeared in
