Such a great time. The hotel and staff were delightful. The rooms were amazing. Plenty of snugs to chill out. Most of furniture is white/cream so seems very luxurious. So much thought into making the stay so pleasurable. Food very good. Wide selection. We are coming back! Old Kos Town and Therma spa just a 2 euro bus ride away. So easy. It’s basically one road to Kos and Therma.

We visited as a family, with our 9 month old baby, which was probably an error. I’d recommend this hotel for adults, but not for children. The positives- the staff were fantastic with our son, and even the cleaners knew him by name and made a fuss of him whenever they saw him, and the staff in the main restaurant- Suella, Armanda and Renato especially, made his holiday and took him for a tour of the restaurant and entertained him every mealtime. The hotel itself is nice, very clean, and we had no complaints about the food or drinks, even if the staff in the a la carte restaurants were a bit miserable. Beautiful views, and only a 10 minute bus ride to the beautiful Kos Town. Negatives- these are only really because it’s not as family friendly as we were hoping- it was advertised on the TUI website as a 40 minute transfer from the airport- in reality it was 1hr 40 and there was 12 stops before ours. The pool was also far too cold for children, so we ended up buying a paddling pool for our boy to splash around in which was small enough for the sun to warm it up. The beach is very rocky/pebbles, which the hotel obviously have no control over either- but that said, when you did manage to manoeuvre yourself into the sea, the snorkelling was very good. To sum it up, we would not return as a family, however if we had visited as a couple, we would have had a fantastic time and probably return.

I have been in Dimitra with my family, for 7 days. Had a good time, but I wanted to write detailed and honest review, hopefully it can help both future clients and hotel. Some of my thoughts are below. Reception/Arrival Upon arriving at Dimitra Beach Resort, guests are greeted with a welcome drink, and the check-in process is efficient. A golf cart is available to escort you to your room and handle your luggage, which adds a nice touch to the overall experience. All-Inclusive Bars The resort features four all-inclusive bars, and generally, there is little to no wait in line. The selection of drinks is decent but falls short of a 5-star rating. The whiskey served is Cutty Sark, the gin is Gordon's, and the Metaxa is only 3-star. Soft drinks are dispensed from a machine but are of good quality (Coca-Cola). One downside is that three out of four bars serve drinks in paper cups, which don't hold liquid well for long periods. Ice is also often lacking. On two consecutive days, the bar near the adults-only area ran out of Ouzo, even though other bars in the resort had it in stock. The bartenders are hit or miss; some are friendly, while others appear indifferent. During the evenings, drinks are only available at the main bar, where they are served in proper glasses. However, the service is slow, and the staff often seem more interested in chatting with each other than attending to guests. You may want to get your drinks yourself, despite having paid for this service. Restaurants Breakfast and lunch are served in the main restaurant and the Greek restaurant by the pool and beach. Dinner, however, is only served in the main restaurant in two shifts (6:30 PM - 7:45 PM and 8:15 PM - 9:30 PM), as the restaurant isn't large enough to accommodate all guests at once. Seating is free, both indoors and on the terrace. However, the air conditioning in the main restaurant is ineffective due to constantly open doors, while in the food area, it works fine. The Greek restaurant offers only outdoor seating with no air conditioning, which might be uncomfortable for some. Breakfast is similar in both restaurants, but lunch offers more variety in the main restaurant. The Greek restaurant serves more beach club-style food. Unfortunately, the food quality is far from 5-star. Missing items include freshly squeezed orange juice, lemonade, tomato juice, a variety of cheeses, and fish options like tuna, sardines, and salmon. Only filter coffee is available during breakfast, with no options for espresso or cappuccino. If you arrive close to the end of breakfast service, expect to find only leftovers, as fresh food and fruit are not replenished. Clean glasses for self-service drinks are frequently in short supply. Lunch and dinner often feature the same dishes, just prepared differently. While there's plenty of food, don't expect à la carte quality. There’s always a selection of meat, fish, and vegetables, and kids can find staples like pasta, French fries, and meatballs. Sal

We had a family suite, overlooking the beach and pool, as well as Turkey!! Beautiful hotel, well designed, gorgeous rooms. Special thanks to George Sevastir night reception, so helpful and kind. Our cleaner was amazing, and very high class molton brown products were replenished regularly. We were half board as it suited us to eat out, we were able to swap one evening meal for a lunch and I think it would be better if there was an option to do this more often or to just have bed and breakfast. The al a carte restaurants were OK, we found the Italian to be the nicest. We were happy getting on the bus and found the buses to be regular and cheap. We also hired a car for the day This is a superb hotel xx

We have just arrived home from our week stay at this hotel and all I can say is it is certainly not 5*. If you are after a quiet hotel with lots of pool options, a nice view and a comfy bed then this place is for you. Pros - The hotel does have access to 3 decent pools, all a good temp, good size and good location with nice views. There was never a struggle to get a sunbed or reservation of beds going on which was nice not to have to get up at the crack of dawn. The only staff we found attentive and helpful were the lads at the pool bar which was a shame but nice to have staff that liked their job and were happy to help you at the place we spent most of our time. The hotel also offered good evening entrainment which was one of the better things about the holiday. It started at 9 which in our opinion was a bit late but nevertheless was always something decent. The room was also nice, has a decent sized shower which was always hot and never lacked pressure. The air con in the room was also very good and you were able to leave it on all the time which was also nice to have. We would highly recommend the Italian a la carte restaurant we had a lovely 3 course meal there Cons - First of all do not expect good food. It is shocking. Bland, cold, lack of choice and boring. The all inclusive buffet is shocking as is the drinks selections. 3 mocktails, 1 type of beer and only 1 choice of dry wine is not acceptable for a 5* all inclusive resort. I cannot drink alcohol and lost count the amount of times I ordered a mocktail and received a cocktail with alcohol in it. The Greek a la carte was not worth a visit. The staff were rude, most of the food was still buffet and some of the menu you had to pay extra for! The staff are beyond rude at the buffet, drinks were never offered (even when we asked for a drink they never arrived), clearly not happy in their jobs and don’t want to be there (talking amongst themselves instead of serving drinks, clearing plates etc). When it comes to the room it was clean and modern with a comfy bed. However the walls and ceilings are like paper. We were constantly hearing stomping and banging from the room above and both rooms beside us. We also had a few bugs in our room which was a bit untoward, could cope with the occasional bug on the curtain but when they were appearing in our half eaten bag of sweets/crisps we weren’t too impressed. Finally the last point which we were hugely disappointed with was the fact all of our white swimwear and my blonde hair has gone GREEN. The chlorine is clearly way too strong in the pools and has totally dyed everything green. If you’re blonde or planning on going in the pool in white swimwear I wouldn’t get your hair wet and wear dark clothing! Overall we will not be returning and would urge future guests to think carefully about visiting this hotel as it’s certainly not 5* or worth the amount of money you pay.

Well absolutely stunning place. If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place to go. It’s kept spotlessly clean our room was 616 and had a lovely sea view of the Turkish coastline and watched boats go up and down. The beach is nice but not for the infirm as it’s not sandy and very stoney. Now to the important bits room kept amazingly clean and bed done every day. Our cleaning lady was so friendly and nothing to much trouble. The bar staff very attentive and although sometimes when busy it took a while to get served always done with a smile. Food was very good for all inclusive lots of choice but could have been hotter. The gentleman who served us every morning Annastatiss was very funny and always helpful a credit to your team. Now a gripe when a hotel says all inclusive then the food at the pool bar as in the Italian a la carte should be free not charge us for burgers chips and pizza etc. Also brand drinks should also be in the all inclusive these are minor moans but important when paying a lot of money for a holiday. Dimitra Beach we will be back as it’s such a lovely place just improve the little bits and it’s a top notch place. Also maybe a good suggestion on cloudy days maybe provide a private shuttle to Kos Town maybe 15 euros per room as trying to get a bus is impossible good money and feed back it will get if implemented. Do not let standards drop a superb place and location and will be back. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Spent 9 nights AI at the Dimitra Beach and overall it was good. I can't class this as a 5* due to a few things I'll mention below. We arrived late evening and were shown to our Deluxe Suite, Sea View (Junior) room 803 which is classed as 1 bedroom. Basically the other bed is a pull out sofa bed as you walk in the door. Room and view were good but the first annoying thing was the minibar. Soft drinks and 1 beer for 2 people with no wine at all. Ended up buying my own from the mini market as i like a few beers each night on the balcony. You don't expect this from 5* and all it will do is cause complaints like this. Only other complaint was no toilet rolls left for 2 days so had to ask reception which then resulted in a quick response. Food for me felt very repetitive and can only say it was ok. No complaints for breakfast except the cheap orange/apple/pineapple juices but Lunch/Dinner was take it or leave it. We ended up going out 3 nights into Kos town because of this. Big shoutout though to Anastasis in the restaurant as he really looked after us and was always smiling. Went in Greek & Italian which again were ok but had 2 visits to Greek as the first time resulted in stone cold lamb shanks. Get on the app as soon as you arrive as it was the 3rd night before we had any chance of 8pm booking. Lot's of steps at this place especially from our room to restaurant and beach so prepare for this in extreme heat. Taxi's are pretty useless coming to hotel and ended up having to book a private one in hotel which works out per room at 25euros to Kos town. We were at the top pool pretty much all of the time and staff up there were great. Topping up drinks and clearing empties to keep things looking nice. Very windy whilst we were there which really helped when in mid 30's heat. My wife booked a spa next door at the sister hotel Michelangelo which was pretty good. Did mean to jump in the fantastic looking infinity pool but never did. Overall we had a good time but doubt we would return.

We have just returned from 7 amazing days in a beachfront bungalow at Dimitra. Last September we stayed at the sister hotel Michaelangelo and were concerned Dimitra wouldn't be able to live up to that. But it did, hugely. From the incredible warm welcome from the chap at reception (sorry forgot your name) to the service in the main restaurant and the charming Lilly at the main bar we were so impressed with how efficient everything was. No queues in the restaurant, swift drinks orders at all the bars. The cheery hellos from the cleaning team and the friendly maintenance guy who fixed our safe when we messed up the code all made our stay so memorable. And then the views, and the beach - perfection - even during the very hot weather we experienced. Only minor disappointment was the Greek al a carte restaurant, slow service and far too loud live violinist (food lovely though!). Thanks also for the late check out organised at very short notice as we couldn't decide what to do (quite expensive for a short period) but well worth it to have final sea swims and freshen up before our flight home. We can't wait to come back again. Already missing my new favourite cocktail Basil Smash. Yamas!

As a family of 5, we stayed for a week and feel fortunate to say we had a great time despite the hotel. Rooms are very comfortable, the view is stunning etc etc. This is not close to a 5* resort. Here is a summary of why: Facilities do not meet the criteria for 5*. The tennis courts didn't look like they had been used in years and the spa was little more than an awning and a fold out bed by one of the pools. The staff are mostly very unfriendly, unapproachable and bored looking. As in other reviews, the top pool seemed to have good and friendly staff. And we felt that a couple of the evening bar staff were quite good. The reception staff were also generally helpful. BUT this is a tiny proportion of the waiting & cleaning staff. The rest were awful. The Italian a la carte restaurant is hands down the worst Italian meal I have ever eaten. The children's entertainment is virtually nonexistent. The evening entertainment was weirdly amateurish and quite entertaining for the wrong reasons. If you do want to book the 2 free meals you get at the a la carte restaurants, you can't because they will already be fully booked for the week you are there. Having said that, see my comment above. The food in the main buffet restaurants was ok. BUT be warned!! We, and other families that were staying at the hotel had severe cases of Salmonella poisoning. We think this was likely from poor food hygiene at the pool bar by the childrens pool, but could have been from anywhere. Although we were lucky to get away with a mild case of Gastroentiritis for my son, we are still in contact with other guests who had their child spend more than a week in hospital after staying at this particular hotel. The hotel of course has so far denied all knowledge of any illnesses spread via their poor food hygiene.
