What a wonderful hotel , the staff were wonderful and attentive ( too many to mention but you know who you are ) , food was amazing with a wide choice to cater for all tastes and the pool areas were clean with plenty of sun beds whatever the time of the day .( no mad dash in the morning at 6 am to bag a bed ) . Rooms were modern and serviced every day ( tip - put your towels on the shower floor if you want changed every day ) . We had room 401 which was a ground floor room with a quiet aspect . 30 minute walk into Kos town and we usually got a taxi back at €8 or you can get the bus. Booked hire car locally and travelled around the island . Zia is a must to visit and the thermal springs 10/15 minute drive away were amazing . Will definitely return to the hotel the future .

Revisited this hotel after a 5 year break. It is still as lovely as ever. Food is very good with great choices for breakfast and dinner. They have moved the restaurant around and it is now much easier to serve yourself. I did miss the coffee man/ woman in the morning as now have nespresso machines that took a while to serve you. Shame also that you can’t have waffles/pancakes made for you anymore as before. Minor things tbh Room was very comfortable (385) overlooking garden with a side seat view. Sun in the afternoon. Whirlpool bath and good shower. Towels changed everyday and bedding every other. Air con worked well. Pool is very good. With activities if you wanted them. The water polo was very feisty but fun. Recommend a trip to Nisyros to see the volcano and Kis Town. We rented push bikes and a car from ‘Safe Wheels’ down the hill from the hotel. Will definitely come back again.

It was a fabulous Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was great and we had a great view of the pool from our balcony. The pools and the grounds were lovely, plenty of sun beds for relaxing. The food was very good, plenty of variety and most of the tables for the restaurant were outdoors which was lovely. There is a small private beach nearby. There were buses into town but they were not very reliable and very infrequent. We walked into Kos several times and it was a 35min walk to the main harbour. It was a lovely walk as was mostly by the sea and you could stop off and rest at the many taverna's along the way. Just down from the Hotel you could rent a bike for as little as 5 euro a day and it was a super cycle into Kos along a cycle path. We had such a a lovely holiday and really enjoyed our stay in the Platonista. Would highly recommend it.

Our stay at the Platanista exceeded our expectations. The entire hotel is extremely well maintained. The room & bathroom was modern, clean, comfortable and was generous is size. Our first floor room had a really large balcony with table and chairs. The room was cleaned and towels changed every day by a really friendly lady. Our stay was on a half board basis. The food for breakfast and dinner was excellent. The buffet dishes were always of high quality and regularly replenished. The hotel caters for lots of people of many different nationalities. Despite this, they maintain high standards in the kitchen and I would say satisfy the needs of all their guests! The staff work tirelessly, are very friendly and attentive. There were daily activities organized by Misha and Greta. These included tennis, morning stretching, aqua aerobics, mini golf, water polo etc... The girls also organized the evening entertainment. This included Greek music & dancing, quizzes, and other acts. There was no pressure for guests to participate in the day time or evening activities, but everyone had great fun. It was well organized and with great gusto! The hotel was a 15-20 minute walk from Kos town. It was in a quiet location off the main road. The entire island was easily accessible by car.

We started our holiday at The Platanista Hotel on the 31st August. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Friendly reception staff on arrival. Our room was a ground floor terrace which was tucked in the corner so our only view was the hotel courtyard. Found the room slightly on the small side though it was modern and the beds were very comfortable, with a large walk in shower room . We stayed half board , the food was splendid and there was plenty of choice Two excellent swimming pools with a bar and snack bar. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols due to the no towel reserve policy of the hotel. The pools were never overcrowded . It is about two hundred meters to the private beach where there is free sunbeds and parasols and always plenty of room there too. The buses did not seem to run to the timetable but there is a bicycle hire on the site of the hotel where you can hire a bike starting at 5 euros a day We are reasonably fit middle aged couple and it took us forty minutes to walk into Kos town. Men will need to wear trousers for evening meal

I must start this review by saying that any negativity is more aimed at TUI than the actual hotel itself - it was promoted as a 'Platinum' hotel in their website - it is most certainly not. As a standalone hotel, it was ok, nothing to write home about but ok. It is most certainly not TUI 'Platinum'. As you'll see from my other reviews of other TUI 'Platinum' places we've stayed at, we are very generous and positive where merited so we're not complaining and being picky for the sake of it. We have stayed in many hotels across the Dodecanese Islands and have become used to certain standards. On arrival, our bathroom was really dirty and uncleaned but after telling reception about it the next morning, they kindly changed it for us. Beyond that, the rooms were apparently just recently refurbished because all the fixed furniture (wardrobes, fittings) still had pencil markings from the contractors fitting the rooms out. The grounds are well kept but the building is quite run down. The buffet is very very limited (compared to other supposedly same 'Platinum' hotels in the region) and table service is limited. Perhaps it is the end of the season but staff were definitely not as hospitable as all the other Greek hotels we've stayed at which is a shame. 'Laura' was particularly rude as a waitress as she wanted to charge us for a cup of hot water at dinner time (where drinks needed to be purchased, but a cup of hot water?!) when we asked for some because my wife was sick and needed hot water with her medicine. The only positive was that the location was the perfect base from which to explore the island by car. Dimitria at reception was the only great member of staff that we came across who was proactive and helpful. The brightest spot within the whole resort are the entertainment team of Miska and Greta - unsurprisingly, they are contracted from an external company. There are many other places on the island that are possibly worth choosing over this one, unfortunately.

This hotel is graded as a four star but feels more like five. The staff a friendly and helpful. Food was good and was always a buffet with plenty of choice. Everywhere was spotless and our maid, Anna, was very accommodating as my wife and I are not good in the morning. The hotel is a little on its own, being a 10 minute taxi ride into Kos Town or if your fit you could walk along the seaside. Kos Marina was a nice place to stop and has a cafe/ restaurant and supermarket.

The hotel is absolutely fantastic, we had an amazing stay. Where should I start… the bedrooms are very spacious and modern, super clean and the bed is so comfy, I never slept better! The food is amazing and breakfast/dinner has loads of options everyday! The food in the taverna is a must try as well. The staff is absolutely the best! Special kudos to Spartak, Markus and Manolis.. they are really good at what they do and always very pleasant and friendly! The entertainment was amazing with the girls (Greta, Agne and Misha) always trying to engage with people and having loads of great activities throughout the day!! The only downside was the private beach, it was a bit too rocky for us and we didn’t go back for it again. Overall one of the best holidays we have ever been and we cannot wait to get back!

Spacious yet cozy. Serene yet energetic. You can tell this hotel is well managed. Highlights include TWO crystal clear pools which are both large enough for lap swimming, warm and professional desk staff, a ping pong table (!!), and a hopping bar. But the Best thing about Plantanista and the aspect which turns this into a 5 star experience is the night time entertainment! Every night was filled with laughter and fun, with Misha (what a talent!), Agne, and Greta leading the festivities. This is the place. 💥💥
