We were supposed to be doing an escorted tour to Turkey which was cancelled last minute. Booked this with my local Tui shop. Check-in was very prompt and we stayed in block 3 which was near reception and the main pool although the hotel complex was very large but had buggies for transporting people to more remote accommodations. The rooms were not small comfortable beds with good air conditioning. Shower was ok but awkwardly situated above the bath did the job. As for the decor, it was perfectly acceptable to me. Big thank you to housekeeping as rooms were spotlessly clean. Pool areas are good with plenty of loungers with a few pools to choose from. Water Park is good fun even with no kids and the cafe there is excellent. Food and beverage, I found the quality of food excellent, no issues with choice and quality. Nice breakfast choice, delicious salads at lunch and a few speciality restaurants, which you book on the app as often as you like. My favourite was the Italian and would have happily paid for my Pizza 🍕 and cheesecake. Chinese good and although Greek was buffet it was a lot more chilled than the main dining room. My only complaint perhaps guests could be prompted to use hand gel when entering dining areas as this was very lax. As there was always a member of staff at the entrance who could do this. Unfortunately, some guest's personal hygiene is not what it should be. The drinks were okay nothing special but managed to find something which I liked and stuck to that although not a big drinker it was not a problem. Plastic cups at poolside so I understand why glass is not given. No long queues for drinks and service very good except the piano bar which was a bit sporadic. The main bar by reception service was excellent, big thank you to Arnold who kept my glass replenished without ever asking, how's that for service? My wife enjoyed the shows although not my thing. Good gym which I use regularly with a nice indoor pool. The hotel and grounds are well maintained and the beach area is very chilled, have to pay a small fee of €2.50 for the lounger which ok with me, stops people from reserving loungers. Most staff were very good and seemed happy and were glad to help. A lot of cats around the hotel which are looked after. Not seen as a nuisance and very much part of the hotel which I thought was nice. You can tell a lot about people and an organization in how they treat animals and I thought this was good to see. Bus to Kos Town outside the hotel but can be very unpredictable, taxis not easy to come by. It's about a 45-minute walk and very flat to Kos Town which we did Very enjoyable stay and greatly exceeded my expectations for the price I paid. No issues with food and I have stayed in hotels more expensive than this and had a much worse experience. Rooms are comfortable and a very relaxing space. I had an enjoyable calming stay and would definitely stay again.

We are a family of 4... 2 children aged 7 and 8. Lets cut to the chase > Is this a nice place to visit, absolutely. Is it 5 stars nope, but it's 4 and that's OK. Pros - the main pool is amazing, we are we somewhat well travelled and this beats most I've ever been in. The food is actually good, it is varied and to a good standard (don't expect Michelin star but do expect to be well fed), the ala carte is a great option, we did the Italian and it was great. The waterpark, though small has plenty for the kids and will do you for a couple of hours. Lastly the entertainment is to a good standard. Having said that, it's 9 eur for a cab to kos town. The cons -> The theatre where the night time shows are has cheap plastic seats arranged like an actual theatre, so no tables and the family vibe is lost. OK there are a few flimsy plastic tables kicking around but it gives off a very cheap vibe and does detract from the main show ( that said I highly recommend the piano bar which was much better) , the supermarket on site is well stocked but very very overpriced so be warned. The non entertainment staff, there are 1 or 2 that are great, he crepe guy works tirelessly and the main bar guy in the buffet is a superstar however the rest really seem to have a mood most of the day. Lastly, and this is in no ways the hotels fault but there is a lot of French that stay here and frankly they all wall about with a face like a smacked @#£% and are incredibly rude.... Overall we enjoyed ourselves, I would recommend the pirate ship cruise from kos town all day for 4 of us 70 eur and it was a blast !!!

Stayed at BLR booked via Tui early May but unfortunately I don’t rate it and was disappointed with the hotel. The hotel most likely gets its 4 stars from the amount of facilities it offers but the standard of them facilities are more like 3 stars. One of the reasons I choose this hotel was because it had 6 restaurants but all the buffet restaurants had the same options! So 3 restaurants was essentially one menu. We also ate in the Greek, Italian and the Chinese restaurant but they had a canteen vibe about them and didn’t feel luxurious or special. I also noticed the main buffet restaurants do themed evenings which you guessed it were Greek Italian or Chinese! We ate out more than we ate in because we didn’t enjoy the ambience / vibe of the restaurants and felt getting dressed up for the canteens was an anti climax. We always asked the local taxi driver to take us somewhere they would recommend and every time we got a great recommendation. The rooms were dated but I knew this from the brochure pictures. Our room was always clean and towels changed daily but we were only given 2 pillows on one of the beds, the other person had to make do with 1 and overall they weren’t the most comfortable beds. The resort is massive and depending which block you are placed in, it could take you a good 10 minutes to get to reception, water park etc. You can call for buggy ride to drop you off but it will just come when it’s ready so it could be 1 minute or 15 minutes etc. Attempted to use the spa facilities one day but the sauna and steam room were cold, and the receptionist blamed it on other guest turning them off so can’t comment on this. Staff are polite and friendly but they were understaffed and you could tell. One employee explained that they had recruited from Philippines but no where near enough positions were filled and I think this could be an issue if it was high season. I caught a glimpse of one show, ABBA, but it just looked like the same dance routine for every song! Entertaining but more because it was funny than unmissable. We didn’t travel with children so I can’t comment on the children’s entertainment. Kos is a lovely resort but there isn’t a sandy beach, it’s more shingle so don’t visit if you’re wanting a sandy beach!

We have just got back from a 2 weeks stay here, for our wedding. The staff work their butt's off to make your stay amazing, got friendly with most as we was there for two weeks, they work long hours and double shifts, great staff The food isn't amazing and after 2 weeks you do get bored but there's plenty of choice and themed nights, water park food great for dinner, restaurants on site nice but book in early to avoid disappointment. The entertainment staff are amazing I have two small children, 2&5 so was in the entertainment tent every single night! They work long long shifts rehearsals, day entertainment, bingo, running kids club and awesome shows!!! The singers and dancers are all very good and highly skilled!! They work around the clock and are really good with children and understanding of occasional drunken ****** Hotel is huge lots of stuff for everyone and great for young children, and if you'd like to venture out its €9 in a taxi to centre and there's a bike rental next door

From the moment we pulled up it was hell. Arrived around 1am, 3 coaches full of people turn up to the hotel and only 1 man on reception. Taking his time checking everyone in. I arrived with 6 children (4 of them being aged 5 and under) there was no food or drink left for new guests. If your expecting this many people to turn up you’d of thought the hotel would have prepared enough food and water right? Children that had spent the whole day travelling was telling me he was thirsty and the hotel couldn’t provide not even a water. I asked if there was anywhere we could go and buy a drink and some food for the children but was told no. Not a great start really is it. Then when we finally have our key, got to the room to find the key didn’t work so had to wait for that to be sorted. It was 4am by the time we got into our room. So exhausted we just wanted to sleep, I lift back the duvet to get into bed to find they hadn’t even changed the bedding from the previous guests!!!! Some dirty red mark on 1 of the beds so I go and check the other bed that the children were staying in and there was black marks on it. Absolutely disgusting!!!! At 4am and no cleaner around I had to just throw a towel down over it and just get some sleep as we couldn’t keep our eyes open anymore. Luckily cleaner managed to replace the bedding the next day. The more you look around the room the more you see how bad it is, mould on curtains and in the seals in the bathroom. The bathroom tiles were so slippy my child slipped over and banged his head had a massive lump on his head the size of a golf ball! The rooms were FREEZING I couldn’t get the heating to work on the machine. The doors to the room might be fire friendly yes but not child friendly as 2 of my children escaped during the early morning as I was asleep, when I managed to find them they were on the top floor and staff were just standing around watching. My daughter was minding her business eating her food when a cat came into the restaurant and clawed her leg drawing blood! The food options were definitely limited and cold, me and my children didn’t eat very well that holiday. Basically lived off ice cream or crepes all week. When you go to the restaurant most of the time you have to find yourself a table and clean it off yourself from the last people. Plates and forks dirty - for a 5 star hotel you expect better. This was poor, I’ve had a better week in butlins UK than here. There’s SO much more I can write but it’s made me so angry I just really can’t be bothered stressing myself out about it anymore. Complete waste of money. How has this got 5 stars?

Having arrived home a couple of days ago after a week’s long stay here’s my view on how our week went (and no doubt ruffle a few feathers). It’s worth noting we travelled as a family of 3 with a 3 year old: 1. Flight We flew from Birmingham and chose this airport due to the much more desirable flight times compared to other airports such as East Midlands and Manchester. We’d read about the security gate issues prior but were able to circumvent all this by using the Fast Track service. In total we were probably through security etc in 30 minutes. TUI did email a few days before advising to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure rather than the usual 2 hours due to these ongoing works. The flight itself took off on time and we arrived without a hitch. Getting through Kos airport was also fairly quick considering we were one of the ones at the back of the queue. Finding the coach was also no issue having received the text message update from TUI. Going home Kos airport was very efficient and we flew through check-in and security. If only UK airports could apply the same efficiency (I know footfall here is much lower). 2. Transfers We stuck with the coach transfer and as per the TUI app we were the 3rd drop offs. It took around 1 hour 15 minutes and again we arrived without issue. Going home we received a TUI app notification and the coach was on time and took us to the airport 3. Check In This is where our initial impressions initially dampened. Having travelled to numerous All Inclusives to destinations such as Morocco, Cape Verde and the Caribbean some things were just missing. After our luggage was taken off the coach we had to manage by ourselves to get our 3 large suitcase, 3 hand luggage and a toddler with push chair into the lobby. There’s no staff to help you with luggage like we’ve experienced at every other destination. This is also the first time we’ve not had a welcome drink upon arrival. We were 1 of 3 families off our coach checking in and this therefore was very quick and painless. Having been told we were in block 5000 which is right behind the lobby I decided we’d make our own way there instead of taking a cart which would have been all for a 20 second journey. 4. Rooms As mentioned, we were in block 5000 on the top floor which we’d requested prior to arrival on the TUI website which was great. More specifically room 5230 which is right at the end overlooking the chapel. The room itself was fine with no issues and there was 2 bottles of water (small bottles) in the fridge. Air con also worked great for the couple of times we needed to use it. The bathroom again was OK but the shower itself is probably the worst we’ve had anywhere. The power of the shower is extremely weak and therefore if you have a lot of hair (ladies) you’ll have a fun time washing it. Our shower also kept changing from freezing cold to scolding hot every 30 seconds. I only found this out after our 3 year old daughter took her first shower and was

Just got back from vacation from Blue Lagoon Resort and it was one of the best vacations ever! Good things first: Hotel area is nice, lots of space, flowers, palm trees etc. The pool is even better than in photos, it is huge! One of the best pools I have seen. There is enough sun beds around it. so we always got one ar any time of the day. I was travelling with my two teenagers, so I booked Junior suite for us. It was more like a normal spacious room, not a suite, nut we were happy about it! Good beds, great air conditioning, nice balcony to the pool area. House keeping was super, rooms were spotless every day! Food in buffet was suprisingly good compared to many all inclusive hotels we have visited before. Lots of fresh vegetables, fruits etc. Out favourites were great pizza at Mesogios buffet and crepes by the pool. - We also felt sorry for the same guy who worked there hard every day from 10-18! Sometimes alone. There should have been 2-3 people all times, because the queue was long. Service in the Bar next to the lobby was great! They always remembered your drink and offered to bring one more. Just loved their attitude! For majority of the people working there - they were just doing their job. No hello, no smile, no nothing, just basic duty. They were always polite and doing their job well, but nothing extra. The animation team was lot of fun, good stretching&yoga, good aquabick! They also performed at the shows every night. Some of the shows were better than others but ovelalla they were entertaining. Remember to take ear plugs with you - shows are really really loud! The nearby beach is nice, rent a sun Bed for 2,50€ and chill. Water, soda, beer included for all inclusive fee, other drinks cost extra. Spa was ok, steam room was good but pool area outdated and water in pools cold. Outside pool was nice. Water slides were for younger children but the snack Bar was nice and Food there good. What could been better? Theme Restaurants were huge disappointments, interior was not cosy at all, food was below average and there was no small bottles of wine or wine by glass in any of them. No point to pay ~30€ for a Bottle for one glass when enerywhere else the drinks are free. We tried many drinks, they all tasted more or less the same. Wine was always warm and it was very average, but that it of course common in all inclusives. Between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner there was almost no place open to get snacks, fruits etc. Many times we needed something after lunch and before dinner, so only choice was the endless queue to the crepes Bar. Something similar that the waterpark snacks should be available in main Hotel area too! Overall, very good and relaxing vacation with lot to do! Enjoy your time in Blue Lagoon Resport! ☀️☀️

In our opinion not a 5* The hotel was very clean, fresh towels every day. Grounds kept in great condition. Hair dryer and kettle in our room, which was smallish but adequate. We always found something to eat, but the food was not the best. We were not impressed with the themed restaurants, not particularly authentic. The main restaurant was like a school canteen, with loads of noise and hustle. We used the ‘adults only’ pool, which was good, we swam every day, water was refreshing. Also, loved to see and hear the hens, cockerels and cats, good to be so close to a rural setting. Found the staff brilliant and always helpful. Our room was 6016.
