The hotel grounds are fantastic, gardens and pool are lovely. The staff are really, really good, they went above and beyond. The food is of a decent standard, we had no complaints whatsoever. The only negative thing we can say is the room we had didn't match the standard of the rest of the hotel. There was nothing wrong with it at all, it was a decent size and really clean, and just a little dated compared to the rest of the hotel, it made no difference to us, we still had a fantastic holiday. We read the negative reviews before we went, don't listen to them, you'll have a great holiday.

We have been here over a week now, me and my friend are in the satellite area, while our friends and their two children are based near the supermarket. If you are coming as a group , request rooms in the same location, as it can be quite a walk. You will certainly get your steps in while staying on this resort, though you can get the buggies if you want. The rooms are adequate, though the ones around the adults pool seem to be bigger and have more storage space. They are adequately cleaned each day. The gardens and pool areas are also kept to a high standard. The food and drink are ok, though the inclusive drinks could do with being of a higher quality, the beer is quite weak, you would probably drown internally before you got drunk from it. To pay €5.50 for a small bottle of Mythos is taking the urine, the same could be said of the inclusive cocktails and the premier cocktails. The food is varied, the specialist restaurants are good. However breakfast could do with actually serving PROPER BACON, and not the pressed ham imitation, which is a million miles away from bacon. I realise that cost of food and living expenses have gone up, and the hotel group can’t charge families more , once they have paid . So they have to save money somewhere, and this seems to have been done with the food , in its quality and lack of variation. P.s they don’t have HP SAUCE at breakfast. The entertainment team are excellent, putting on a varied day time program and the evening shows are very good, I don’t know a previous reviewer is coming from, when describing the shows as ‘ burlesque’ absolute rubbish.

Plus + - Very friendly staff. - Nearby Kos Town. Bus to the town is free, taxi (one-way) is 9 euro's. - Everything is pretty clean. Minus - - The food is often cold and just not very good. I recommend eggs for breakfast and pizza for lunch. A lot of the food feels very soft and you can tell that is is poor quality. - The plates, knife and fork are dirty almost all of the time. - There is basically no bus-schedule. There is a schedule at the reception, but it often is not correct. We spoke with a local taxi driver and he confirmed this problem and told us it is caused by the gouverment, since they don't pay bus drivers enough. That's why most drivers choose yo drive a taxi. - The water of the swimming pool is pretth cold. This is not taken lightly. It is cold. - The rooms are very outdated and we noticed a lot of dirt between the bathroom tiles and so on. Overall I would say it is clean. - There is basically no option for Greek food. Makes no sense, since this resort is located in Greece. - The themed restaurant 'Golden Sun' is really not that good. We have been there and the atmosphere just wasn't it. No option to sit outside and it felt like a big open hall, which wasn't even designed for a restaurant. Of all the other themed restaurants, we tried Nisos as well. That one has a buffet-design like in the main restaurant and it was descent. Overall I would say it is not worth your stay. It does not feel like a 5 star resort. Especially the restaurants and the food are a big let down. The rest is pretty ok! Overall it's just not good.

We had a great holiday here, as we made it great as a family. Beautiful grounds, friendly , helpful staff, great pool and waterpark. This is a great place if you like being part of the masses and neither leaving the compound or experiencing anything remotely Greek. But: No toilet paper in room on arrival. Sheets only changed once in a week. Cups and glasses not cleaned at all. Shower screen not cleaned. Floor inadequately swept. Only a heavy quilt on the bed, no top sheet. Air conditioning set at 22 degrees, would not go lower. Coffee and tea in room not replenished. Wash hand basin in bedroom, not bathroom so anyone sleeping was woken up when washing hands. Dangerously slippy floor in shower. Only one Greek member of staff encountered, all were Philippino , Asian or Eastern European . Food repetitive with cheapest possible cuts of meat used. Fatty, gristly and overcooked. No Greek main dishes on menu. Excessive salads and cold dishes. Desserts bland and soft. Beer ghastly, cocktails cheap, nasty and basic. Entertainment atrocious. Large tented area where there was no control over seating or safety. Burlesque and show entertainment totally unsuitable for family audience, Amateur level of performance by cast. As the only main entertainment, it was ridiculous that the bar is not part of the all inclusive deal. Branded spirits greatly overpriced. Pool towel arrangements ridiculous, you have to take them back by 6.00 pm and collect new ones in the morning. Some staff applied this rule rigidly and were rude about it, others were more friendly and flexible. On site supermarket grossly overpriced . Booked taxis with reception, 2 days in advance. Taxis did not turn up. After waiting for an hour, reception told us this always happens. Bars crowded , not enough seats. Pool overcrowded, impossible to get sunbed after 09.00. Pool aerobics or Zumba classes pumping out deafening music for over two hours a day. This is not a Greek holiday, could be anywhere. Diverting resources from grounds and other areas to some key areas, and changing the nature and location of entertainment or relocation of bars and entertainment, along with a dedicated shuttle service to Kos could make this place perfect.

It’s our last day here so wanted to give my view. Firstly the resort is huge, much bigger than indicated on Tui website, if you don’t like crowds and a cattle market at dinner times then it won’t be for you. Having said that the public areas are beautiful and extremely clean. The hotel clearly has a massive team of staff which keeps the place spotless and running well. The staff are key to the success of this place, they work so hard and are so friendly, they really are a credit to the place, particularly those at the bars and restaurants. The Primera animation team are also amazing, so friendly and talented. Our boys enjoyed the football, ping pong and basketball sessions. I’ve never seen so many people join aqua gym and pool Zumba sessions. They put on their own evening shows too- an extremely talented group of people. The food was generally very good, always warm and lots and lots of choice. We tried the al a cartes but the majority are still buffets and just a condensed version of what is available at the main buffet. We didn’t enjoy the Italian, the pizza is the same but nicer in the main buffet. We didn’t try the Chinese but the others I would say are just ok. At least they are quieter. Sunbeds are a problem, being such a big resort this is expected and unfortunately the lifeguards are inconsistent with removing towels, they sometimes do it, but regularly we saw people saving 6-8 sunbeds and not turning up until after 9. We are early risers but even being poolside by 7.45 we struggled with beds close to the pool. We had an ok room in block 4000 with 2 bedrooms (for 4 of us). I hope the hotel takes the regular feedback on board, the rooms, bathrooms and particularly the showers need an upgrade. Toiletries do not get replaced and the cleaning isn’t great. For a 5* rating they need to do more to improve rooms and the extras you would expect at a high star hotel. (The constant queue at the crepe station also shows that more choice is needed during the daytime). I don’t think we will be back, it’s just too big for us, but I I cannot thank the staff enough for making this a great and much needed holiday!

Myself, boyfriend and 9 year old stayed here for 7 nights in peak of August. I can’t praise the hotel enough, on arrival it was evident how immaculately clean and well kept all areas are. The staff can’t do enough for you - exceeding expectations with drink service and at meal times. The animation team were excellent and this is something that was important for us with a single child who has lots of energy to burn and bores easily! Special mention to David who made my little ones holiday (my son said it was his first season but you wouldn’t have thought this by how positively he spoke of him). Some of the sport sessions he went to it was just him and maybe one other and he still thoroughly enjoyed. I’ll be honest we found the evening shows a little repetitive but this was not important for us as a family and was just a bonus to have available. Room wise we had a larger twin room and it was comfortable but we did have a lack of wardrobe space. The room was always cleaned to a high standard and towels changed daily. The food we really enjoyed and always found plenty of options, we particularly enjoyed our visit to the Chinese restaurant and Greek restaurant. Drinks wise we stuck to spirits, cocktails and mocktails. The wine was not good and the beer was also not the best. As a coffee lover there was options of latte etc but I’d say these were average. Again this did not impact how well this hotel caters for all. The waterpark is enjoyable and a great few hours of fun for kids. Crepes were enjoyed by us all! Added bonus of courtesy rooms for showering that we used on our last day as we didn’t leave until 5pm. Clean and large enough for us all to use at the same time. Also we never struggled getting a sunbeds but on the days we were up later, we would just head straight for the waterpark as there was always beds available before 11. Just to mention there are cockerels roaming and making a lot of noise early hours alongside a lot of cats. This did not bother us in the slightest (having cats ourselves) but I know other guests made comments about this understandably. We went with TUI and we were disappointed by the lack of visibility and engagement from the rep. We attended the welcome meeting that was rushed and not really informative other than talking about the most expensive excursions. There was brief mention of kids club but they weren’t visible in hotel in comparison to the animation team and it wasn’t ever clear if this was suited to older kids like my son. We ended up booking excursions on the app and through completing our own research and talking to others (highly recommend visiting Zia by night). We also hired a buggy for 3 hours from Steve’s bikes which was a fun way of seeing more of the island and they informed us of great points of interest (Kos town, port and Tigaki. Overall we loved the hotel! If I ever wanted to go somewhere familiar or visit Kos again it would be here.
