We went to the Mitsis Ramira for a week with family in May. Upon arrival the staff kindly changed our rooms to place the three rooms we had booked next to one another. This was one of a number of occasions where the staff went out of their way to ensure our experience was special. This includes Gorgios in the Italian restaurant, who gave us a lovely table, and sorted out a second evening for us at the a la carte for later in the week. He was fantastic, as was all the staff working in the restaurants and buffet, along with the food that was served. My partner is a vegetarian and the buffet/restaurant provided a number of suitable and delicious options for her. In terms of the rooms, they were spacious, clean, and contemporary. The beds were comfortable and we had a lovely view of the pool and the mountains. The cleaners replaced towels whenever requested and made the beds beautifully. Another touch that we appreciated were the shutters for the balcony, allowing us to have peaceful mornings. The pools were a little cold, but I think that can be put down to the time of year of our visit. Other than that, we were satisfied with the fact that they offered a deep pool good for swimming, as well as a more quiet pool with a relaxed atmosphere. The beach was lovely also, we personally prefer sandy beaches but this did not spoil our enjoyment of it, nor the excellent fast food offered at the beach bar. It was often a bit windy at the beach, but once again, this is to be expected on an island. The hotel was excellently situated, around a 45 minute walk, 10 minute drive, or 20 minute cycle from the pretty town of Kos. Bikes could be hired from a stand next door to the hotel, who also offered other services such as quad bikes and beach buggies. The cycle is very safe, with a direct cycle path to the town centre, you literally cannot get lost. The only gripe we had with our stay related to the drinks, which all tasted quite similar. This doesn’t take away from the excellent service provided by the bar staff or the servers, including Lara who was lovely. If we could offer any constructive feedback to the hotel, it would be to invest in better drinks as we were left a little disappointed in that regard. This along with a few more seats being made available, as it tended to get quite busy in the evenings. All in all, our stay at the Mitsis Ramira was a delight. We would absolutely recommend, and could very easily see ourselves returning in future.
