Arrived home yesterday after a week stay at White Olive. We were a family of 6, from ages 14 to 80. Each and everyone of us enjoyed every moment at this hotel. It has recently been taken over by new management and yes there are a few minor issues that need to be ironed out but staff are happy to go above and beyond to sort out issues. Just because this hotel is not perfect, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve 5 stars. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly helpful reception staff and the front of house manager. We had 3x rooms for the 6 of us and we were placed almost next door to one another on the ground floor as 2 members of our family had mobility problems. One of the buggy guys took us and our cases to our room which was great. The rooms were clean and modern and had everything you may need. A mini fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and a safe. You need to pay €10 deposit for the safe key which you’ll get back when you return your key. Pools towels are €10 deposit again you get this back when you leave. There is a hut where you get your towels from by the adult pool 8:30-2:30 I believe. You can change your towels there every few days too. You return your towels to the hut and the guy will give you a card to hand to reception who will then give you your deposit back. There are 3 pools on site a kids pool with slides which I didn’t use but looked great fun. A wave pool, where the waves are activated every hour. Entertainment activities such as water stretching and yoga are held in this pool too. Then there is the adult pool which also has their own bar, great for people who don’t want to be around the other pools with the kids. The hotel is situated on the beach, yes it is rocky, but that shouldn’t be a reflection on the hotel. Bring water shoes or buy from the on site shop for €10. Once you’re past the rocky part the water is great. There are showers as you come of the beach to wash yourself down and get rid of the sand from your feet. Staff at the pool bar day time and night time are friendly and work their socks off. The snack bar at the calypso bar is amazing serving freshly cooked food. Greek delights, pizzas and chips. Yes there normally is a queue for the pizzas but again the staff are working their socks off and food is continuously cooking. There is always a selection of different food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner. I found the food really nice and always found something that I would eat. Even my two fussy kids found somethings they would eat. The hotel itself is remote but you can get a bus from the main road into Kos town or a taxi which was €5 a person a total of €30 for us into Kos and the same to go into Tgaiki. The entertainment team are brilliant, very friendly. The Michael Jackson tribute show is one to watch, it was fab. Rooms are cleaned most days. They are not cleaned on Sundays but you are given clean towels. The lobby bar is great and Flora behind the bar is friendly a
