This property is nice, styled in the Baroque period. Staff are friendly (Eastern Euro friendly that is... not bad, just different from”Western” friendly), and have been helpful (Jem, Sarah, Maria.) The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I would not describe this property as an American luxury hotel, but it is certainly very nice. The toiletries and towels are skimpy, however sufficient. The breakfast buffet is certainly less in quantity than other hotels in Croatia offer in Rijeka, but the food is GOOD and fresh, there is cerals, scrambled eggs, yogurts, cheeses, breads, meats, juices and HOT coffee that tastes great. You won't be hungry with this buffet. The other reviews that complain are just whiners. The ONLY negative with this property is that the AC in each room (we had 2 rooms) are: noisy, barely cool and do smell musty. We opened the windows since it cools down nicely at night but there are no screens, so the mosquitos come in, so it is a catch 22: be warm or be bitten by bugs. Overall, I would stay here again.

Having been a fan of the San Servolo beer, when I saw this property it was a no brainer for me for our stay in Istra. And the resort really lives up to the high standard set by their excellent beers! The mobile home we stayed in was very nicely decorated and designed, and comfortably fit our family and our daughter's travel cot. The mobile home had its own jacuzzi which we very much enjoyed - a great way to relax after a day exploring the beauties of the Istrian peninsula. The pool at the resort was gorgeous (although too cold for my liking) and the pizzeria lived up to its billing as one of the best pizzerias in Istria. The breakfast didn't have the broadest selection of items, but everything on offer was of the highest order. The resort also had good kids facilities with a lovely playground area and all the room for our daughter to run around. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, so really everything about the resort was of excellent quality.

We were visiting the Slovenian Coast for 5 Nights as a couple with a dog. We opted for a hotel in a more quiet location compared with portoroz - Izola etc.... What a great choice! Firstly, the hotel is beautiful renovated and looks like a new place. All is well and feels new - from the Restaurant, Lobby and the Rooms! (and awesome Salt chambers..) We chose a double room with balcony, which in those hot days were great for the early mornings or later evenings! (plus a big help in drying beach towels and clothes!) The room was nice, safe and mini bar fridge all available. Good shower - and for outdoor 38 degrees heat a perfectly working Air Con!! That's a real bonus! The Food (Breakfast was an enough wide selection) and the Dinner (mixed à la carte & sushi) must be stated was amazingly nice cooked, real top quality chef! if you like to dine out or eat in the evenings out just a 10-minute walk is the Ancaran Townsquare with a handful of nice Bars, Italian, Local Speciality Restaurant and so on. ＞All one needs! But the best ist still straight down from the hotel, the small bar on the beach! - So! - most over all I like to mention the feeling being a few days away from home in this place made us really relaxed and the best of the hotel is the people who work there!! - from the welcome reception team to the bar & restaurant staff and the housekeepers - all were at every time friendly and engaged! Overall, the Owner or Manager of this Hotel should be happy to have exactly this team working there now! They are awesome people with a good sense of hospitality! I would try to keep them! From the hotel you can walk in 3-5 minutes to a nice calm, quiet beach with another nice Restaurant and Bar (directly overlooking the Bay of Ancaran, Koper and so on) which was a lovely scenery!). The water was crystal clean and perfect temperature, and each time coming back to the hotel felt simply nice. Having travelled over 100s of times and stayed in 2-5 star hotels all over - this is definitely a place to go back. You just have to know what you are looking for and what kind of entertainment one wants. If you choose wisely, and you look for a bit more quiet place and not overloaded with people - and good drinks, food etc... than this is your destination! Thank you Team Ortus for the great stay. The rooms are all the comforts necessary and are spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable. The breakfast strength, very good cakes, the offer is generally quality. The staff are young and well educated. I recommend it.

We had some issues getting to the hotel due to the very slow passport control at Trieste airport and so turned up about 12:30 in the morning. Once we found the hotel we rang the bell several times and did not notice the sign stating that if closed go to the Intercontinental on the other side of the pedestrian area. The receptionist came across and guided us to the other hotel where we booked in and then he came across, showed us the key to get in and up to the lift where we went up to our suite. The suite was a good size with a microwave, fridge, kettle, pots and pans etc. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and the room was quiet so we got a good nights sleep. The breakfast is in the other hotels' restaurant but it is less than a minute to walk across to it. Breakfast choice was not great - you have to choose your breakfast from a menu and it would have been better to have a buffet type. The hotel was quite expansive and I did not feel that it was worth the cost.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was substantial with plenty of choices available. During the day the breakfast room also serves as the hotel guest lounge. There are complimentary pastries, tea and a coffee machine available here for hotel guests throughout the day. It is a relaxing place to sit and refresh. The hotel staff are friendly, polite and helpful. In front of the hotel is a small shop where you can buy a 24 hour bus ticket for three euros. Many of the local sites are accessible using public transport. There are plenty of restaurants surrounding the hotel. It is a five minute walk to the the old town.

The location of the property is excellent, 2 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from the city center! The rooms are not up-to-date, but dignified and with the minimum comforts satisfied. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the mattress which I personally found a bit too low and soft (subjective consideration)! Reception staff very courteous and helpful! We will definitely be back 😁👌
