Forgive the title - it came to me on the third day of our stay as I looked up from my sunbed at my fellow guests - no one was going to be ripping it up anytime soon and the whole experience was one of relative peace and quiet in a stunning location - my idea of bliss. The guest demographic changed slightly as the time wore on but even a few 20 year olds were never going to bring down the average age too much! The location of the hotel is a major plus point, situated in a bay overlooking the sea. The trip to the hotel is by boat (obviously) and the views are amazing on the way. The site layout does mean the accommodation ‘blocks’ are situated up the hillside a little – so do your research - the steps are steep and there’s a lot of them so if you have mobility or health issues you might find getting to your room a little harder than expected. This is all, of course, made very clear in the publicity material for the hotel. The business end of the hotel is very clean and functional with a decent sized restaurant that, even when busy, was never too much so. In the restaurant, food was always well prepared and presented, with a wide range available and we certainly had no problems at all with sorting ourselves out with something rather nice to eat. The staff are very attentive, polite and efficient. It was always a genuine pleasure to be greeted by a smiling Monika for breakfast to kick each day off and Stefanjina, Ana and Stefani (apologies for any misspelling) were equally fantastic throughout the day, always attentive despite clearly working very hard. Whilst mentioning staff, they were all tremendous, from reception to catering to housekeeping it was obvious that folks were working hard to make our stay the best it could be. No one worked harder than Dunja at the pool bar – with a never-ending stream of hot and bothered guests to be watered. I did feel sorry for her when the power went down (throughout the Balkans that day), and nothing worked as it should, but all was sorted out…in the end. The only minor downside on the catering front was the reliance on dispensing machines for hot and cold beverages – it was a bit hit and miss sometimes. The ‘inclusive’ beer and wines were perfectly OK – and if you wanted something more ‘exclusive’ it was available if you wanted to pay for it. We did take advantage of the complimentary booking at the hotel restaurant nearer to the quay side – that was very good, the food and service was quite brilliant, and we were looked after tremendously by Filip. We enjoyed that so much we booked in for another night that was not complimentary – If I were you I’d certainly take the freebie! We found exploring this unspoilt island was easy and rewarding, with some great views to be had and some peaceful strolling. Guests would often take a walk towards the main jetty to watch the sunset. There are benches dotted around to sit and take it all in. There are no cars but buggies, motorcycles and even so
