A wonderful small hotel staffed by amazing people. Valentina & Mario were terrific, as was literally everyone else who works there. On-site restaurant serves delicious meals. (And this will sound silly but I had some of the best fried eggs ever for breakfast.) Highly recommend the Kalamota Beach house.

Even before we came we were excited about it, but turning up on the dock and it surpassed expectations. The views are incredible, all the staff are genuine and helpful, they made our stay very memorable. We ate at the restaurant every night and the food was delicious. We used the private transfer boat twice which is a great addition as the ferry is set times. We even did a private tour of the island by boat which I highly recommend. Would absolutely recommend; and if doing so I’d also recommend stopping at one of the supermarkets before transferring over to get some food / drinks for the room.

This is a little piece of heaven on earth. Starting with the island it is small and you can easily walk from the Hotel to the village which doesn't contain much but has a nice fish restaurant and a quirky little shop. It also has a very nice beach. The hotel is in a small sandy bay. It is super safe for young children. We played in it every morning and had a ball. The hotel is fabulous. Small number of lovely rooms. Having now been twice we have experienced different ones and both lovely and large. Fabulous rooftop swimming pool. Cold in the morning in a refreshing way and like a lukewarm bath in the afternoon. So quiet my daughter decided it was our private pool! The restaurant has changed from last year. Not in structure but in menu. It is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Every meal we had was beautifully presented and full of flavour. There is also a good selection of local delicious wine. Breakfast is exactly what is required. Good selection of hot and cold food. As with so many places what makes it special is the staff. The manager Mario is very hands on. This was our second visit and he had gone to the bother of remembering our names and was always available to talk to. Valentina, his assistant is the consummate professional. Anything you need she gets. Special mention for Katerina in the restaurant. My 9 year old daughter had broken her wrist a week before we went and Katerina was especially sweet to her. However a great worker as well. Superb English and super keen to help. My daughter wants to go there every year. Who knows she may get her wish!

This place is a hidden gem. It’s like staying on a retreat and everything about it was amazing . The staff are all so attentive and willing to make your stay as perfect as can be . The manager is very helpful having information on the Island and Dubrovnik. He runs his ship with a small team of staff making you feel you are looked after by a real family . Mario is always happy energetic and positive . I would highly recommend this holiday as it’s beautiful, amazing food and a small friendly run hotel .

This place is stunning! And … what makes it stand out even more, we’re the staff. Mario and his team were so welcoming - we felt truly honoured to be staying there. I can’t spell all the names of the staff, but every single one deserves a mention! Keep doing what you’re doing! Food was amazing, the location is beautiful, beds comfy and the whole atmosphere sublime. We booked 3 nights, being the first of a mini tour of Croatia, and to be honest, we could have stayed and cancelled the rest of our trip. We ate there every night, and had lunch too - the chef is brilliant. I could go on, but just know that we will be back! Sad to go, but happy to go back next year. Matt and Steph x

Just spent a week here, nothing to do but relax and enjoy the sunshine. Hotel was spotless throughout and staff were polite and friendly. Our room was on ground floor with a patio area. Room was very spacious with bedroom, kitchen living area. Bedroom had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Loads of wardrobe space and unusually plenty of hangers!! Kitchen had a fridge which was handy for keeping the water cold. On the roof a lovely pool reached via a lift, with plenty of cabana beds, sun beds and towels readily available, warning the pool is COLD but lovely once you brave getting in! Outside is the beach area with again beds available, perfect for reading and relaxing with several sets of steps access to the sea. The bar/restaurant area has lots of comfortable chairs and tables all with the beautiful view of the bay. Food and drinks are available all day from included breakfast to dinner. We were half board so our menu was limited but the staff were extremely helpful to me as there was a lot of fish/seafood which I don’t eat, they offered an alternative meal. All members of staff were friendly and polite especially the head waiter, sorry can’t remember his name!! Only a couple of downsides for us personally 1. The public ferry to Dubrovnik was either 7am or 12.30pm (one too early and the other the hottest part of the day) you could have private transfers but at a cost of €90!! Maybe the hotel should consider a small boat of their own for guests to share? 2. A few times boats would moor in the bay and we would have an ‘invasion’ of people using the bar area and toilets. We found this a little intrusive when trying to relax, especially when one German man thought it acceptable to ***** out of his clothes and into swimwear for all to see!! All in all we would recommend the hotel if you want total west from it all relaxation.

Excellent hotel where I spent an unforgettable and relaxing weekend! Easily accessible from Dubrovnik, in a perfect location by the beach. The atmosphere and ambience are stunning! The rooms are spacious, and the large balcony has the sea view. We enjoyed the pool on the roof and laying on the big sunbeds. The island is surrounded by beautiful nature and wonderful walking paths. The menu of the hotel restaurant offers a variety of delicious and fresh traditional dishes at affordable prices. Every meal we chose was very tasty, fresh, originally served and presented! The service is extremely professional! I highly recommend this hidden gem away from the overcrowded tourist spots. An ideal place for vacation!

We stayed at this wonderful boutique apartment hotel for 4 days in October, just days before it closed for the season. The staff were attentive and very helpful, especially Mario, Valantina and Sinisa. The accommodation consists of 11 apartment suites, all with sea views. Very clean and well maintained property with on-site restaurant serving breakfast (included), lunch and dinner (half board option at an additional price. Other dining options are limited - just one nearby bistro which was already closed for the season. Other than that, it’s a 2.0km walk to Donje Celo to dine at one of the 2 - 3 bistros there. Easiest and least expensive transfer from Dubrovnik is to hop on the small private Europa ferry which travels to Gornje Celo twice daily - early morning and late afternoon. €6.50 per person in October 2024. Contact hotel reception for ferry schedule as it changes from time to time. Definitely recommended place to relax and get away from tourist crowded Dubrovnik.
