The Place Luxury Boutique Villas

The house is beautiful and the view is amazing, BUT our experience was NOT LUXURIOUS. NOT RECOMMENDED for honeymoons or for those seeking perfection. During our short stay, we encountered the following issues: The villas are accessed via a very steep hill, so if you arrive by scooter, you need to be a skilled rider with good balance, otherwise you'll fall. The first two villas aren't well signposted, so if you arrive after 6:00 PM and haven't made proper arrangements for check-in, you'll be lost outside with no idea where to go. However, if you do arrange it, there's an excellent round-trip transfer service from the port. [ SERIOUS PROBLEMS ] During our stay, our toiletries, including toothbrushes and makeup, were compromised by cockroaches coming up from the bathroom drains. We notified the property, but they did nothing during our stay, nor did they compensate us for the damage. The kitchen isn't equipped with a microwave, and the stove burners are unusable because any food you place on them, even dried food, will be swarmed by ants and insects within seconds. The electricity and Wi-Fi constantly cut out. One evening, I had an online certification exam, and the power went out 12 times in an hour. My exam was canceled, and I lost both money and time. They'll tell you it's a common problem all over Koh Tao, but that's not true. It doesn't happen at other properties, or at the very least, they would have solved it with independent generators and solar panels. If you decide to dine on the veranda, expect to be surrounded by mosquitoes and bats. The house is in the jungle, so you need to be adaptable. It's highly likely that the entire property is subject to jamming (GPS?), to prevent your drone from flying. Privacy is important, but what about health? Finally, the corner next to the bed, near the nightstand, hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and being an allergy sufferer, I had a reaction and suffered from it. After reporting all the problems to the excellent customer service, at check-out, we were even charged for extra coffee and a beer taken from the fridge. So don't expect any discounts, even if you have a terrible stay like ours.
