Hotels near The Memories Sheep Farm in Koh Samui

The large hotel has modern and very clean rooms and a very good room service. The TV in my room did not work. The swimming pool is very nice but unfortunately there is no gym available. You can rent a motorbike there for 300 baht per day (quite expensive) but unfortunately the staff there is not easy to reach when you wanna return the bike. You can park the bike at the nearby Central shopping mall which is quite complicated because the parking space is very narrow. All in all I would recommend the hotel!

Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

When we arrived at Ko Samui airport, the transfer service from the hotel worked perfectly. We received a very warm welcome at the hotel and were given our room straight away. The room (Grand Deluxe Room) far exceeded our expectations. It's less of a room and more of a small apartment without a kitchen. The hotel complex is absolutely paradisiacal. Lots of beautiful plants and very well maintained. The beach was amazing, the most beautiful beach we have seen on Ko Samui (we explored the whole island by motorbike that we also rent from the hotel). The sea - turquoise blue clear water. The great thing is that it is a private beach so only accessible to hotel guests and therefore not overcrowded. The food was fantastic. There is a very large selection and there really is something for everyone. The pool area directly on the beach with an included pool bar is very beautiful. And the cleanliness of the whole hotel was excellent. What particularly impressed us and what we have never experienced on our many trips... was the warmth and friendliness of all the staff. Everyone was always helpful, funny and good organized. Friendships developed in this short time, for which we are very grateful. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you have done for us. You gave us a wonderful honeymoon and organized such a beautiful candlelight dinner that we will never forget in our lives. Mid March, strong winds, strong waves, red flag, can’t swim on Chaweng beach. Last year September Chaweng beach water was so calm and flat, so beautiful, picture perfect, best beach in Koh Samui, but in March, not swimmable. But we found no wind, no waves at Choengmon beach! Ozo, excellent breakfast, nice pool, right on beach. Good sunbeds, clean. if you can get one. There is Ozo rule: one towel per person, no saving sunbed, no outside food or drink. We were shocked by these rules. Good for management, but for guests, not feel so good. We never stayed in a hotel in Thailand with such rules. The biggest negative is it is very noisy at night, up to 3 am, many guest noises and can hear next door toilet flushes, and strange scuffling sound at night behind the walls. The bed is very comfortable but we could not sleep because of the sounds. Finally, the room is just too small, for two people. Balcony so small. We stayed one week, then moved to another hotel in Choengmon beach. We will not stay here again. Didn’t have any memorable experience with the staff. The staff were just staff, not friendly, no smiles. Disappointed.

Great Boutique hotel in Chaweng. Excellent value. The room were sparking clean and has everything one needs including beach towels and umbrellas. There is a pool but not gym which is fine. It is centrally located. The breakfast is OK but sufficient. Had a quick dinner meal one night since it was raining and had a long day and did not want to venture out to the many restaurants in the area. There was no one else so we did not have high expectations but the meals were excellent and my friend raved about the drink he got. The entire staff were excellent and so kind. Front desk were efficient and warm. The concierge had GREAT recommendations on tours. We took all the ones she recommended and were not disappointed. This part of Chaweng beach is OK. Not a swimmers beach, more of a just a dip in the ocean place. I was not able to take advantage of the Kayak but did that anyway on one of the tours we took. I love Samui and will definitely return and if staying in Chaweng will definitely want to be at The Stay again.

By far the best hotel at Koh Samui. It’s the 4th time we stay here. We had to skip twice because of Covid, but they used their time well: the whole resort got a makeover, and it’s even more beautifull then is already was. But the hospitality didn’t change, it’s still very good. Main reason is the lovely host Tan, she is the best and makes our stay even better that possible. We’ve recommended this resort to our friends and they will visit Baan Samui Resort next July aswell. I’m sure they will enjoy it as much as we do, also due to the lovely miss Tan.

Traveling on the island of Samui in Thailand, they stayed at Samui First House 3* on the beach of Chaveng Noi, on the eastern side of the island in March 2020. The hotel is a three-star hotel, old, no territory but wins everything because of the location! On the first line at the beginning of the beach. Always enough chedrons with umbrellas Just opposite in the water there are huge walnuts that play the role of the waves. The poet swim is very comfortable. Beside them you can take snorkeling, look at fish. The beach is big. It is nice to walk along the sand along the sea. The sea is warm, transparent turquoise water. Living in a deluxe on the second floor with a view to the sea. The room is good, there is everything you need, even an extra bed. The bathroom is a shower bath. There is a swimming pool. The restaurant serves a Swedish table for breakfast, Choice is small but you will not stay hungry. There is infrastructure near the hotel. Cafe, Family Mart, spa salons. To the center of Chavenga you can leave on a tuck-tuck for 20 b. A small hotel with the best location. Nearby are 4.5* hotels that are not different. Why overpay? I recommend it to everyone.

The Mercure Samui, is hands down one of the most spectacularly positioned hotels on the beautiful Chaweng beach. At just one year old it is also the most beautifully landscaped and furnished of the many hotels we have been so lucky to stay during our travels. The team who maintain and care for the hotel and clearly understand the importance of guest services is outstanding. From the wonderful management of Nat and Nina, to their beautiful staff of whom there are too many to mention and the amazing reception team of, Sira, Bella, B and Daris, there was nothing that they didn’t do to make our stay as perfect as possible. We wish we could name them all. Everyone was wonderful! We had planned a seven day stop over here on Koh Samui as we came to the end of two months travelling in Europe. We chose the Mercure and Koh Samui on a whim as hopefully a restful place to unwind. We couldn’t have asked for more! We only wish we could have stayed longer! The breakfast each morning was a buffet with a chef station for selecting items that could be made on request. The restaurant team at meal times and at breakfast was cognisant of my wife’s gluten intolerance and catered for her with excellent alternatives. They were brilliant! We had not considered a return to Koh Samui before our arrival but all that has now changed. We will indeed return to the Mercure for the pure joy this wonderful hotel provided us during our stay. The beach is one of the cleanest and calmest of the beaches we have visited in Asia. Travel too and from the Samui Central mall or down to Lamai is inexpensive and extremely well serviced by small buses that pass by the hotel at least every five minutes and cost just 100 THB. The rooms are beautifully furnished as you would expect from such a new hotel. The beds very comfortable and the bathroom excellent. A fabulous shower! We stayed in pool access room, 2005. It was a real treat to be able to walk into the beautifully clean and well appointed pool whenever we felt the need for a refresh. Access to the pool and the beach was easy from all rooms with plenty of shady deck chairs available. The three bars, on the beach, in the pool, on the rooftop of the restaurant, offered happy hour times that varied between venues. As you can see from this review, we loved the Mercure on Koh Samui. We are already planning a return visit!

Perfect for young crowd. Lot of activities and parties during the day and night. Pool is beautiful and prices are reasonable. Staff is very helpful and always making sure that you’re all set. However I didn’t know that this is a party hotel so this isn’t really for me but I’m sure if you’re looking to have fun all day long, this is for you.

We had a beach bungalow (737) and it was absolutely amazing, it was right on the beach front a few steps away from the sand, bed was comfy the tv was good and the air con was efficient and kept us cool of a night time. You can just sit on the terrace and stare out onto the gorgeous beach with crystal clear water. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and really went above and beyond for my 21st birthday and done the room up and made me a cake. They was very friendly and polite and always made an effort to speak to you as you passed them. The food was good especially for free. The location was very good as you had the peace and quiet of an essentially private beach in a quiet area but down the road a 400 baht return taxi ride away was chaweng (central samui) which was very lively and had a lot of resteraunts and bars. Overall a faultless stay and I’d recommend this hotel to anybody.
