Chaweng Beach Koh Samui|0.9km from New boss tailor
This was our place to go whenever we visited Koh Samui. This is a small, quiet beach front boutique hotel. The staff have always been very friendly and will try their best to accommodate you. This visit we felt very unwelcome. Considering this was our 5th visit, and we were excited to be back in Koh Samui, I was expecting to have been welcome back in a nicer way. No, that did not happen. We found our bathroom was dirty, especially around the toilet, and immediately I contacted Reception, who sent someone to clean it and then asked if we wanted to change rooms. I asked why the toilet had not been cleaned in the first place, and they could not answer. I was so disappointed. I then started to notice other things that I was not happy about. We asked for the manager, who we know well and has always been very hands-on and always came to welcome us back when we returned for a visit, and they said they would send a message. The manager sent us a bottle of wine and an apology note. Well, that was very presumptuous of the manager because I don't drink!!! We returned the bottle!!! I eventually met the new manager, he's new from England. I did let him know how I felt and told him it was not very nice to step into an unclean bathroom. Excuse was they just done maintenance, I told him that's not my concern it should have been cleaned, and he accepted this should have been done. The hotel is looking very old and does not have the wow look anymore, and considering we've visited many times the hotel did have refurbishments in the room, the rest of the hotel definitely needs refurbishment. You would have thought this would have been taken care of during the lockdown. The sky roof in the breakfast area needs cleaning. The swim up bar the tile fell off and one of the guest had to show the staff member what had happened because it was sitting in the bottom of the pool which the guest went and pull up and gave to the staff member. So, to be honest it's a lovely hotel but the manager is an office person and does not really engage well with guests, which is a shame because for a small hotel he definitely needs to be ensuring his guest know who he is and to also welcome them back or thank them for visiting. He did, however, come and wave us goodbye, I suppose he's hoping we will be back. We are not sure we will visit again. We went and checked out another hotel and found other hotels charging the same and are much nicer. Changes bring better, but it did not happen on this occasion, unfortunately.

Came to our room to find things sifted through and items missing from our suitcases. Told night time staff, he said to return in the morning, in the morning she told us she will check and let us know, about 4:30h later we went and asked what happened and if they checked footage, she claimed she didn't have time to call us and she showed us a few seconds of a person leaving and said see they didn't take anything. We asked to see the full footage. On footage, the housekeeper was in our room for 30 minutes, yet nothing was replenished except towels changed, room was not cleaned as seen in pictures. Manager said it takes them 15 -20 minutes to clean a room and change everything, she was there for over 30 and didn't do any housekeeping, no cleaning, no new sheets. She also hid a large bag by the door, partially seeb, previous housekeepers left everything by the stairs and had cleaning products , this one didn't. Only 1 tiny bottle. When we asked them about the duration of her stay in the room given the fact nothing was actually done, They had no explanation for that. Both our suitcases and nicely folded H & M bag were sifted through. We came for our honeymoon, and it is our 9th hotel in Thailand. Its an absolutely shocking and frustrating experience. We asked to cancel the rest of the stay as we wanted to leave. Manager Grace Lwin first said they will refund, than returned and said that they can't refund , that I have to contact Expedia. Expedia was waiting on approval of the booking management. Due to the lack of care we decided to involve tourist police. What an awful experience to have. No one should be looking through your things at a hotel room, it's a violation of privacy and trust. Hotel safety is a priority and this hotel doesn't have it. Update: Booking manager Grace Lwin told us she wants to come to the room to look through our things because she said she wants ”to check if you lie”. What?? We showed her. If you check our room, you should check your employees house too but of course they only checked us! We started recording everything on our camera as we couldn't believe what was happening. We found a different hotel and checked out early. On top of everything, Its the only hotel out of now 10 hotels we have been to in Thailand where the lock to the room doors doesn't work, you can't lock from inside, and the room itself is in bad shape.

Liked · I have some very mixed emotions about this hotel. Staff were absolutely amazing. The girls were great (however we are slightly biased, as we did not meet one Thai person that was not pleasant to us, where ever we went). The Airport is not far from Chaweng town, and you could negotiate with a taxi driver or tuktuk driver outside the airport-arrivals, and you should only pay up to 400B for up to 4 people. We pre-booked our collection but that was unnecessary. And it cost us slightly more. If we are there for partying and shopping, this would be a prime location, unfortunately we weren’t. The room was a great size. Kettle, tea and coffee. Included. We thought it was good value for money when we booked. Breakfast was included, which is great. [Basic buffet breakfast, you wouldn’t gorge in it (although some people did!), and it gets a coffee and toast or croissant into you before starting your day!] We underestimated the location, and being in the heart of the party scene was not for us! If you were in your 20’s and 30’s (without kids) and planning on staying up all night and sleeping all day, it’d be amazing. Disliked · Room was big and spacious…HOWEVER, although it was kept clean (cleaning lady was a lovely woman), the toilet, sink and taps are all stained, permanently stained, so they all look dirty. If I was in my partying-20’s I probably wouldn’t have even noticed, but it was disgusting. Brushing your teeth and looking at a stained sink and taps, showering looking at a stained glass partition, no thanks. When arriving, I took off my sliders and put on a pair of white socks while in the room. The socks came off and went straight into the bin. I wouldn’t put them back into my case because they were filthy. The breakfast as mentioned was sufficient, except the girls who worked the buffet, didn’t have great English, and the language shouldn’t be a barrier here! I only had coffee and toast, but because it was my first time there, I couldn’t find a knife, so I had to ask. The girl had no idea what I wanted, so she got someone else, and then a third girl was introduced to the conversation. Eventually I picked up a fork, and done a knife and fork gesture, and all three understood at the same time. None of it was their fault or even that frustrating for me, but this is an area that the language barrier should not be an issue. 20 metres outside the door you hit shops and you are on the Main Street in 2 minutes from the hotel. We’re in our 40’s now, a bit less hectic suits us better, so this location didn’t suit us. SMOKING - when booking this hotel, there was no mention that it does not permit smoking on their balconies*. I 100% agree with non-smoking rooms. We were on the first floor, unable to smoke, even on our balcony, BUT, underneath us (in the swim-up pool room’s), they were smoking cigs and ****, all good, except the smoke and smell was rising into our room. I came out of the bathroom and our room smelt of ****. IT MAKES NO

Very polite and helpful staff) This place is very suitable for couples to go to bars and clubs + beach, by the way, performances/party can be performed on the beach at night, within walking distance. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby, there are various blacksmith shops for every taste) Unfortunately, the photos taken from the hotel, no, but very clean) I took a picture on the beach) You can also rent a bicycle , There are rental services nearby) and can travel around the island) convenient

Great place for most people romantic meal with entertainment or a later night party! I came with my partner we’re in the 35+ age range and we enjoyed a reasonably priced tasty meal, watched the fire show which I believe is every evening at 8pm. It was a cool addition to the evening and was good entertainment. We left around 9 as it was wrapping up. Would definitely go again. The bear bar area is cool vibes. A bit Ibiza beach club vibe, trendy lights and tunes but not too bold or in your face. You have a romantic dinner. If you want to stay on and party and be wild I’m certain that’s a an option but it’s not my partners thing so we left. All staff were friendly and we were overall very happy

Don’t ever book accommodation here, they will scam you. Firstly, we pre-book our rooms- 1 double bed, and 2 rooms with 2 single beds each for 6 people, which was confirmed promptly before our arrival. We arrived early, and were allowed to enter one room, the double bed room, which was fine, and was told to come back at the check in time of 2pm to gain access to the other rooms. We arrive at 3pm, to be told that 1. We could only get one room with 2 single beds, and one with a double bed- not what we had asked for, OR what was confirmed, and 2. they hadn’t finished cleaning one of the rooms, so we couldn’t check in until at least 5pm. They were rude, and began to get cranky and shout at us for their mistakes. They also told us that they had no rooms available for 2x2 single beds, and were unwilling to do anything about that (even though you walk down the strip and see plenty of empty bedrooms). After we finally got to check in all 3 rooms at 12am, we were greeted with a disgusting smell coming from the bathroom. On top of that, one of the rooms air conditioning was broken. We went to the front desk to complain, where the lady once again started yelling at us, came into the room and said there was no smell at all. She gave us a new room, which was fine. Upon checking out, we went to the front desk to retrieve our 500 baht bond for the room key, when they told us that we hadn’t handed back a beach towel, even though we had already handed back all towels we had used. They then showed us their booking sheet, to a signature next to our room number, which happened to be forged as it was NONE of our signatures, nor any of us from that room had even taken out a towel. They refused to give us our deposit back, and again, used a disgraceful, rude and condescending attitude. The wifi was bad, and the loud noise coming from other guest was also concerning, especially at 2am. Don’t bother wasting your money or time here, staff are atrocious and need to learn common decency and respect for their customers.

- Location is great and in a vivid area. - easy access to the beach (very beautiful) - The staff was very very very kind and very helpful. -You can rent a motorbike at the hotel (we knew too late), but they helped us with the one we rented and offered gasoline. - The wifi was good, but the airconditioning was amazing (very important in weather like this). - almost next to a seven eleven so if you need anything late at night just walk out of the door In short: go here for a nice stay!!

Very unhappy with the booking platform. Arrived at the hotel, they were unable to find my reservation and this is not the first time! The hotel is however well located, a little noisy in the evening. The staff is very kind.

This place is on the perfect locations in Chaweng Beach. You dont even need a bike- everything you need is nearby. Right on the Beach, with a good price for a clean and nice room. The evenings are amazing sitting in the Beach bar watching the stars and the greenlight from the fishingboats. Might coming over some partypeople from Ark bar next door, but Lucky Mother is a chill place. The owner is thai and very friendly, very cute kids and alot of cats. 💗
