The Lamai Samui

Amazing experience. Would highly recommend. Stayed in the Ocean Pool Villa.

At first glance, the price seems like a great deal for a villa. However, after checking in, it became clear that the lower cost comes with compromises in detail. The soundproofing is a major issue—not just from the adjacent bathrooms, but from the entire space. Conversations and noises from the hallway are loud and clear, creating an overall lack of privacy and comfort. The staff are friendly, but their performance needs improvement. In particular, the front desk could communicate more effectively, as unclear information led to confusion. This place might suit budget-conscious travelers, but those seeking a quieter and more refined experience should consider other options.

We arrived to this hotel thinking it would be a five star resort (as it stated on the website). However, this was at most a 3*. The pictures online are very different to what it looks like in real life (worn and torn). It felt like I was deceived. The hotel lacks a lot love and hasn’t been taken care of in an extremely long time (I assume since it was Le Meridian). I don’t recommend a stay here until it has been refurbished. For the price, I’d expect much more. The staff however are lovely and Fonny was amazing! Even when I checked out a day early, she did her best to make me try and stay.

I’ve stayed at several hotels in Samui and am of the opinion that this is the best stay for the price. I really have zero complaints. Great service, healthy breakfast, beautiful scenery, clean and quiet rooms.
