Hotels near Avitip in Koh Samui

I don’t often write reviews, but always use them to make choices when looking to stay here. I booked this hotel to stay at for my son’s 10th birthday in January 2024. The room I booked was no refundable, but having read reviews I was happy to take the risk. 2 hours before we were due to travel there we received an email to say that their pool was closed due to unplanned renovations. Let’s be honest, this is the hotels only real selling point and the whole reason I booked it in the first place. Disappointed, we had no choice but to travel to the hotel to discuss things with their team in person. Arriving at the hotel it was a mess, almost looked derelict. Whoever took their hotel photos needs a pay rise, put it that way. It was clear that the work wasn’t unplanned, and in fact had been going on for some time. Letting guests know on the day they travel is obviously a ploy to prevent confrontation. We were told that we had the use of a pool at their sister hotel, 15 minutes away by shuttle. This runs every 2/3 hours. Not the fairy tail birthday I had in mind for my son if I’m honest. To compound things, the hotel refused to refund me my money and I had to pay again to stay at a hotel that was able to provide the facilities it promised. Looking back at the hotel, there were clear signs. They haven’t had a positive review since 2021, that tells its own story. If you are thinking of staying here, please don’t. The hotel is very refined, 14 rooms, very quiet, and really facing the sea, and the breakfast is very good, breakfast until 10 o'clock, the hotel everyone is polite and feels very warm! The only bad thing is that the hotel brother and I played three billiards, winning me a black ball every time, I don’t know how to put water... I will go back and practice, and I will get back the next time!

It was a perfect week spent other there. The decoration of this hotel based on the Thai boxing is exploited in every details. The room is very beautiful , have space , the bed is confortable and the view on the ocean is amazing. The location of the hotel is perfect for every tourist place and the access to the private beach is just amazing. The breakfast is very delicious and very fresh , it is changing every day and the fact that it is an « à la carte » menu is much more better than a classic buffet. The best is the staff , from the people at the swimming pool , the bar , the restaurant , the spa , the reception , the muai thaï trainer.All of them were just amazing , kind , friendly , very polite and respectful. Always would like to help us for any subject. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing time and perfect time.

Came to Koh Samui many times and noticed this hotel for the first time, a brand new hotel just opened. The location is perfect, right on the side of Grandpa and Mother Rock, and the beach is beautiful. The interior design of the hotel is full of sense, the interior is modern and minimalist, and the exterior is Thai style. There is a large parking lot and a well-designed front desk, which isolates the guest room area from the outside world with high privacy. In addition, the price of drinks and food in this hotel is moderate on Koh Samui, but the level of dishes in its restaurant is as high as never seen in Koh Samui. It is highly recommended.

Good choice for me. Staffs were courteous and helpful. And I enjoyed the outdoor pool greatly.

We had an absolutely perfect holiday at Rocky’s and that was down to both the resort itself and the wonderful, accommodating staff. The resort is absolutely stunning, a tropical paradise, and the staff made our stay so memorable, going above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. I proposed to my now fiancé during our stay and again the staff’s attention to detail to make the occasion so special was second to none. From the moment we arrived at the resort, we received the best service and assistance. The room was very big and spacious with big windows for lots of natural sunlight. The resort is right on the beautiful Lamai beach with sun loungers to chill and enjoy a drink. The area is very peaceful and perfect for unwinding. The resort has a massive swimming pool and a beautiful dining area outside. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this resort!

Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

Great location. We walked along the beach, this section is the best. The staff is responsive. Breakfast overlooking the sea is amazing. Plus it's pretty tasty. The mattress was tired, but the pillows were excellent. The pool is clean and good. Upon request, they brought a second blanket. The downsides are a tired mattress and a shower that flooded the entire floor in the bathroom. Just the whole thing. But the view from the window covered this minus. We asked for a floor other than the first floor and it was given to us. The bungalow did not seem very comfortable, but our room with a sea view was beautiful. Ready to return to this hotel. The pharmacy just around the corner is expensive, go a little further to the left. The pizza is delicious at the night market near the river on the right about 5 minutes.

Amazing hotel. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had. Champagne and fresh juice as much as you wanted. I got a lobster roll and eggs Benedict. Amazing! Hotel room couldn’t of been better! The jacuzzi bath perfection. Hotel couldn’t do any more. We even bought the robe and flip flops they were that comfy. Overall the hotel was lush. Would 10000% stay again. The pools and beach were so quiet which was fantastic.
