"Koh Samet has become a tourist destination and everything is expensive, whereas hotels and other things seem cheaper in Phuket. I went to Koh Samet because it's close to Bangkok, but it might be better to choose a different beach."

"I have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future."

"Silversand Resort offers a wonderful beachfront experience with an unbeatable location right on Ao Phai Beach. While only a few rooms are directly sea-facing, we stayed in a garden view room that was still well-appointed and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities for a relaxing stay. The buffet breakfast features a decent variety, including a live egg station, salad bar, breads, pancakes, rice, curry, vegetables, and fresh coffee. One small note is that the 10:00 AM cutoff for breakfast felt a bit early given the laid-back island atmosphere—perhaps a slightly extended timing would better suit guests on vacation mode. The resort maintains a no-smoking policy in its restaurant area (except some designated corner space), including the beachfront section. While this is appreciated from a health and family-friendly perspective, it may feel a bit restrictive for guests looking to fully unwind in an open-air setting. That said, the overall experience—from the location and food to the service and accommodation—was excellent. It is on the pricier side, but the quality and beachfront charm make it a worthwhile choice for couples or anyone seeking a relaxing island escape."

"The Hotel is very clean but the rooms are a little bit old kind of. The bathroom needs improvements or a renovation. The is big, coffee, kattle, hairdryer, towels and shampoo and shower gel is provided. Unfortunately the room is really dark, there is a window or glass door to get in, but if your room is at ground floor level, then there is not much sunlight. Location is super! Right in the middle of the city centre and very close to the Beach. The cleaning staff is really friendly, reception stuff is quite slow and not so welcoming. Overall it's a nice location to stay for a few days"

"A nice hotel located near the pier. Rooms are big and very comfortable for the price.  Unfortunately the service wasn’t great. The person at check-in showed us to the room and left the property. We couldn’t access the safe and wanted to rent a motorbike, but on calling them they didn’t want to come back to deal with it.  Overall though a good value place and would definitely stay again."

"Beautiful view, peaceful location, good service staff, polite and friendly. The swimming pool is secretly too salty. Beyond the general salt water pool I went down to play for just a moment and my skin hurt a lot. Breakfast options are a little less."

"Lovely location with beach access. We stayed in a Cottage room, which had a large king-size bed and a single bed. The mattress was firm. Although the room was more than adequate for our stay, it is not luxurious. No room service is provided, but rooms are cleaned daily. Breakfast was included and offered thai food and western based breakfast items ( although it was luke warm at best) The dinner menu was very thai, fish based, but they did have pizzas or burger and bbq items. I ate mainly thai. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, although a couple of times we ordered food or drink for it to never appear. Beach .. sea was lovely and clear , and sand was soft and clean. You can walk over to the neighbouring bay for more restaurant options. The usual downer is the people that insist on reserving sunbeds and barely using them... frustrating when they are unused for 4 or more hours."

"We returned here a year later because this particular beach is very ”sunk into the soul”. And what is worth noting: The modernization of the room stock was carried out, the house with a sea view turned out to be excellent in terms of amenities and with stunning sea views! New clean renovation, soft bed. They added a beach bag, a branded hat, and a bar in the refrigerator, like in five-star hotels. Well done! Commendable! The hotel's restaurant has delicious food. We were satisfied on all counts and are already planning a new visit 😉🎣 We returned here a year later because this particular beach is very ”sunk into the soul”. "The hotel is located in a remote area, but the scenery is not bad. The room is clean, but there are many ants and geckos. The shower is small and the water temperature is not good. I stayed in the top room, and the recliner was very old and had a sense of age. The chairs in the rooms below have been replaced, except for the last row, which is very tiring to climb the stairs, and has better privacy. After all, it is on the island, so the requirements cannot be too high. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 9:30. There are not many varieties. There are fewer Chinese people, but more foreigners. You must borrow a motorcycle here, otherwise it is very inconvenient."
