Perfect place for relaxing

This was a last minute change. Though not quite my style, we got an end-of-season discount that made it an excellent value, so I grabbed it. The buildings, rooms, and overall layout are very attractive, with well integrated grounds, pool and open air cafe and great views. It has the atmosphere of a high-end resort at a budget watchers price. Quite remote, it is located at the very tip of the island. No sandy beach here. The nearest restaurant is about 2 km away. Across the street is a National Park jungle so monkeys occasionally drop by for a visit. There is very good parking if you bring your car, but at the minimum, you'll want to rent scooters. The staff is very helpful at advising on various options. One piece of advice: they should do a little more maintenance. For such a nice place, details are noticable. For example, there is a spiral stairway ascending from in front of the reception to a jacuzzi on the roof. It is in need of fresh paint, and being a guest's first encounter, it reflects poorly on the site.

Amazing facilities all over the place. The room has everything you need and more for a super nice and comfy holiday, the pool and beach in the front have one the best views of the area. Delicious breakfast and food in general in their restaurant. The staff is amazing, super helpful and always available. Thank you very much!

I want to express my appreciation for the polite and welcoming attitude of every staff member we encountered during our stay, despite the challenging circumstances. However, it's crucial to share our experience to prevent others from facing similar disappointment. The photos displayed online present a misleading image; the entire 'resort' appears dilapidated and almost abandoned, far from the advertised representation. The premises were unkempt, rundown, and gave the impression of being unfinished or under construction. Surrounding amenities, such as shops, bars, or accessible beaches, were non-existent, and the 'free shuttle' promoted turned out to be a small, old boat hardly larger than a kayak. Additionally, the absence of a functional swimming pool, due to ongoing construction mentioned in an email received long before our check-in, was disappointing. Continuous disturbances like drilling and electrical noise persisted throughout the day. Upon arrival, we promptly informed the reception of our decision not to stay, highlighting the vast discrepancy between their advertised offerings and the reality we encountered. They were empathetic, refunding us 50% of the cost and providing a complimentary night in an upgraded room, given the island's peak season and limited alternative accommodations. Regrettably, our experience wasn't unique, witnessing other couples arriving with identical grievances and promptly leaving after just one night. It's disheartening to see a lack of dedication, investment, and attention to detail in a place marketed online as a luxurious resort. I must emphasize the exceptional politeness and helpfulness of all staff members, from the owner to the waiters and cleaners. However, due to our substantial financial loss and feeling misled, I find it necessary to share this review.

The hotel photos and description do not reflect the current poor state of this hotel. It is a hotel past its best and is showing many signs of deterioration. While the staff seem willing, they are unable to address the mounting problems and appear resigned to the hotel’s fate. Six dilapidated sun beds and one parasol is clearly inadequate for a hotel of this size. Having asked the staff for more, I was advised there were no more beds and the hotel had only one sun parasol (There is no other shade around the pool). In general the hotel grounds appear uncared for, the hotel rooms are tired, the bathrooms grubby, and the air conditioning is next to useless - it makes for an uncomfortable night. The hotel felt less than half full and, perhaps to offset the lack of income, the hotel appears to have offered almost exclusive use of the pool to a diving school. The divers do try to accommodate your wish to swim, but it doesn’t work as their equipment and training takes up most of the pool from 10am to 5pm and your confined to a small area. We had enough after our 2nd day and checked out 3 days early. There are far better choices for a hotel in Koh Chang, on an equal or smaller budget.

Beautiful & serene landscape. Simple & practical room. Friendly & super helpful staff. Feel more likes a peaceful stay in your holiday home than a bustling, full of activities hotel. A bit far in the southern most of the island but definitely worth the effort.
