I have always liked Hoshino's hotel. As the only hotel in Shikoku under the Hoshino Group, I have to support it no matter what. Fortunately, this trip is self-driving. If you rely on public transportation, the hotel's location is not convenient. The most criticized thing is that the parking fee is 1,000 yen per entry and exit. We booked 3 rooms for this family trip. All rooms have carpet colors to distinguish the inside and outside after entering the door. You have to take off your outer shoes and change into indoor slippers. The space of our 3-person suite is quite large, but the shoe-changing space in the twin room is very small and inconvenient. In addition, the hotel provides slippers for going out on the ground, and there is no shoe cabinet to place your own shoes, resulting in shoes all over the floor. Once the door is opened, the shoes are easily swept. Such internal and external designs are of course a bit of Japanese inn style, but in general hot spring inns, the luggage wheels are wiped clean by a special person before being dragged away on the internal floor tatami. The hotel cannot control the quality of the guests. It is estimated that many people drag their luggage directly into the room, so whether such a design is reasonable and hygienic should be considered again. There are also children's yukatas prepared but no children's slippers, which feels a little bit off. The limited-time yuzu bath that I was looking forward to turned out to be a yuzu-shaped plastic box filled with yuzu peel and flesh, which was different from the real apple bath I took in the Atami Resort before. I don’t know if yuzu is not resistant to soaking or what, I was a little disappointed. The Yosakoi dance performance in the hotel lobby at night was still very interesting. The dancers should be hotel employees. They danced very well and the overall interaction was very passionate! There was a problem with the booking platform and hotel regulations for children’s breakfast. In the end, Ctrip and the hotel gave a proper solution. Although there are not many types of breakfast, it is quite exquisite. Overall, it is still recommended.

The hotel’s service is super good, the front desk, restaurant waiters, and concierges are very enthusiastic. Although everyone has some language communication barriers, it does not affect mutual communication:) The rooms are a bit small and old, but very clean.

Close to JR station and booked a Japanese tatami room. There were about 9 tatami rooms, so I was lucky to stay for 2 nights. It was nice to have a large bath. In particular, the staff were very friendly and gave a lot of advice and help on the trip. The only inconvenience was the stairs at the entrance of the hotel.

The correspondence of all the staff of the hotel was very good. The large communal bath was also very good. It is within walking distance from Harimayabashi Bus Station and you can walk to sightseeing areas such as Kochi Castle. This room faces the Kagami River and the view from the balcony was good.

DdaitauchoiThe hotel is right next to JR Kochi, very convenient. This hotel looks very new, staff is nice, super great nippon breakfast, the room is very hygiene, shower head is strong, air-con is good.
LLillianyouSansuien is a very traditional, famous hotel in the center of Kochi. Many locals also come to the hotel to eat. The bath is very comfortable. It is a local hot spring♨️. The breakfast is also great. After leaving the History Museum, Kochi Castle, Hiroto The markets are very close and it is recommended to stay here.
GGuest UserSmoking was allowed in the room, which reminded me of an old karaoke booth, but the beds and shower rooms were clean.
The shampoo provided as an amenity had a nice lather.
No lotion or milk lotion was provided.
There were bus and tram stops within a 5-minute walk, and there were also many souvenir shops and bars, so it was convenient.
JJiangchuanmaijiuI have tried two types of apartments, both of which are suitable for a family of three with children. The room is spacious, the hotel breakfast is healthy, especially the juice is nutritious and delicious. Laundry is free, but there is nothing to eat nearby, and it takes seven or eight minutes to walk.
LLZHWhen we first arrived the front desk told us that we reserved a smoking room. In the trip.com booking it does not say so though. The front desk said all similar rooms for non-smoking were booked out.
We went up to the room but it smelled so bad that we asked agin for a different room showing them the booking. According to the hotel the booking was not directly forward to them by trip.com but by a different service therefore it varied from our actual booking. They were nice enough to give us a different room which was non-smoking. Unfortunately the room still smelled strange - at least no smoke smell.
Additionally there was almost no hot water coming out from the tap. In the photo the hot water was fully turned on.
Another issue was the parking. The one night stay fee was 1000 Yen (not for 24h). We checked out at 11 a.m. but decided to eat lunch in town and leave the car at the hotel parking. We took out the car at 2 pm and had to pay an additional fee of 1200 yen.
CChong Ee JayWithin 5 minutes walk from Kochi Train Station to the hotel. Not much eateries in the immediate 5 minutes radius but if you take a 10 minutes walk down or 5 minutes tram ride, you can find an entire street of local shopping and eateries. Do visit the Hirome Market and Kochi Castle which is nearby too!
Hotel receptionist do not speak much English but they are super hospitable and easy to communicate via English with them using an amazing translation device they have! Had to do luggage delivery service and they were super helpful!
Would definitely stay in this hotel the next time we visit Kochi!
GGuest UserThe room I stayed in was very clean and tidy. There is a TV, free wifi, the bathroom is very clean, the hardware facilities are first-class, and the service is very good. I will definitely stay here again in the future.
JJIEFrom JR Kochi Station, walk straight for about 400 meters and you will reach the hotel next to Kochi Bridge. There is a MY tour loop bus stop in front of Kochi Station, where you can go to the beautiful Katsura Beach and Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial. Walk 1.5 kilometers to Kochi Castle, and eat authentic Myojin Maru Kabayaki bonito along the way through Oiyamachi Shopping Street and the famous Hirosito Market. The hotel has complete facilities. On the top floor of the hot spring ♨️ across the road is the 711 convenience store, and there is a streetcar passing by the door.
キキャルベンIt was in the downtown area!!
I wanted to go to the famous gyoza stand Yasubei, and after looking into it, I found out it was only a short walk away, so it was super convenient!
There were lots of bars nearby, so it was the best place to enjoy Kochi at night!!
The hotel felt a bit old, but it was cleaned and well-maintained, so it wasn't a problem!!
I'd love to use it again!
GGuest UserAbout 15 minutes to Hirome Market! So you can drink and walk a lot !!!
This area is crowded because it is close to the station, so be careful when you come by car!
I made a smoking room cleanliness, but it smelled three times as bad as I imagined.
Did you smoke?!?! It was the smell of the place.
It may have been bad weather and I couldn't ventilate it.
Still karaoke hall level, so it's okay at all if you're heavy smokers🙆♀️
