The hotel does not like its guests and wants only to enrich itself. If you are unable to check in, the hotel will not refund your money and will not change the booking dates. We have cancel the booking a day before arrival, and asked to return at least a part of the money, or change the arrival date on three days. The hotel simply ignored and did not respond for more than a day. Tha hotel also did not answer for a day to trip.com which tried to help us just contact the hotel. A day later, the hotel responded to trip.com that he refuses to return the money for the all period of stay (not one night, but the whole booking period!), also refuses to change the dates of booking to 3 days later. We don't arrive on time, and we lost all the money paid for all the time. This is not the correct behavior of the hotel. They did not try to help and resolve the situation. They were just silent for a day, and they didn't answer us until today. Not recommended if you don't want to loose your money.

This was our second stay at Ao Pong Resort - and we enjoyed it as much as our first stay! This time we spend 9 days. Ao Pong Resort is a small and quiet place at the southeast part of the island with a private beach. The (Deluxe) bungalows are very nice. Not only the sleeping/living room is big, but also the bathroom area is spacious with separate bath and toilet rooms. The balcony is also very large with an awesome sea view. There is refrigerator, a fan, and air conditioner in the bungalows. The small private beach just outside the bungalows offers nice snorkeling opportunities. The Ao Pong Resort kitchen offers a delicious all day menu at reasonable prices. There is restaurants and convenient stores in walking distance. We rented a motor bike from the hosts which enabled us to get around the entire island very easily. The host couple are REALLY nice and will do their absolute best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We will for sure come back to Koh Mak, and there is no doubt that we will stay at Ao Pong Resort the next time as well. You can reach Michal via Ao Pong Resort Facebook page.
