Mira Montra Resort Koh Mak
4.7/555 Reviews
We have a great time staying at Mira Montra Koh Mak. Front desk is very kind and helpful. Room is clean, bed is super comfortable. Free to borrow kayak, sup board and snorkeling equipments. Thanks to N’ Chai for recommending snorkeling spot at Koh Phi, that we can go there by kayaking. At Koh Phi diving spot is full of sea anemone, pink anemone fish and pack of various kind of fish. But not recommend when strong wind, high wave and strong currents quite risk. Hope to have spend more days here again.
Goodview Kohkood

Very large room, clean, with two double beds, spacious bathroom with hot water. Kettle, fridge, wifi, air conditioning. Spacious veranda with sea view. Restaurant with good cuisine and terraces overlooking the sea. Personal, friendly, kind, smiling. Massage center inside the resort with skilled, smiling, very kind masseuses. Scooter rental on site.
The Mak Trat

The resort has a stunning outlook onto the sea, great, but small pool, great rooms, some with roof terraces & is very relaxed. The restaurant's food is superbly presented, however unfortunately, the service is poor and let it down. Both times we dined there we had to go and find our own menus, noone brought them to us. The food took a long time to come and, though it was well-presented, some of it was cold. They forgot my wife's main dish and despite enquiring about it twice with a waitress who didn't seem to speak English and just giggled and walked off, it never arrived. This was really disappointing and marred our stay which would have otherwise been very relaxing. After we complain they did eventually apologise and discounted out bill by one dish but it wasn't great. The resort can arrange golf buggy hire for you to tour the island for 800 THB for 5 hours (that and 10 hours only options - no shorter time) which is worth doing. Also nice to walk out on the sand when the tide goes all the way out
Peter Pan Resort @ Koh Kood
4.1/521 Reviews
Considering this was our most expensive accommodation on a 3 week tour of Thailand (Approx £178 per night for 2 adults and 1 child) this was our most disappointing hotel. We booked the ground floor Sea Horse so we’d have easy access to the beach and pool. First impressions were good, the views were incredible. However on closer inspection the bathroom was awful. It felt dirty, well in need of updating and had a terrible sewer smell, to the point we didn’t want to use it. The towels and sheets were all stained. Although the room was huge there’s no furniture to unpack anything, or surfaces to put anything. The kettle is no where near a plug. And there’s an unnecessary full size fridge freezer, when a wardrobe would be more useful. Although there was a large deck by the pool there was no drying rack and no seating which would have been nice to make the most of the pool which was pretty much just for decoration. The breakfast was terrible with very little choice. The staff were mostly indifferent, never very friendly or smiley. The only redeeming feature was the beach which was absolutely stunning. Though only 12 sun loungers for the whole resort. To warrant the price they’re charging they need to completely renovate the bathrooms, invest in some furniture and towels.
I-Lay House Koh Kood
4.1/525 Reviews
This corner of Koh Kood cannot be described as really good value for money. The I-Lay stands out in a positive way. We booked a room, only to find out that it was supposed to be a permanent tent -??!-. So we rebooked because we were expecting a bungalow. It worked after some replanning by the owner of the small resort. The owner really tried hard, was nice and friendly. But it was an emergency solution, as it was fully booked. The bungalow was not supposed to be rented out. Why? Well, everything was fine!!! On the 3rd day of our holiday, a thunderstorm rained down during the night for several hours. (Anyone who has experienced this in Thailand knows what I am talking about.) Tons of water without end. At some point the roof under my bed gave way and it started leaking through. What? I took it with humor. It is just a resort suitable for everyday use. 3 hours later everything was dry again anyway. Absolutely positive: friendliness. If you want to get into the ”flow” of the resort, it is a top destination for relaxation. You ”slow down”. And it's immediately part of the resort. Choose breakfast the night before (no buffet - why throw away 40% of the breakfast buffet afterwards???). Good! Unlimited coffee (unfortunately only instant - my only criticism!!!!). Scooters are also available for hire. We got the newest one with just 80km on the clock and really broke it in. The thing was really ”toxic” afterwards! Conclusion: If you don't need ”blinking” ”blinking” and ”fancy stuff”, this is a fantastic place. (I don't need anyone to clean up after myself). Overall, an absolute recommendation - but not for club vacationers!!!
Koh Kood Paradise Beach
4.5/554 Reviews
Great location, and good, spacious rooms (although it takes time to get used to locking the doors). However, staff service is poor. At breakfast, staff doesn’t seem to be happy with what they’re doing and would sometimes ignore guests. The staff cooking the eggs were kind though. Resort also doesn’t offer ground coffee drinks so we got stuck with powdered coffee until we found out about the two coffee shops that are walking distance from the resort. Food can be improved too: breakfast’s okay but doesn’t offer diversity. You’ll get bored with the food after a few days. Beach and the sunset is marvelous though!
