Ko Kut District Hotels with Swimming Pools

It was a 3-day-and-2-night trip with my friends and my 9-year-old daughter so we booked 2 villas with a private swimming pool. The villas are not new or super neatly cleaned but all are okay and kind of acceptable. The best thing is the resort staff. They are super nice, fun and friendly. They are ready to drop everything they are doing just to talk to you and answer your question. No matter how silly it is! They make me feel like they are ready to solve all the problems in the world for you, if asked! My daughter loves fishing there (even though she didn't get any fish lol). We borrowed the fishing rod from one of the nicest (probably) front desk staff who didn't seem to be bothered spending time teaching my daughter how to safely use the equipment. Wish I could ask for his name before we left. So I could give him better compliment. The view is just magical. Kayaking is also super fun. The Food is ways, ways better than we expected. The night bartender is a super cool & funny guy. He hosted the funniest Hermit crab racing in the world!

Une honte! Nous sommes arrivés à l’hôtel Suanya pour passer quelques jours au calme et dans un cadre idyllique. Malheureusement ce ne fut pas le cas…. À la découverte du cadre nous avons été enchanté cet enchantement s’est très vite transformé en déception puis en colère. En effet la chambre qui nous a été proposé se trouvait être insalubre! Elle ne se situe pas dans le complexe de l’hôtel mais à l’extérieur dans un bâtiment qui ne donne aucune envie d’y entrer! Aucune fenêtre, un « balcon » donnant sur les égouts! La salle de bain était le pire de cette « chambre » présence de saletés de moisissures et de rouilles sur la porte et la robinetterie! L’aération donnant sur les égouts des vagues d’odeur immonde imprégnaient la pièce, de plus la présence de trous laissaient tout le loisir aux divers insectes d’investir notre « chambre ». Le lit n’avait pas de couverture nous en avons demandé et nous avons eu le droit à un plaid et une serviette… Nous avons demandé au personnel de changer de chambre mais pour seul réponse nous avons eu « c’est complet! ». Le personnel n’a eu aucune considération pour notre bien être, peu aimable dans toute circonstances. Nous avons donc quitté l’hôtel plus tôt pour trouver meilleur et dans des prix similaires! A fuir!

Well, after a lot of searching we finally found a place on the beach, away from the bigger resort areas, within our budget, and overall, we weren't disappointed. The good The location is ideal. Right on a stretch of gorgeous sand with a shallow stretch of sea protected by a shelf of rocks a hundred metres offshore. With young kids, nothing could have been better. Crystal clear waters, clean beaches, and just what the doctor ordered. The staff were very welcoming, and the resort provides free masks and snorkels as well as skiffs for up to three people to paddle out over the shallow sea. There are plenty of fish to see so it's definitely worth taking advantage of these. There's a great collection of tables, sun loungers, swings, and hammocks for you to use, and most have umbrellas to protect you from the harsh May sun. It was incredibly hot at this time and I don't think we were quite prepared for that. The staff were very responsive when we asked for some things to be fixed in the room, such as a missing towel rail from the bathroom, an iced-up fridge, a broken remote control. and these are were resolved within a day or two. Perhaps the best thing about the resort is the restaurant and bar. The food was, we thought, exceptional value and of really good quality. My daughter couldn't eat enough of the spaghetti with pork and tomato and the spaghetti with bacon and chilli is excellent. Also good value is the barbecue set which we had for lunch at least twice. There's enough for 3 or 4 people with just one set. The bar is a great place to relax in the evening though I wish they were a bit more imaginative and varied with their happy hour cocktails. The not so good I've mentioned the problems with the fixtures and fittings in the room. What I find annoying is that guests need to tell staff that a towel rail has been removed, and that the fridge is so iced up as to be unusable. For the price, these things should be checked at least between guest bookings. The wooden laminate flooring in the bungalows has been pretty badly warped and there are gaps between the ends of the boards. This doesn't give a good first impression but perhaps the most annoying thing about the room was the design of the bathroom which seems to have been done by someone with no sense of what should go where. When you open the door to the bathroom, it brushes the side of the toilet seat, which inevitably means the toilet seat is constantly loose. Mad idea to put a toilet just inside a door. I don't think I've ever come across a design like that before. The shower location and the way it's attached to the wall means that anything near the sink gets totally soaked unless you want to remove the shower from the fitting and hold it while you shower. I think a bit of care and effort when designing the bathrooms would have paid off. But perhaps the worst thing of all is the breakfast. Considering the main restaurant food is pretty good, you'd expect breakfast to be along similar standa

Everything was wonderful. The idea of ​​an open-air bathroom is more interesting than convenient. As for the place itself: everything would be ok, but apparently the Thais are ok with the fact that the beach, on which they actually live, is littered with garbage, and there are bags and plugs floating in the water near the shore. As a result (and we were at several resorts on the island), eco-entertainment appears - vacationers themselves clean the water and the beach from garbage, put it in one place, and the staff smiles and watches this...... apparently this is a local feature.

Great location, excellent Beach Bar and crystal clear waters. Staff very friendly & helpful, Food was very good & good value. Bungalows less brilliant with some routine maintenance not being noticed or attended to. For example, in our bungalow the curtains were hanging on by a thread with a broken centre bracket & many missing/broken rings. No way to securely lock yourself in at night - just a piece of ill-fitting wood to hook over the handles of the sliding doors, which could easily be lifted from outside with a piece of card, etc. The toilet cistern was permanently filling (although far enough away from the bed not to disturb us). On the plus side there was a free room safe and aircon and an enormous comfortable & clean bed. Nice grounds & gardens.

Considering how remote it is, the island is worth a visit. We can't expect to be able to come to such a small and cozy place with an airport, now, can we? Well, this place will no longer be a private residence, yes... every beautiful modern The bungalows are a little paradise of their own. The hotel rooms and pool and restaurant are quaint and elegant, so everything is immaculate. The staff are great. I like not being bothered by the western style of sales. I wanted to ask what I wanted, and with that, I was never interrupted, never interrupted, when I asked for a drink. Really, waking up to such an affordable drink served in a glass with ice is an absolute treat in such a beautiful location. The open restaurant is just a few steps away from the sea. Great food for such a low price. Super easy walkways lead to each private bungalow. It's not a great feeling to read the reviewers' comments, well, where do you think you're going to travel? If you feel like you belong in this resort, then here you go. It reminds me of the feeling and atmosphere when I first visited Koh Chang 20 years ago. Just, such high end. To create the atmosphere, it costs double to stay in these rooms compared to the rest of the world. Yes, there is shallow water and very attractive black rocks. Before you go, please take note of this and please enjoy this beautiful pool. You can also rent a motorbike or golf cart to go to the beach. Everyone is happy here and a review on trip advisor can really make a difference in a person's life and business. Please take into account where we are talking, for example, there are no remote islands where the wifi would not be without signal. And just because a server isn't an *****, doesn't mean he doesn't want to help you. We really love this resort, we were there last February and we will be going back this November. We've been all the way to Thailand just to get pah bala. It's quiet, all private and the house feels perfect. Please make sure to contact me when you have specific questions. Resort is on top of a hill so no direct beach access. Closest beach is cococape beach which is beautiful and if you just go around the corner you will have a lonely beach with beautiful dark rocks stuck in the white sand. Another great beach is close to seavana and koh mak resort about 15 min walking. Motorbike rental is 250 baht per day and gas ablut 40 baht per liter. Massages are 350 baht per hour. It was the best massage I had in all of Thailand. Kayak rental can be done at cococape or koh mak resort. Hotel has a pick up service for free when you arrive at the pier. There are many live concerts at various locations on the island as well as fireshows and night markets. The resort itself is very clean, quiet, AC works fine and shower has hot water. Pool is cleaned everyday and breakfast was very good. Staff is super friendly. I paid about 90 USD per night which is a high price for koh mak, but compared to other resorts it is very high standard resort. Never had problems with sandflies (I stayed for 8 days) but I do recommend to take mosquito spray.

We chose this place without knowing much about the island of ko mak. The hotel is very pleasant, green environment, the huts are pretty and clean, the swimming pool is a big plus and pleasant. The only concern is that you have to rent a scooter to get around, which was done through the hotel.
