There are only good things to say. From the pickup at the airport until the drop-off, everything was spot on. Food is great. Brian makes sure that every element of your stay is perfect. The fishing equipment is great. The boats are great. The guides are great, whether it's tying on a fly, netting a fish, changing leaders, instruction, or getting you unsnagged, they're on it before you ask. The lodging exceeded expectations. The main lodge was perfectly set up. Camp dogs were super friendly too. Terrace airport is a breeze. I had a steelhead on for a run and we caught pinks endlessly. Maybe next time we'll get into the wanted steelhead.

During our week at Skeena Spey, my wife and I both caught and released fish, although the hot, sunny weather made the fishing difficult. We mostly did guided fishing on the Skeena, a very famous wide but comparatively shallow river, but we also spent a guided day on the Kitimat, a smaller river with some deep runs. Both were exceptionally beautiful. Since the weather was sunny and very hot, the fish were not especially bitey; we'd have hoped for more overcast weather, but that was out of the control of the lodge owner. Altogether, we had a most enjoyable week. Skeena Spey accepts guests for any number of days/nights, unlike many lodges that only book for blocks of a week. The cabins are individual A-frames, with private bathroom in each and ceiling fans. There is heat for cold weather. The lodge is looking into installing air conditioners for hot weather, but the ceiling fans helped the cabin to cool off nicely at night and we found the cabin very comfortable. The lodge itself is extremely beautiful and rustic, with a cozy dining room/bar at which guests ran tabs, and a capacious sitting room with comfortable furniture, a beautiful pool table and a fly tying desk. A tackle shop well stocked with quality fishing equipment, clothing and fly tying materials was open upon request. The two highly experienced guides with whom we fished, Adrienne and Mike, were very simply superb guides and absolutely lovely people. At our request, they each brought a dog on the river with them, which made the experience even more fun. They were energetic, helpful, charming, fun, and real treats to chill with on the rivers. They both were among the best guides we have fished with and were proficient and not overbearing instructors. We had not expected the quality of the meals. The food isn't just good, rather the meals were gourmet quality excellent. Dom and Seb, the chef and sous chef, Vinnie the bartender, Arièle the sommeliere, Mik the utility staff member, and Laurie the houskeeper were all very friendly and could not do enough to make us comfortable. Brian, the co-owner/operator of Skeena Spey, is a highly accomplished and well known casting instructor and fly rod designer. He took us out one morning to give us each a casting lesson, teaching us to make single spey, snake roll, and Perry Poke casts. His instruction was excellent. Skeena Spey is a wonderful place, and we look forward to returning!

Every aspect of Skeena Spey Riverside Lodge is top notch service, friendly staff, knoledgable guides, great food, nice cabins, fishing is 100 ft walk to the jetboats. The atmosphere is "we are all friends and family" betwen guests and staff. They make you feel welcome and sets an at mood the makes a very enteraining evening at the guests shared dining tables. It just makes you relaxed. After seven hours of speycasting the food is the great reward. Just outstanding!

This is a special place that merits your consideration if you are interested in fly fishing. The Steelhead fishing is the main prize you are wanting, but there are many "lesser" fish you will enjoy catching. There are people from all over the world here seeking to cross that one (a Steelhead) off their bucket list. Sadly, they are elusive and very hard to catch on a fly! We did get two on a spinner, and they are great fun to land! It is a tough fighting fish that is a pleasure to catch and release--as is done with all fish caught. The day is 8 hours long and the wading can be challenging with the rocks and current. The sun can be a challenge. Be certain to have full face protection and gloves! The food is really excellent for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is on the shore or boats and is a decent box lunch. The lodge serves liquor in camp, but not on the water--which is smart. Drinking on the river is far too dangerous! The sleeping cabins are spartan, but comfortable. The single beds are a little too small for those used to a king sized bed, but you adjust. The lodge provides all the gear. That makes packing to get here far easier. Waders are critical for fishing in the cold water, but some seem to do well without them. All trips on the river are with experienced guides. They are well versed and friendly. They are excellent fly fishers! Getting here is not easy. There are a minimum of two flights from just about anywhere. Getting to Vancouver is the easy part, but finding a flight to Terrance is far more challenging. You will have to stay overnight in a hotel prior to being picked up at a local hotel or the airport if you get the early flight. BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN TO CHECK THE SMALL PLANE FLIGHT ONTIME RECORD PRIOR TO BOOKING--some are far better than others. The countryside is absolutely beautiful. That attached pictures do not do it justice because it is a 360 view on every cast!

Had an absolute blast here once again. All the staff is friendly and go above and beyond day in and day out. The food is out of this world and the runs are as fishy as they can’t get. Can’t wait until next year!

This was my second trip to Skeena Spey. The accommodations are great with great common areas for hanging out and chatting and great privacy in individual A-frames. The food is great. The guides are great, and the scenery is outstanding. I want to go in 2023; please don't book before I get my slot nailed down. Brian Niska is exceptionally helpful. My age is beginning to show a bit, and things got done without ever making me feel patronized. Always get your Caesar with two shots; it's the only way to fly.
