Balos Beach

Amazing beach!! The water was so clear and clean. There are no facilities on the beach. Take umbrellas and lots of water and packed lunch. Its a huge place. It was very busy when we got there. Many families young people enjoying themselves. I absolutely loved it.

We took a boat tour from Kisamos to Gramouvsa and then from the latter to Balos Beach. Both Gramouvsa & Balos had relatively warm water, but the area had Too many rocks. I had to be extra careful not hurt myself. but WAY It was like traversing a cave!

This can be a 5 star hotel but chooses to stay on low level. If you are looking for comfortable and luxurious, go somewhere else. They have a nice pool area and beautiful views but so many things are not thought through to make it a good hotel. We took the executive sweet with private pool in the new building but here's the catch: The beds are not really comfortable ( don't get me started on the pillows) - if they can provide comfortable pillows and a better, bigger bad, that would elevate the sleeping experience. The AC is very loud and close to your face so, you can imagine. The private pool is kind of not working because there is a protective layer around it which really hurts the buzz and beauty of it all. The outside area has no fan or air flow, the entire thing is not designed at a smart level which will allow it to be a 5 star experience. The food is just nothing special or tasty and when you get breakfast and dinner, you have to pay for water at dinner. There is no AC in the food area or the hotel in general and the showers for guests who are leaving is in very poor conditions. The outside pool area needs a lot of fixes and much better shade. This hotel has all the elements of becoming a 5 star hotel or at least 4 but they lack the experience and knowledge to do so. If you go there, keep your expectations low. The service by the way - is actually pretty great!!! To summarize- if you come to this hotel keep in mind it's a 3 star hotel - for a 3 star hotel it's really nice but remember- 3 stars and not one more.

A bit tired but all in all a great stay. Close to the treacherous track that leads to Balos Beach if you fancy an explore. Room/bathroom was very spacious and the views over the sea were spectacular. Breakfast was mediocre…not high quality but good variety. Restaurants nearby like Gramvousa and Motakis a must.

The hotel is in a quiet location just outside of Kissamos and a short drive to Balos Lagoon (about 30 minutes). The facilities are nice and we enjoyed the pool. We had an apartment room which was comfortable but could use with some updating (new pillows, one AC unit made a loud whistle noise). I'm a light sleeper but I slept very well. The breakfast was good but a bit over-priced. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. We appreciated the lovely welcome gift.

I have been travel many hotels and meet different desk reception. Balos beach is best of all ( Liliana. Fotini. Janis. Joy) those people provide best experience when you tourist island also guid you where to start highly recommend if you are first time in the Crete.
