A very pleasant two weeks in this hotel. Excellent for the beach based quite holiday. Good bus service if you want to go the 40 kilometres to Chania. Otherwise to travel, a rental car I presume is essential. Comfortable beds and good shower room. Good choices for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Does what it says on the tin, the Hotel Hermes is a great base for anyone looking for a beach holiday that isn’t going to break the bank! Closely located to tavernas, shops and the local beach you have everything you need on your doorstep! Pros - *Great Pool *Good Breakfast - buffet with continental and hot options *Stephania was fantastic - recommended an incredible winery tour and informed us of the bus service and how to get there! (Thanks again Stephania!!) Cons- *Very small bathroom and tiny bath with shower over it - difficult to shower it was so small *Rooms/decor/windows/balcony could do with a freshening up *We had a room at the front and noise from the street was very loud, it felt like the windows were open at times - loud traffic/motorbikes from very early disturbed sleep on several occasions *Rooms are only cleaned every 3 days, would be nice to have fresh sheets, towels and bins replaced more often Overall, Hermes is a good place for those who need a base to sleep and shower when exploring the local area/having a beach holiday and the nice breakfast is a bonus!

Very nice place to stay! Great staff, (special thanks to the receptionist i think his name was yannis and the cleaning laidy leda )comfy bed and pillows, good breakfast and very clean! Nice big clean pool. Enjoyed my stay here very much and would definitely come back. Short drive to falasarna beach.

My friends and I loved our stay, the breakfast was up to standard, as were the room and the pool area. It’s was a very enjoyable stay thanks to the friendly stuff, especially Kiki who works at reception, who went over and beyond to make sure our stay was an unforgettable one. Highly recommend.

We spent three nights in mid-August in this hotel. Indeed the hotel is on the side of the main road and the traffic is very heavy. Morning and evening traffic jams because it is the road to go to Balos, Elafonissi etc. Parking available in front of the hotel . On our arrival, a really charming and helpful welcome from Stéphania who speaks French and is very professional, really a positive point for this hotel. Then discovery of the room on the 2nd floor with a view of the main road. Correct room, clean, fridge, air conditioning and small balcony. The bathroom is small but for three nights... The only big problem is the noise from the road . We asked to change rooms to be at the back of the hotel but in fact and good to know all the rooms for 3 people are on the road side!! we had to sleep with sleeping bags for the 3 nights. We were able to take advantage of the swimming pool area at the back of the hotel, which was very pleasant and quiet in order to relax after our days of excursions. The breakfast is complete. We ate in restaurants on the beach around the hotel in the evening within walking distance. In summary we enjoyed our stay because the bedding is comfortable and the swimming pool area is pleasant but too much noise in the room even if we only stayed there at night. The hotel is very well located for visiting the west of Crete, good value for money but you have to have a room at the back of the hotel.

Booked for seven nights through an agency (from 6 to 13/9/2023). We arrived at 10pm and the receptionist immediately behaved very rudely. We had booked (at the beginning of July...) a triple room (we have a 7 year old girl), but it was not available. He gave us a double room saying that since the child was 7 years old we could also sleep in a double bed. After several complaints, he put us in a service room (triple...) which was dilapidated (leaks, broken fridge, various leaks in the bathroom). Next morning same thing with another receptionist. We managed to have "our" room on the 4th day (out of 7...). The only positive note: a lady at the reception seen for two mornings: helpful and polite. Acceptable breakfast. Bad wifi. Comfort and services in general: 2 stars. First experience in Crete. Stunning island, hotel to forget. We will return to Crete, definitely never to the Hermes.

Excellent hotel with strategic location. The staff is welcoming and very kind, ready to give you tips on what to see, where to eat, and if necessary, to book some services for you. In front of the hotel there is the beach and the town center is a few minutes' walk away. A 15-20 minute drive takes you to Falasarna and about an hour to Elafonissi. The breakfast buffet is truly excellent, offering both the classic sweet and savory selection and some typical dishes. The cleanliness of the rooms is very good and they are redone every day. Having stayed in mid-September, we always found a place in the hotel car park. We had a great time
