Schuchmann Wines Château,Villas & Spa

It’s a wonderful place for the one day visit. Beautiful views, tasty food, but it’s not a good option for staying, because rooms are not comfortable, our room had some problems with electricity. Also, the main building has a problems with sounds isolation. The hotel’s territory is great, but the billiard and mini golf needs to be repaired. I don’t think, that I will come back to stay more than one night.

We had a two night stay and were upgraded to a family room (Room 1) which had two bedrooms and two shower rooms. Rooms are simply furnished but functional, perhaps a bit outdated and dark and could do with a room safe. Our room had a separate sitting room as well. The shower rooms are adequate but with old fashioned shower heads and could do with upgrading. Breakfast is quite rudimentary and spartan but the evening dinner was very good indeed. Package included a wine tasting and visit to the winery both of which were well conducted and we were able to try some additional wines at dinner for minimal cost. The property has a spa and outdoor swimming pool and has enormous potential with a bit of upgrading. The setting is magnificent and staff were friendly and we would certainly use it again.

As you enter the estate you realize that your hotel is a big farm house surrounded by a vineyard. You smell the scent of wines and all you need to do is simple to ease your pace in order to enjoy the peaceful setting. The room is as expected from 3 stars hotel ,A bit dated , no safe in the room and the curtains doesn’t block the light as the sun rise up ,but these are minor difficulties in my opinion. The restaurant of the hotel is very good, the food is authentic Georgian and we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere as the restaurant is located on a terrace overlooking the vineyard. We also enjoyed a wine bath and a massage at the wine spa of the hotel. We planned to tour the area but decided to stay the whole three nights at the hotel as it was so relaxing. Last but not least I must point out Nina who gave us a very knowledgeable tour of the wine production of Schumann ,and gave us good recommendations about wine tasting .

I really anticipated staying at such a formidable wine estate while attending the Tsinandali Music Festival, located just a few minutes away. The online photos lead me to believe that this was a real luxury resort, at a very high standard. (Those little hot tubs from the photos, however, were not working, and there was no operative mini golf). My experience was mixed: my room in the lodge was dreary and not deserving of a 4 star rating in my estimation. I had to schlep my luggage up to the third floor. My room was very small, not well cleaned, had only basic furnishings and poor quality bedding, the bathroom fixtures were outdated, and there were insufficient electrical outlets. I did, however, enjoy the pool, which was very welcoming and refreshing. My free wine tasting was truly great: I had a personal tour, the guide knew English well, and answered my questions. When I was seated for a tasting, they were more than generous - pouring me 3 glasses of wine along with the Gold Chacha, and then offered to refill the glass which I loved the most. This was accompanied by a lovely plate of bread with regional dips. From here I ordered dinner, which was good, and which was presented in a very straightforward and unassuming manner. While not amazing, it was nevertheless quite good and a solid value for the money. The daily breakfast, served on the breathtaking balcony overlooking the estate, was good, but not earth shattering: there were no fresh breads, and no ready made coffee. The main hot dishes lacked freshly cooked eggs and, while there were cut vegetables, there were no ready made salads. I can't understand why they didn't serve more local fruits, sticking only to melons, as all the local produce markets had a wide variety of seasonal fruits. All in all, I think that the accommodation was slightly overpriced, although the overall experience was certainly positive and memorable.

We had an absolutely amazing time! The food, accommodations and wine was superb! The views were unbeatable from anywhere on the property. The sommelier was so informative and the spa was so amazing!!! Highly recommend the wine treatment and massages!
