Beautiful setting, great service and food. The team are welcoming and friendly, with a great selection of home cooked foods and a wide range of drinks all reasonably priced. Some of our favourite things were: the quirky decor with lots of lovely things to grab your attention, the setting-right by a stream, all of the four legged friends that are welcomed, the toilets were well stocked with everything you could need from perfume to toiletries and brilliant artwork. We would definitely return.

We called here on a quiet lunchtime and the lady behind the bar could not have been more helpful. The portion sizes were plentiful and the food very tasty, especially the al dente vegetables which were perfect. We called her on a drive around Mallerstang and we hope to return very soon.

We found this little gem by accident, and so pleased we did! Gorgeous food at reasonable price. I had the fish pie with seasonal vegetables, my husband had the steak and Guiness pie in a flaky pastry bowl - which was enormous! My sister had the chilli jacket potato, with sald and coleslaw. Excellent portion size on all meals, with quality ingredients. A Shiraz and ginger beers to enjoy, all well priced. A special shout out to Martin who took our order and couldn't be more helpful, also to the member of staff who moved his car to allow us to park ours. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend

I just fell in love with this lady. I watched her on the t.v..I just loved her persona and accent. She was 5 star. She is my type of women. I could make a case for me and my life as it is and just sometimes we never meet that right person,it doesn't happen does it. That's a shame. X

A great place to stay for visiting this area of the Dales for those who love traditional inns . Lovely comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms, good restaurant popular with locals with varied menu and friendly and welcoming staff. On site car park and easy access from the main routes.

We had the most enjoyable Sunday Lunch we've experienced in a long time. Our first visit here on the recommendation of a friend, and will definitely call again. The meals were superbly cooked, melt in your mouth roast meats, tasty vegetables and huge Yorkshires. The atmosphere was friendly, as were the very efficient, professional and attentive staff. We highly recommend The Black Bull, and look forward to visiting again, thank you.
