The Victoria

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, friendliness, food and service at this lovely traditional Yorkshire Dales pub. The food was excellent quality and cooked to perfection with a great variety of beers to accompany it. We enjoyed everything so much that we continued to eat here several evenings and will be back again sometime.

We had an amazing time at the Victoria. Awesome views, staff very helpful especially Michael the head waiter. Micheal made our special evening meal extra special and the food was gorgeous. Thank you all , hope to see you soon. My husband is disabled and the staff very kindly carried our luggage up and down the stairs. Ann and Neil

Nice country inn. Narrow, steep stairways a bit of a hassle to maneuver with luggage, but staff was quick to offer help at all times. The room was a comfortable size (important since we got rained out one day while the restaurant/pub were closed !) and nicely decorated. The bathroom is a bit small with a small sink and small shower, but plenty of hot water to warm up after getting caught in the rain. Breakfast was the fully cooked version and delicious - the ingredients all tasted fresh. We had dinner at the on premises pub and it too was delicious. I can imagine that the National Park area must get swarmed in the summer, so this was a nice retreat while still within walking distance of the park (about a mile away) Welcoming hospitality and good beers on tap.

A few of us were staying in a local holiday cottage between Xmas and New Year and decided to eat in The Victoria Inn on the first night of our stay. The pub was busy when we arrived but got much quieter as the evening wore on. The menu is limited but the food was hearty and well cooked. Pies are the one of the speciality dishes on the menu, though it would have been good to have a vegetarian pie as an option, as all the pies were meat. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would eat here again if staying in the area.
