Snooty Fox

Great pub in the centre of a pretty town. Found the pub whilst staying locally. Pleasant atmosphere and dog friendly (can eat inside). All food needs (allergy & fussy eaters) were catered for by the happy and welcoming staff. The food was delicious and plentiful. The only reason I have given 4 star is due many options were unavailable due to delivery failure, which cannot be helped but selection was limited.

Decent and clean accommodation but appalling food. Poorly managed with I suspect not much staff training.Greeted with fire alarm liability waiver as pub isn’t staffed overnight. The young ladies behind the bar were friendly but the young men waiting couldn’t have been less interested in good service. Food arrived late and frankly inedible. Salad wilted and served on a hot plate with a chemical tasting dressing out of a bottle.“Roast” chicken was a tough leathery flattened grilled piece of meat with dried out vegetables and mashed potatoes which were dry. Strongly suspect a lot of the food was frozen and inexpertly reheated.Large screens throughout the pub and even in what would otherwise be a pretty beer garden. So many lovely places to eat in Kirkby Lonsdale it was so frustrating we came here!

I travel to the Lake District multiple times a year and I always make an effort to pop into the snooty fox . I would recommend to anyone who is visiting Kirkby Lonsdale to visit the snooty fox . The staff are kind caring funny and are always willing to go above and beyond to meet any of my needs . And most importantly they always have lovely energy that makes you feel welcome. I’d like to say Lois Hannah and Henry made this trip even more special with there amazing energy and good banter . I would recommend anyone thinking of visiting to come for a drink or to stay over for there holidays . A amazing place with amazing people . The manager Rae was more than amazing in meeting every need our family required .

Worst food & service ever experienced! We’d booked a table at the Snooty Fox for a family get together. The lady at the bar took our food order at 7.50pm, but it took over an hour for our starters to arrive & it was after 10pm when our main meals finally arrived. There was obviously not enough staff and the lady waiting on our table was also trying to man the bar at the same time. Food was very poor quality, garlic bread was like cardboard, chicken was tough & obviously warmed up in a microwave. What was meant to be an enjoyable family get together was ruined. Needless to say, we won’t be returning. We had booked rooms at the Snooty Fox for another family get together in December but have now cancelled.

Popped in here for drinks and to watch the football. Place was very busy and the staff were rushed but still pleasant and friendly. It has a good atmosphere and a good selection of drinks and cocktails. Shame our footy team lost but worth the visit.

Staying in KL for short break and called in for a drink. Staff very welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Food looked good though we'd already eaten. Nice selection of drinks. Decent range of well kept cask ales. Absolutely great value. A G&T with tonic was £3.90. My pint of Timothy Taylor was £.2.75 with a special deal on Tuesdays. Wish we'd found it sooner instead of at the end of our stay! They have rooms and would certainly stay here on our next visit.
