A very good hotel with a nice view. You can overlook Sakurajima, Maruo Onsen, and the Kirishima Mountains. The hotel's hot spring is good but a bit old, but other facilities are okay. Take a train from Kagoshima or Miyazaki to Kirishima Jingu Station. Opposite the train station picture 3 is the station picture 4. Take the bus and get off at Maruo Onsen. The hotel is 40 meters ahead. The bus timetable is shown in Figure 1 and Figure 6 (Figure 6 is out of service on weekends and ❌ is out of service on Figure 1, only ❌ is not drawn in Figure 1). It was very spacious for our family of four. Kirishima Jingu Shrine and Shinhwari Park are worth visiting. You can see Figure 9. The surrounding hot spring plaza and Maruo Falls are very close, so you can go shopping. The hotel buffet is pretty good. Go early, the Japanese are crazy about grabbing the buffet, and many items are not available for a while, so don't get stuck in going early. You can get skin care products from DHC in the lobby.

Hotel Kyocera is probably one of the largest hotel in Kirishima. It has two buildings ( main and annex) and looks quite good architecturally. They are connected by a bridge on the 3 floor which has the walking escalator- and a display of the various places that have been listed as world heritage sites in Japan. Inside the main building, there is a glass church which is ideal for weddings. In the basement, there is a large onsen, and spa. It is certainly a good place for having a holiday. The overall condition of the rooms are good- and the rooms are of good size. My room faces the East and has a perfect view of sunrise! The room was renovated and the room was beautiful. A historic inn where Ryoma Sakamoto and famous literary masters stayed. I'm sorry I didn't take an open-air bath due to the typhoon, so I want to revenge someday. It was really comfortable with four kinds of hot springs, including sauna and water bath, all at the right temperature and hanging! I couldn't walk around the garden, but there are many exhibits in the hall, and it was good to be able to enjoy free drinks while watching the illuminated cedar forest from the lounge. It seems that there were many cancellations due to the typhoon, and there were few people and it was very comfortable. The large garden communal bath was fluttering with rain and wind. If you want to say it's too bad, I'd be happy if you had a free drink of freshly made coffee.

We arrived at the hotel at night and had already had dinner time. We have contacted the hotel before departure and hope they can arrange it. When the results arrived, the hotel staff specially arranged our dinner, which tasted good and served first-class! We booked a Canadian cabin and it feels warm and comfortable. The hot springs are also very comfortable. I will definitely come back next time!

We came her in Feb 2022 for a weekend getaway from the city. Glad we did.All of the room will have a city view but if you book one of the corner rooms, you will not only get a nice tatami area for viewing but will have a city and mountain view, but be sure to get the top 2 floors for the best view. Also, if you book rooms ending in 01, 02, or 03, these will be closest to the elevators (the rooms were pretty well insulated against noise). The property also has a public onsen bath. To access it take a short automatic tram ride to a separate lounge area stocked with ice cream and drinks, then a short walk to the bath house. Along the way you will see a few cabanas that you can use to have a nice picnic when the weather permits. Meals are served in a semi-private space, meaning you will have a room but noice from the other guest do bleed through since the walls do not go all the way up to the ceiling. Food was great. For breakfast, the hotel knew that I hated to look for small pin bones in the fish so intead the substituted it for stewed pork. The staff also performed one of the local legends after dinner, don't miss it. Overall, its a great hotel with excellent service.

We stayed for two consecutive nights as the night before and after climbing Kirishima. The reason for staying is that if you try to climb Kirishima by bus, you will have to take the first bus from Kokubun Station to Kirishima Onsen. The point was high that breakfast was available before the bus ride at 6:30. The hotel itself is behind the station opposite the ticket gate, but it is very convenient because there is a supermarket in front of you that is easy to use for shopping from the hotel. There is also an elevator on the bridge, so it will not be painful to move. Because it was used for consecutive nights, it was convenient because the clothes after the mountain climbing were washed and dryed in a free coin laundry. (Only detergent is sold separately) I rented a bicycle next to the front desk and moved to the nearby Hitoyama Onsen and soaked in the hot springs. Although this hotel has 3 floors, it is very rare as a business hotel and the rooms are provided on the 1 floor. Even more unusual was the indoor TV was a smart TV.
