We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was great and we enjoyed sitting by the fire before dinner. The was no restaurant open on our first night ( Monday) which would have been nice to know in advance.

If you are staying on property you drive down to the gate. Buzz the front desk and they will let you through to unload your bags. You will then park above the gate in the parking lot. We drove into town to eat dinner and pick up a couple of bottles of wine. Rooms were huge, clean, well kept.

The property is amazing and the room was very comfortable. English is spoken but we had a miscommunication with the staff (not quite enough detail) about the location of the on-site concert, which led to us missing about half of it before we finally found it. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was good but very drawn out. After three hours, our 11-year-old was pretty antsy. Breakfast was good.

This is a hotel that’s off the beaten track if you don’t have a car, but absolutely worth the effort to get there. Combine your stay with one of the events they hold and you are in for an excellent experience. We stayed overnight and was lucky enough to get on the Night Cave Tour. It’s an awesome event, followed by an very good dinner (I’m Vegan and can recommend the meal 100%). Treat yourself to the 80m2 Suite and Indulge. Advice: 1. Book far ahead as events fill quickly. 2. Construction began in 1148 before lifts were invented and the walls are thicker than an arm in some places…..therefore there is no lift. I repeat no Lift. There are plenty of manageable stairs. You have been warned.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was fine. the room was comfortable. Parking is easy but a bit of a walk and the signs to the hotel could be improved. I found it confusing to find the entrance during a heavy downpour. But the hotel met my needs very nicely and I do commend the staff who are wonderful.

We decided to stay at Burg Rabenstein for one evening in a trip around Germany, and it was well worth the stop. The castle and its grounds were beautiful. There is a local cave and falconry on-site; however, they were both closed for the winter (we visited in November). Even so, we were able to take advantage of the local hiking trails around the castle, which we thoroughly enjoyed. A free tour of the castle is included with your reservation booking, which was informative and enjoyable. The tour is in German. Hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and made our visit very enjoyable. The room was very large, clean, and offered a huge soaking tub. The room was a bit noisy - you could hear everything in the hallways and rooms above/below. However, that wouldn't deter us from visiting again. Breakfast was free and included a nice spread of meats, cheeses, granola, yogurt, various coffees, and eggs made to order. There was a dinner murder-mystery performance the night we stayed; however, it was already booked up. The concierge suggested two local restaurants, one of which was right down the road and had amazing food. Overall, we loved our visit and look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Germany.

This was one of the most unique authentic experiences we have had traveling. The Castle itself has not been updated to the common "format" of most of what you stay in and so for us that's a real plus.  We had the pleasure of going to a dinner accompanied w a quartet performing a jazzy Christmas concert. The food was amazing and the wine selection was really good. We are thinking that there is real high end restaurant experience there. There is a falconry on the property as well and we wish we had time to explore that. We will try to get back to the castle in the spring or summer...hopefully with some kids in tow as they apparently have some very kid friendly activities. In general the entire staff was delightful.  If someone is looking for the typical hotel experience this might not be for them but we adore it and God willing we will be back.
