At the time of reservation in July and re-confirmation 3 months later for a 3-day stay in early October 2021, a double room was booked on the condition that access and support amenities for a handicapped person would be available in the reserved room. At the arrival date, it turned out that none of these facilities were available! Aside from a meager excuse, the explanation provided by a person called by the name of Doris was that he thought that the room concerned disposed of these amenities! The room was immediately canceled but we were left behind at 17.00pm with the impossible task of finding another room for handicapped persons for the coming 3 days! Thank you very much, Mr. Doris for your great service and professionalism! Hence my view on this hotel: Never again!

Hotel geboekt om de files te vermijden tussen de twee dagen van de Sanicole Airshow in Hechtel-Eksel. Hoe moet ik het samenvatten.... een ouderwets hotel voor een ouderwetse prijs! Voor amper 85 euro voor een nacht van zaterdag op zondag met ontbijt, kan je je niet aan al te veel luxe verwachten! Het hotel is voorzien van een zwembad. 'Douchen alvorens te zwemmen' staat er aan de ingang. En het moet gezegd, deze douche is een beetje fris maar.... na het zwemmen lijkt hij net heel warm terwijl de temperatuur niet veranderd is. Maw het zwembad is niet verwarmd! Dus verwittig de kids voor ze er direct enthousiast in springen ;-). De infrastructuur is redelijk oud(erwets) maar zeer goed onderhouden. Alles was proper en verzorgd! De kamers zijn niet echt goed geïsoleerd. Dus voor de lichte slapers, denk aan oordopjes! Het ontbijt is basic, het essentiële is er maar zonder meer. Het hotel ligt in een mooie omgeving aan een visvijver. In de tuin van het hotel staat er een speeltuin met toestellen uit mijn jeugd, en ik ben toch al 47 jaar! Nostalgie dus :-). En ja, er werd aan mijn Ingewikkelde persoonlijkheid gedacht. In mijn éénpersoonskamer bleken er vijf bedden te staan, eentje voor elk stemmetje in mijn hoofd hahaa.

Hotel is prachtig gelegen, en er is veel leuks te zien in de omgeving qua natuur en landelijke pracht. Hotel is met alles voorzien, maar tevens ook gedateerd. veel houten stoelen in het restaurant, op de etages stoelen gegroepeerd als wachtzaalstoelen in een hospitaal etc…
