Echor - the Alpine Crest

I had checked in with my family on 23th June 2024. The hotel is not at all like shown in Echor Website. This is one of the first hotels of Echor and it appears that the photographs were taken when it was managed well, by competent staff, many years ago. Now it is managed by a bunch of local boys who are untrained and do not know anything about hotel industry. It is simply a 2 Star hotel, which is in highly unhygienic condition. Even the towels provided were filthy. I barely could spend one night, though had booked it for 2 nights. I have attached some pictures showing the current state of the hotel. Lasty, I am giving 1 star as there is no option for ZERO Star.

!!!! Families please keep away !!!! Great view....and that it. Dirty, unkept rooms. We did not even ask for an extra bed as the floor was so dirty. The bathroom smelled of sewage and was dirty as well. One of the guests was complaining of flooded bathroom. No ventilation, no fan and just 1 charging point ..the list goes on. Food was average and it took a lot of time for food to be served. They have a common terrace which was being used for partying by a bunch of bachelor's till 2am and they were sitting next to our room window and hotel management did not try to stop. Due to the common terrace we were not even comfortable to change in our rooms. Think of the trauma I had to go through with my wife and teenage daughter. In the morning it was littered with cigarette butts and beer bottles which management had not tried to clean till we checked out. On top of it the when I tried to talk to the staff they were so arrogant. As per them (Mr Aditya) bad reviews does not matter, we will always do business. !!!! Really Pathetic !!!!

I had booked a room for me and my family on 1st June. Hotel had a wonderful deck to have a look at the Kinnaur Kailash Mountain BUT hotel was not good on any other parameters. 1. My younger daughter was playing a small ball in the room and accidentally the ball went underneath the bed when I bent down to get the ball I WAS SHOCKED to see that it had Chip's empty packets, Empty Plastic Bottles, a lot of dust and insects beneath the bed. 2. At night I asked for Blanket for the extra bed that I took and they gave me a blanket which was stinking so I gave it back and asked for another one which they replaced it with another Stinky and Torn Blanket. I again asked them to replace it and few minutes later the person came back with the same blanket sprayed with perfume. 3. TVs were not working and when asked they simply said IT WON'T WORK. While sitting on the bed we could feel the dust on the bed's head that we had to clean it ourselves because they didn't respond to the dust on the furniture. 4. The towels that they provided were not only stinking but had stains on it too.... when I asked them to replace they said you use this one because all Towels are the same in the hotel. We just checked out of the Hotel without having bath. I had booked the hotel because it had a brand name Echor attached to it because Echor has another good hotel in Narkanda in Kinnaur Valley but after our stay I will never recommend Echor to anyone.

The hotel boasts of the best view of the Kinnaur Kailash range and its worth the money. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped, the food is absolutely delicious and special mention to Chef Thapa for creating mouthwatering Jain dishes on our special demand. The staff is courteous. However, there are some minor drawbacks which can be taken care of without much ado. The service is a bit lax which can be made more prompt. The bathroom of the cottage requires a bit of maintenance which can also be looked into. The hotel does not have proper parking facilities and driver accommodation which also is something that needs to be added sooner. Overall a nice memorable stay. Great work by Lalit and his team and looking forward to improved service on next visit.

Rooms and food both were awesome only goofed up was made instead of two premium room, we were alloted one premium and one standard room. So just double check on this rest rooms , view and food is just superb.

We stayed there for one night.. In the family room, costed us 5k (including brkfast) for 5 people.. There is a monastery in the Rogi village,at a walking distance from the hotel, a must visit preferably at 7am. Explore the village and the VIEW. Honestly speaking, I never had such a mesmerizing view from my room anywhere.. It is located in the best place, every penny is worth it..Nothing else to see as a side scene!! Just sit in the terrace and fall in love with the kinnaur view... Tip- try to reach there early, sunset is amazing there, the entire range is crystal clear whereas the sunrise is just against the kailash peak, so the range is completely shadowed.. Food is also nice.. Special thanks to Lalit Ji, for being an amazing host...
