My mistake in not verifying the lodge location. It was listed as being in Milford Sound when it is not. Management need to adjust the door closers for kitchen n dining room. Was kept awake til 11pm with the banging. When I gave feedback to the staff, was told I had booked the basic standard room.

Super favorite place! You can arrange to check in after Glenorchy. There is a lake view in front of you and the facilities are complete. It is ok for backpackers or families! The attached self-catering kitchen is large and their restaurant is super attentive. It is very comfortable to go in, the food is delicious and the staff is great. Very loving 🥰

Wow...I feel so chilled out. The views are to die for....so glad I took time out to visit a peace filled Haven. Great hosts too. A must visit. Beautiful place with stunning scenery. The place was needless to say immaculately kept. The Owners and the staff were all so helpful especially given the situation with the road to enter the place. Whilst the drive in and out may seem daunting at times if you want to go to Queenstown or other areas, it's still worth doing every time.. also a lot of the surrounding area was used for filming lord of the rings. Highly recommended

The most beautiful place... We stayed in the ecoscape pod. The views from our room was like a painting.. Totally breathtaking. The room itself outstanding, the bed was so comfy, shower was great. Movie screen to watch Netflix (we chose not to only because the view was so outstanding. Everything we needed was in our room. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Both meals were fabulous 10/10. absolutely delicious. The staff and owners were very attentive to everything we needed and so welcoming and friendly. We had the loveliest stay and would be back in a heartbeat. Definitely worth the trip. Over all we would rate our stay 11 out of 10. Thank you so much ❤️

Our unexpected adventure turned into a memorable experience thanks to the amazing team at Kinloch Wilderness Retreat. After being trapped by a fallen tree and forced to abandon our car, we arrived on foot just as another storm hit—only to find the lodge cut off on both sides by more fallen trees and flooding. Despite the chaos, the staff welcomed us warmly, quickly found us clean, cosy, and comfortable rooms, and provided a delicious dinner. They kept us informed throughout, and by 11am the next morning, both trees were cleared and we were able to continue our journey. The rooms, facilities, and stunning location were fantastic—even under such stressful circumstances. I would happily return again, hopefully in better weather!
