Checkin was done in advance on line, which resulted in an efficient handing over of the room keys and a quiet welcome from the receptionist/chef. Our room ( number 1) was spacious, bright and well appointed, although I’d have preferred a china cup for my tea/ coffee. On reflection I should have asked for one, but only thought of that now as I am writing this. Really liked the room service system, where the staff would only come on request. There are cards in the room which you complete if you need any extra tea, coffee, towels etc. We had both breakfast ( a preorder system, which worked perfectly) and dinner here every day of our 4 night break. Be warned, the full breakfast portions are huge, but looked amazing .Neither of us had the courage to try them, as it would have been a waste. The waiting staff were polite, efficient, and Liz on her duty mornings always had time for a friendly blether. We did have an issue with the TV in our room, which was annoying, but the hotel owners recompensed us with the most generous discount on our bill.
