One nights stay at the hotel as we were going to the New Theatre. Location wise the hotel was perfect, right around the corner and walking distance to the city centre and museums etc. Breakfast was hot but average- no butter on the toast and not offered either. Paid £12 per person for breakfast yet most choices on the menu came under £10. Room was clean yet compact. Due to being so small it became quite hot however has good air con so it cooled quickly. The tv placement on the side wall is not the best place to watch either. Overall it was a ok stay, however anything over 1 night I would probably choose another hotel.

The place has had a thorough make-over. Everything modernised in a good style. I slept well in a comfy bed. Staff were more than helpful. Excellent cooked breakfast. There were a couple of very minor snags (e.g. only one mug in the room) but I'm sure they'll be sorted in a week or two. There is a car park but it is hard to find. I missed it and parked in the multi-storey for £3 for 24 hours

First impressions if I’m honest were not great as car park felt very run down. On entering the hotel it felt like it was all shut. However the guy on reception was so nice and friendly that made me feel more comfortable and my room was very nice - as others have said, basically decorated/furnished, but the bed was SO comfortable and for once, in a hotel, I slept really well! Loved the bonus of aircon too! I will very likely use this hotel again!

The old Carmichael's department store is now a city centre hotel and as both my grandmas worked there it seemed an omen when looking for a hotel for a couple of nights whilst visiting Hull. We were not disappointed, centrally located everything was within walking distance. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. With a well appointed ensuite the room also had tea/coffee/ water & hairdryer. Staff were friendly and helpful and parking free. It's only been open since September and some reservations are still on going.

The hotel was very very good value for money,. I didn’t know what to expect really but I was very impressed with how clean the room was the bathroom was nice and spacious too, tea and coffee facilities were plentiful plus the room had a safe and TV, the decor of the room was a little plain but it had everything you needed. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful, it had free parking which was a real bonus and close enough to the centre of Hull it just took a couple of mins to walk in, will definitely stay there again with a doubt.

An odd place, it seemed dark and unfinished, with no other customers in site. The room was clean but the colour of bed and curtains didn't match the magnolia walls, so made it look cold and uninviting. It was practically empty and a bit eerie to be honest. I have to say it was clean and modern, and a good location, but not warm, welcoming, and with no atmosphere.

We stayed here for four nights and found this hotel met our needs very well. It offers basic but comfortable amenities, large rooms and an excellent central location. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are most accommodating. Be prepared to take your own toiletries, including soap and perhaps include extra coat -hangers in your luggage. If what you need is a basic, warm, comfortable, central hotel with a free car park then you will not beat this one.
