Residence Inn Kingston Water's Edge

I have a good feeling about the Marriott Homestay brand, mainly because the rooms are large, have simple stoves, and are good value for money. This one in Kingston is right on the waterfront, within a ten-minute walk of the cruise ship and the city hall, very convenient, and the service is good. Recommended.

The hotel may be a remodeled old hotel with antiques and a very nice restaurant. The breakfast was quite rich in a small restaurant contracted by Indians. In short, this hotel is quite cost-effective, and it feels like an old-fashioned star hotel that lives above Samsung.

Hotel facilities and services are good, the air conditioning heating sound is relatively large at night, a little affecting sleep.

Stayed at this hotel during both my daughters' graduations from Queen's since it was really close to the Leons Centre, where the ceremonies were held. -Hotel is very close to everything, walking distance to alot of restaurants and we were even able to walk to Queen's campus. -Breakfast was included and it came in take-out containers that we picked up in their cafeteria in the morning. It included a muffin, 2 boiled eggs, cheese, fruit and a juice. You could also order coffee or tea with it. -Hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. Only thing I did not like was that there were too many people hanging around the hotel steps during the day and night, not sure if they were transients or patrons staying at the hotel. -Parking was about $20 per day underground but you can also park across the street for much cheaper. Their underground parking was very limited but we always managed to get a parking spot every day. -Our hotel room was very clean, Yes it looked kind of dated but you can tell that they had made some renovations to it. We had a city view and it overlooked downtown Kingston. Had no issues with A/C. Bathroom had no vent so when we showered, the steam from the shower made our floor wet due to condensation I guess? -There was no housekeeping but they did change our towels daily. Overall, an average hotel and it served its purpose for our stay.

It's better than expected. It's just that I have to pay a deposit with a visa credit card. Cash is not acceptable. It's very troublesome. In the end, I can only ask a friend for help. But it's really close to the expressway entrance. The location is really OK.

first off we visited the hotel during the coronavirus pandemic so there were things that were shut down due to this. The pool was available two customers on a booking schedule so you would book it for 45 minutes and the pool was your entire families which I thought was an excellent idea. since the hot tub could contribute to coronavirus it was shut down that was understandable and since the water slide needed a lifeguard they shut it down so there wouldn't be life guards with your family do to Corona and that was understandable as well. The hotel is located ten feet away from a small outlet mall which my wife light as well there were many fast food in casual restaurants nearby. If you wanted to be downtown you had about a five minute or so drive so it was not as good as some of the resorts on the waterfront but it was significantly better price and the rooms were excellent. Each room had a nice TV microwave and fridge..and was very spacious they had walk-in showers instead of bathtubs which I thought was an excellent idea. one thing to know they did not have a coffee maker in the room due to coronavirus issues ETC. They did not have any included breakfast as well but I got an excellent price thank you to trip.com. and that easily made up for no breakfast. overall trip.com saved me easily 50 Canadian dollars a night so compared to a riverfront hotel over $125 per night was saved. I felt this was well worth the inconvenience of being a 5 minute drive from downtown... parking downtown with no issue and typically was 4 to $5 so even when you tag in the gas to drive downtown the parking and everything I still saved an incredible amount of money for this very nicely appointed hotel I would recommend trip.com hands down and I would recommend this hotel unless you absolutely needed to be right downtown.
