Easy to find, plenty of parking, quiet in reception,so checked in , and very friendly on reception next morning on checking out.We come here a couple of times in the year,we always choose this premier inn, town quite close and railway station nearby and a large Tesco opposite, great to grab snacks and petrol

Could have told me about the building work before letting me pay. Telling me the day before I arrived is poor. It doesn't give me a chance to so no. You should tell people this before making them pay. We were in room 311 which must have been next door or right above a room they were working in. Why put people in that room (and I am sure, others around 311). You will know where they were working at 8.30am on Friday morning. 8.30am is appalling to have been woken up to building work. I would never have stayed if I had known at the time and paid OVER £100 for a nights sleep, that you advertise as being as good as it gets. Very poor. STAFF AND ROOM WERE GOOD. The poor marking is for bad communication and spoiling our trip away.

A really nice Premier Inn in a great location. Loads of free parking, friendly staff and good rooms. We were given an upgrade to a Premier Plus room which was a nice touch too.

The hotel itself is really nice and very comfortable in the Premier Plus rooms. The on site restaurant let the place down though with a very limited menu and portion size. When I went to make my morning cup of tea I found that there was no normal or decaff tea so I had to get some from reception on my way back to the room from reception where I was told that for some unknown reason they are not provided in the Premier Plus rooms, so my advice to anyone who uses one of these rooms to pick them up when checking in.

We were informed in advance that the lift was out of order and the onsite restaurant was only open for breakfast during our 3 night stay neither of which affected us We had booked a premier plus room which was very clean spacious and the usual comfortable bed, fridge and walk in shower Check in was quickly done by two cheerful members of staff who said anything we want for the room - milk tea bags coffee replacement towels just ask for which we did without problems Yes there is refurbishment going on at the hotel but apart from a bit of banging after 9am there was no noise We were apprehensive after reading the reviews on here but found everything to be the usual premier inn standard and would not hesitate to stay here again

Hotel room & parking were great. I chose a premier room. TV good. Soundproofing good. Wifi good. Shower & bed good. All why still a reasonable score. The rest of the hotel was a disappointment. It was looking run down. Broken signage on the outside. Lift not working as broken with no sign of it being fixed. I pre paid for breakfast, before a long drive to Cornwall. On arriving, the restaurant was closed for the day. No warning given. Reception said I would be automatically refunded. I then wasn't. After trying to find a way to complain (Whitbread makes it hard to) I was refunded "as a good will gesture". Unbelievably bad service - nothing "good will" about it. I could return - the room was good. But it doesn't attract me to stay here, rather than other hotel options in the area.

Well I will start with the bad things first because thankfully there weren’t many. 1. There was one staff member (a young girl) in the restaurant who deemed it more appropriate to be on her phone to her friends rather than working. We also noticed she seemed to be either on her phone or outside with her vape pen. Not very professional. There was no offer from her of additional drinks, we were left to our own devices once we received our mains. 2. The restaurant menu was lacking. There are 5 options on the menu, and most of these weren’t even available because they had no food stock. We decided to go elsewhere for dinner on our second night. On the bright side, we really enjoyed breakfast and there were plenty of options of different juices and cereals as well as cooked food. However, the hotel side was much more positive. We paid for the early check in option and were greeted by a smiley woman on reception who explained everything about the cleaners not coming in unless we asked for them (which we didn’t need for only two nights) and that there was somebody available to help on the desk all day and all night. We really liked this as most Premier inns we stay at they only have machines to check you in. We had an issue with our air conditioning later in the evening which a nice gentleman on reception sorted for us quickly and efficiently. The room (we booked a premium room) was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the chocolates and water provided. It is our understanding that the hotel is due for some renovations soon which are desperately needed, particularly in the restaurant. The room itself was perfect but the common areas look worn and dated. Overall we had a good stay and were happy with the price we paid, but we do not recommend the restaurant and the teenagers running it.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!! This hotel is in dire need of maintenance and care. Here is a list of all the defects: - Lift not working (staff informed me it hasn't worked for 4 weeks). - Mould on the wall around the window in the bedroom. - Mould on the shower curtain (easily replaced). - Mould on the shower walls in between the tiles. - Mould behind the taps in the shower. - Mould around the soap dispensers, both in the shower and by the sink. - Sink would not drain (staff had to come and hit it with a hammer and screwdriver, the fact he has these handy at reception shows how often it happens). - Shower head broken and stained. - Huge black stain on the bed headboard (disgusting). - Floor filthy and worn down. - Multiple stains on every wall. Restaurant is shut in the evenings. Probably because they don't think it worth the money to open it and pay the staff. I have stayed in 20+ Premier Inn hotels and this is the absolute worst one I've ever stayed in. I appreciate it's probably not the busiest in terms of revenue but the filth in that hotel is absolutely disgusting. Not to mention mould is dangerous.
