We stayed in the premier plus room for the first time. It was spacious but could have done with a sofa to sit on. There is only one chair and a desk chair that is uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Shower was great, a large walk in shower though the water was slow to drain and concern it might overflow onto the bathroom floor. Reported but it will have to wait until the maintenance guy is next at the hotel. Mini fridge to store your own drinks and snacks if needed. Iron and ironing board provided. Bed was very comfortable and the blackout curtains worked great. The worst part and I would recommend not buying was the breakfast. The worst ever in any hotel we have stayed in. Breakfast was cold under heat lamps and friends had issues with under cooked pan au chocolates making them inedible. Not worth the money at all, it’ll be worth while popping across the road to Tescos and using their restaurant. Apart from that a lovely place to stay with a great view of the racecourse. Town is a sort distance by car.

Stayed her the other day and room was standard and nothing to complain about but nothing too exciting. What stood out to me was Callum. He was absolutely amazing and helpful, I will definitely return to this one again because of him. Keep up the good work

10/10 Beds comfy as always, bit of a leak from the bath in my room, but handled excellently by the lovely lady on reception called India , I really would recommend staying here to anyone looking in the area. Premier plus is great, and the updated rooms make it stand out from the rest of premiers line up.

Think Mr Whitbread needs to make some vast changes , firstly by listening / reading to the poor reviews from disgruntled customers and staff . Regularly stay prem inn in south west .Days of the inexpensive pricing for a budget hotel are well and truly over . £100 plus a night for a below par hotel . Thankfully the reception staff at this hotel are helpful and do listen . Booked food for 8pm at the restaurant next door (used to be a beefeater) .. arrived and was told to wait on entering by one of the staff .. came back 3 mins later to say that the chef ( think he meant the person that can operate the microwave) had gone and no one else was available to set the timer.. So what do I do for food ? Dunno .. so a refund will be sorted . Not good enough Whitbread even if the restaurant is going thru a takeover i think it’s up to you to sort staffing and making sure your paying customers are looked after. I’ve stayed at this hotel most months for the last 12 years , maybe it’s time an independent hotel close by will be happy with a regular customer and £100 plus per night . Before it’s too late , maybe just maybe read reviews and listen to those that work for you , because this hotel and restaurant certainly isn’t working for you now.

I’ve never stayed in such a grotty Premier Inn and the only positive is the car park. - Aesthetically it’s dirty, aged and urgently needs some TLC - Reception told me all tables were booked for dinner, but I walked over and the restaurant was literally empty (and they seated and served me with no issues). - They sell meal plans - but beware, there is literally about 5 options of dinners. The food is poor quality and served by a chef who could be heard constantly moaning at colleagues for ‘touching his tickets’. - The restaurant is grubby, sticky and just a bit gross (perhaps why it was empty!) - My specific room was grubby and aged, it looked and smelt like a nursing home. The bathroom had a leak and was so badly stained with brown. I’m trying hard to forget that image to be honest. I have basically spent the stay trying not to let any part of my body touch the bedding, hovered when using the toilet and didn’t use the shower through fear of feeling dirtier. My advice - pay slightly more and go somewhere cleaner! …unless a spacious car park is your priority which this one nails. Do better premier inn!

Lovely staff. Bed comfortable. Mould in the bathroom - on ceiling and shower curtain. Window doesn’t open. Puffy eyes, possible due to lack of fresh air. Unusually, this PI runs its own restaurant. Breakfast in the first morning was decent with good service. Although, on the second morning the only chef on the rota, phoned in sick. Therefore, we had tea and toast for breakfast. Tesco opposite if stuck. The dinner was awful!!!

The bed was comfy, the room was basic but this was expected. The restaurant served microwave food and offered no fresh food. The linguine dish was supposed to come with fresh rocket but it was served with none. The chicken curry was full of gristle. At breakfast the coffee machine was broken and the chef didn’t arrive for work so there was no cooked breakfast on offer. The alternative option was at best very poor and offered nothing healthy.

Ok, so we booked into the hotel, and honestly, we’re yet to actually sleep. I’m writing this from the most calamitous, awful disgusting restaurant I’ve ever been in. Everything is microwaved. Staff turning folk away, who are staying in the hotel, because they just want a drink. Drinks: they ONLY have Coors or Moretti on tap, and they are charging nearly £6 a pint. Food is awful. Very restricted menu, based on the capacity within the microwave, and only £13 a meal (thereabouts). Staff clueless, slightly rude and confrontational, unhelpful. Seriously - AVOID at all costs!!! This is like a modern day Faulty Towers. Please avoid to protect your sanity!

We stayed here for one night on a short weekend get away and booked a premier plus room. Room was standard size with upgrades off Coffee maker, which my partber loved, selection of flavoured teabags, mini fridge which is great for putting your own drinks and treats in but the best bit was the walk in shower. Staff at the hotel were Lovely and made great recommendation for dinner as there restuarant was closed for a few nights. The hotels maybe 10min drive from the high street which has easy parking and large selection off restuarants. Theres a tesco directly opposite the hotel and also a small retail park for shopping. We would definetly stay again.
