What a find. Staying in St Andrews and visiting the distillery - looked online for lunch and found this little gem. Quality food at a very reasonable price. Service was spot on. Restaurant very small so book to avoid disappointment. There’s also a lovely beer garden if the weather allows. Can’t wait to return.

Excellant location, stayed for a couple of nights over New Year 2025. Food was 10/10, room was a little cold, the Inn does not have double glazing, there are radiators in the room but they are under the windows, apart from that I would recommend the Inn for a short break.

Our friends booked our ‘Christmas lunch” We are all fairly local and we are delighted to say what a lovely lunch we had. Not a traditional Xmas lunch( our choice). The starters were very freshly prepared and presented beautifully on HOT plates. Three had traditional turkey and one had salmon. The presentation was excellent and the quality was tip top. We were all too full for pudding ….. The service was attentive and efficient. All in all a very good lunch and I would not hesitate to recommend. Top tip. Book in advance as this is going to be busy once word gets around.

On a rainy day in Kingsbarns we had a lovely lunch in the cosy snug at the Inn at Kingsbarns. We both had an excellent soup and paninis with a side of chips to warm us up. Desserts and coffees too. The food , service and ambience were all excellent. Compliments to the new team at the Inn.

Following a 19km walk from Anstruther, an icy cold beer & locally sourced food sounded brilliant. We were staying locally, so the venue is perfect. Local beers in the sunshine great, chilli con carne tasty, but fajitas swimming in oil unpleasant. Yes for drinks, dinner not so much.

I had waited so long to visit The Inn at Kingsbarns, I have been tracing back my family tree and my family come from Kingsbarns so this has been a long awaited visit for me as I am not local to the area. I had wanted to book an overnight stay but was told when I phoned a couple of weeks before that during July and August I would have to book a minimum of 2 nights and at £150 a night, that's pretty pricey so I decided against it. We had a lovely meal, our waiter was attentive and helpful, the food was good. The waiting staff were really lovely. No complaints there. However, it was the manager who absolutely ruined our visit. There was a young family in the restaurant, the 2 small children were beautifully behaved and utilising the games provided by the pub. However, we witnessed the manager 'rip into' the family for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than the children had dropped a game on the floor (which was being picked up by said children). It was quite distressing and to be honest, totally unnecessary. I don't understand why the pub provide games for children when they clearly irritate the owners. All rather bizarre and actually upsetting to witness. Not what you expect when you are just going for a pub meal! There is a lot more I could say about this incident and how rude the manager was but, having read his responses to people who criticise his establishment, I think it would just go over his head. I do hope that the manager responds by publicly apologising to the family we witnessed him 'ripping into' for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I think it's the least he can do.

My principle is simple, give the owner the chance if you have not had a good eating out experience before letting anyone else know! In this instance foru emails were sent to the address on the website given for bookings. The first was acknowledged with the suggestion that any concern should have been discussed on the visit (the long, long waits had left three under tens far from happy! The alternative was the following morning whien the Inn's barman and the owner had been more than helpful in providing jump leads. Both occasions were simply not suitable. A detailed and sympathetic note was sent with followed up emails...none of which met with any reply. In response to previous comments it is noted that the owner advise fo their 30 years experience ....perhaps they have now simply lost the plot! Ok I made an initial mistake in booking for 5 and not for 6 therefore we were left to the land that time forgot...namely the dining room as opposed to the cosier bar. We had hardly been seated and witout menus when we heard the call "Drinks" No suggestion was given of the soup of the day. No indication of the specials we later found to be available! Then for the cabaret.....on 11 occasions a young chef ran from end to end of the dining room....with no explanation given! Starters were received 45 minutes after ordering ...the main course the same. In both instances the waitress barked the dishes by name and expected a response even with one main still to be served and one dish in her hand she announced, "Lasagne" which turned out to be an unacceptable tasteless disaster! The food, admittedly, otherwise was acceptable. Plates were uncollected until the owner arrived and when she did so her displeasure was made obvious at the childrens' having played with the games provided.....they had to do something to fill in the unacceptable wait for food Our previous experience at the location had been excellent hence the repeat visit but this was far from acceptable

Had a table booked for 8pm-didn't get a menu until 8.45. Then waited another 30 mins for food, which sadly was not worth the wait. Staff were apologetic saying they were vey busy. Other tables had some food delivered incorrectly, and then had to wait some time for his to be corrected. Nothing wrong with food as such but fairly mediocre. Won't be rushing back anytime soon.
