Amazing 4 day 3 night stay, highly recommend and I would return again. The staff were very friendly, approachable and helpful. The location is isolated from the other homestays/resorts so it's very peaceful and tranquil. Our guide Andis was very knowledgeable and amazing at spotting wildlife. We saw more animals than I imagined (hornbills, male orangutan, kingfishers, proboscis monkeys, silvery langur monkeys, crocodiles, eagles, flying squirrel, banded linsang, stink badger, fireflies etc). The cabins are very spacious, clean and comfortable. They have a great outdoor shower!

An excellent place to discovered Borneo's wildlife, so many key species. Best time to go is from february until November. If you can, better avoid when it's raining season and the river is flooded, but even then, there are always beautiful wildlife to see.

We recently stayed for two nights and wish we could have done longer. Our lodge was lovely, very comfortable. Aircon worked well and there was plenty of room. It was lovely to look straight out of the large picture window at the jungle. The large dining room worked well. Meals were all buffet style and food was ok - lots of rice and meat/veg. The morning and evening boat rides were fantastic. It was great to be on the river and close to the nature. Great to see the lightning storm rolling in the distance. We saw lots of mammals, birds and reptiles. We also enjoyed the nightwalk on the boardwalk.

We had the pleasure of staying at this amazing resort for 2 ngts. From start to finish everything was absolutely perfect from the gorgeous secluded accommodation to all the staff, plus fabulous food. Our guide JR was so knowledgeable & passionate & fabulous at spotting wildlife & we managed to see Proboscis monkeys, crocodile's, rhinoceros hornbills , fireflies & various other birds. Truly exceeded expectations & would love to return one day !

Spent 2 nights here. Did 4 river trips; afternoon, evening, dawn, night and also a night walk. Excellent guides (Dido and JR) ensured that we saw lots of wildlife. Orangutans, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, crocodiles. fireflies and more. Great food. Great staff. Nice accommodation.

The resort is in an isolated river side jungle location with an abundance of wildlife. A board walk around the resort alloslws you to safely explore the jungle. The chalets are really beautiful and well maintained. The restaurant and reception are equally lovely. There is plenty of food and it is very varied and delicious. Our guide Omar was amazing. We saw so much incredible wildlife including a male orangutan and a mother and baby. Also hornbill, macaque, probscis monkeys and a flying lemur. We would definitely go again.

One of the most stunning places I’ve visited! The arrival at the lodge on boat through the palms was incredible. The wildlife spotting both on water and on the jungle night walk was brilliant. We saw orangutan, proboscis, huge saltwater crocs to name a few. Staff service and food was great and bedroom villas are super! It’s so humid in the jungle clothes take ages to dry so take plenty!

Beautiful resort, with nice separated chalets. Each with their own view at the wetlands/forest. Very friendly staff. We booked private boat tours and so we could see the elephants and orang-oetans. Thank you Mex and Basri (I hope I spell your names correct) We can definitely recommend this place.

We had a wonderful experience staying here and visiting the Kinabatangan river on the multiple river cruises. We were under the care of Max for our stay and he was an amazing guide and a funny guy. He (and the boat captain) has an incredible eye for spotting wildlife and we did see most everything people come here to see (except the elephants). He took us a special trip the other direction on the river the last night because he "had an idea" and it turned out that was when we spotted an orangutan in the palms. We sat and watched it for about 30 minutes, it was really special. The food was good and the rooms are very nice in a great location. This section of the river is very quiet so we rarely saw other boats when cruising around. We also saw lots of wildlife just around the lodge and the night walk around the boardwalk was nice. Our kids (ages 9 and 12) really loved this place and being able to spot all the wildlife, so much in fact that they weren't interested in visiting Labuk Bay afterwards and only stayed briefly at the Sepilok Orangutan RC. Nothing but positives for KWR, would highly recommend for anyone in the area!
