We really enjoy their hot spring, especially the sauna. For dinner and breakfast, there is a wide variety of choices, and you won't be disappointed. However, one downside is that they don't speak English, which can be a challenge.

Compared to Itoen Hotel (a typical hotel), the facilities are one rank higher, the accommodation fee is roughly 1.5 times higher, the buffet (food) content is almost the same (alcohol is charged so that may be a minus), the room and bath are excellent (cleanliness and water temperature), and the staff were friendly. The surrounding scenery is mountain after mountain with many cedar forests, so it's not rich in nature, and the scenery isn't that great either. There are walking paths, but the staff didn't recommend them, but it was winter so it wasn't a problem. In summer, you might encounter mosquitoes or animals.
