My husband and I returned to Carrig house for a weekend of the best Irish hospitality and amazing culinary experience. From the moment you step into Carrig, the relaxation begins. A warm welcome by Kevin to begin with. It is always so nice to check in, the warmth, professionalism and wonderful customer service you experience. Beautifully appointed rooms with spectacular lake views, very comfortable and warm. The food is amazing at Carrig, Patricia Teahan, head chef is so talented. She and her team have created wonderful dishes with local ingredients and everything is a taste sensation. We are always so well looked after by Teresa and Tracey who continually provide amazing service. Frank, Mary and Clare have created a wonderful retreat and you will want to return again and again. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

A Truly Unique Stay at a Beautiful Victorian BnB Staying at Carrig house was an unforgettable experience. The property is beautifully cared for and retains all the charm of its original Victorian style. Every detail has been thoughtfully maintained, making it feel like stepping back in time—but with all the modern comforts. The wifi was comfortable at 135 mbps. The personalized touch made us feel like close family friends rather than just guests. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful recommendations. The owners Frank and Mary would go over the dinner menu and while we enjoyed a pre dinner drink and in one of the diffent themed parlour rooms. We were then brought to the main dining room with a stunning lakeside view just as the sun set paints the lake view with natural warmth of the setting sun. We enjoyed a delicious meal featuring local Kerry lamb and fish freshly caught from the lake, providing an authentic taste of the region. It was a true local experience that made our visit feel even more special. We stayed here for 2 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and comfort of the home. If you're looking for a charming, one-of-a-kind stay with a touch of history and plenty of personal attention, I highly recommend Carrig country house and restaurant.

A fabulous country home with great service. Wonderful views across the lake ( but without access to trails around it). Ideally located to explore the Dingle peninsula and Ring of Kerry. While we loved our accommodation and enjoyed the meals, we thought it was very expensive compared to other country houses we have stayed in.

This was my second time staying at the Carrig, both times with Backroads Travel. The peace and calm of this lovely waterfront lodging was perfect after a day of hiking. Mary and Frank are so welcoming and the staff is great too. The room are cozy and each one is different. The grounds are beautiful.

My husband and I recently returned to Carrig House and it is such a wonderful treat. It is no wonder that we return again and again. Once you step inside the beautiful property, the warmth and hospitality you experience is exceptional. The focus on customer service is across all areas of the business. We always feel so welcome and this time was no exception as we were greeted warmly by Claire and Kevin. The rooms are beautifully appointed and a place of retreat. The food at Carrig House is outstanding and consistently exceeds expectation. The chef Patricia Teahan is incredibly talented and uses the finest local ingredients to produce dishes with the most amazing flavours and beautifully presented. Teresa and Tracey look after everyone very well in the dining room and they are always friendly and professional. The team at Carrig is amazing and all those behind the scenes are also making a big impact. Frank and Mary always make time to chat and give advice on the wonderful menu, while Peter also ensured we were being taken care of. Siobhan looked after us on check out and always friendly and professional. We highly recommend visiting this oasis and ensure to also include dinner as it is a real treat.

Having much admired the dining experience at Carrig House for a very long time, we took the plunge and availed of two night break/ dining in a lake view room. We were thrilled with our experience. The hosts and team are really friendly & professional. We had the most wonderful deep sleeps, excellent mattresses and high cotton count sheets. The decor was lovely, antique furniture blending seamlessly to the feel of a boutique country house hotel. The spectacular lake view was so peaceful and ever changing, you couldn't possibly not rest and unwind. There are many small reception rooms in the hotel to relax, have a drink or read, We particularly loved the gardens and lake access from them. Only disappointed that I didn't take a swim before breakfast. The food is really exceptional, we tried everything we could over the two nights, and we were delighted by the fresh, inventive & delicious courses. If your holiday requires high speed broad band ,flat screen TV's ,lively bar etc, this isn't the place for you. However, if comfort, relaxation and fine dining are important to you, this is the prefect place to unwind and explore the Kingdom of Kerry.

My husband and I recently returned to Carrig house as it is one of our favourite places. We cannot speak highly enough of Carrig, the amazing team and outstanding food and service. A warm welcome always greets you on arrival and we were immediately feeling at home as Siobhán looked after us as always. This property has a relaxing feel with beautifully appointed rooms, we like the lake view too. The service is outstanding and Claire & Kevin make all guests feel welcome. The food at Carrig is consistently excellent and chef Patricia Teahan has amazing talent. We were delighted to meet her and give her our positive feedback. The combination of flavours, fresh local produce and menu choice is a delight. We are always well looked after by Teresa and Tracey and they look after everyone so well. We met Emma at breakfast being trained in by Teresa and doing a great job too. There is such a great vibe in this property and the team is simply fabulous. We are also looking forward to catching up with Frank & Mary on our next visit. They have laid the foundation for this wonderful business.

This hotel was part of a 8 day visit to Southern Ireland We had taken the hotel out of a Kirker brochure that recommended the hotel, though we had booked the hotel ourselves Having used this holiday firm for a number of holidays abroad and had a good experience,we thought we were on to a winner, how wrong . From the outside you thing Country house which it is , with lovely grounds On being shown to our room the first thing we noticed, how run down it looked. The furniture is out of the 1950s and the chairs we sat on were very badly marked The room had been decorated but nothing else had been touched. One of the bulbs in the main light did not work It quite obvious no money has been spent on the room for a number of years The bathroom is awful, the shower cubicle is so small that getting in and out of the shower is extremely difficult and I might add that I am not over weight. It says it has a view of the lake and mountain but all we could see was a very overgrown tree that needed some serious pruning . What I found out from looking through the rest of the comments on this site that someone else had complained in 2012 about the state of the room and the tree!!!! The whole room lacked any attention to detail and how the owners think in 2022 this is okay since complaints had been made in 2012, which is 10 years ago I find unbelievable. We arrived in the afternoon of the announcement that Queen Elizabeth had died so thought we would like to catch up on the TV to realise no television in the room. When I went to inquire why, I was shown to a room further down the corridor and told this was the television room for all people staying in the hotel. What a strange set up,having visited all over the world to find I had to share my TV viewing with rest of the hotel. The TV room was small so would not house all the occupants of the hotel. Though I did not stay to find out if it was going to be used I was not sure if anyone else would want to watch, what we wanted to look at, so finished up watching the news on our phones for the next three days It's a wonder we did not finish up with eye strain.Though we are not great TV watchers we personally wanted to catch up with the news in our country, as history was being made. The food on the three night stay was good and obviously this is were the hotel is investing it's money and time. Not too sure about the plastic table cloths but perhaps because of COVID it was easy to clean. On paying the bill my husband was asked if everything was okay and when he pointed out we had no tea making facilities to make a cup of tea was told, all we had to do was ask for a kettle Surely this should be part of what is suppose to be in the room. What I found even more bizarre on returning from holiday to find a message on my answer phone the night before of our arrival at the hotel wanting to know what time did we want our evening meal.Surely they must have known looking at the number that we lived in England!!!! I did wonder wh

Our evening was a tribute to the memory of two very close people whose Birthdays occur this weekend but sadly they have departed this world. There is a sense of calm and peace on arrival. The restaurant was busy but very well managed. The choice of food was great and our selection from the menu was superb. Compliments to all The Team at Carrig House.A true gem on our doorstep-not to be missed. Thank You
