Very disappointing, customer service is appalling . Paid through the nose for an overnight stay which cost the same as a city break arrived had dinner went for a drink in the bar only to sit down decide what we wanted to drink and then sat up and jagged staples in the chair to catch me cut my side and top . Spoke to the bar manager who said apologies we will replace your polo shirt ( which was a designer long sleeve and he acknowledged was not cheap ) a few messages a false promises my email saying the refund would be sent and we are now 6 months later . To have furniture like this on the premises and charge €565 for a nights stay is negligible, the kicker really is though that I had to chase for responses felt like I was lead down the garden path until I go away . This could also have been a lot worse if I had grabbed the chair by the hand or if I child was sitting there , feel let down by the whole experience

Overpriced. Breakfast and service are terrible. Reception welcome was seriously lacking. We were given no information and could feel her annoyance when we asked to split the bill between 3 of us. Service was awful, the staff are so inexperienced and there's no manager to give guidance or direction. Waitresses unable to open a bottle of wine. To be fair at dinner, the starters and main course were delicious, dessert wasn't great, but it was edible. Vegan food wasn't good for dinner or breakfast. We were then overcharged for dinner, but were given complimentary drinks to apologize. Wait times for food and drinks are extremely slow. My sister sat on a very broken chair in the bar. Again some bar staff were extremely inexperienced, had to tell one person more than 3 times the drinks order for 3 people. One man was fab, dropping drinks to the table, but this level of service depending upon who served you. Breakfast was awful, wait times -really slow, we left 2 full plates of food behind us and not one member of staff asked if everything was ok, which I would expect to be normal practice. I got the eggs Benedict, which I love, but there was way too much ham, eggs were undercooked and the sauce was tasteless. My sister is vegan and didn't enjoy her breakfast either. Had to ask 3 times for a coffee before being served. The walls in the rooms are paper thin, you can hear people in the rooms beside you, so this could potentially be a massive issue. We could hear someone snoring from another room, which was quite annoying. One pillow in the room was stained, which wasn't pleasant. Patio area outside of our room, which you couldn't access from the room. Internet connection is slow and non existent in some parts of the hotel. Overall, decor is charming and location is beautiful, but it's way overpriced. I would not be returning.

I love, love, love Glasson Lakehouse, I have been at least a dozen times since it opened. The rooms are beautiful, the lakeside setting sublime, you can’t beat sitting out on your own little patio with a glass of bubbly & some chocolate coated strawberries, thanks for the lovely room Laura. I love the outdoor tubs & the friendly chats with Greg, my early morning swims in the pool & the walks down to the lake. Dinner is always wonderful, ditto night caps in the bar and I always book a treatment in the spa with Susan, the Tóg go Bog ritual is superb and sets me up for the journey home.

Didn't know what to expect as our travel agent had booked all our hotels on our Ireland driving tour. This was a stunning find. Huge rooms, with quirky additions (Rega record player), comfy beds and beautifully quiet all the time. Full Irish Breakfast was the best of our 10 days. Plenty of dining locations but I take the point of another reviewer who said some more simple options should be provided. Staff were unfailingly helpful and we couldn't fault it.

My 3rd trip back to Glasson! My previous 2 trips were so enjoyable, this one however not so much. I found a lot of changes this time, Very disappointed to see Toms pub not serving the original menu they use to. Instead you can only dine in Bonnie’s and it doesn’t suit everyone’s taste and budget. The pub had a great casual dining menu. I was also disappointed at the increased cost of the spa menu. I had a treatment which was lovely but coming in at €140 for a massage where you don’t get use of a thermal suite is steep in my opinion. Thanks

Nice rustic hotel by the lake. The grounds are beautiful, including the 18-hole golf course. The room was clean, equipped with a Remington hair dryer and straightener, a gramophone, Netflix and lots of snacks and drinks. Check-in is at 4 pm, which is a little late. We had lunch around 1 pm and waited for the room until 4 pm, although we were told that the room would be ready earlier and that they would notify us by phone, but they didn't. Hot tubs are slightly overpriced. 40€ for 1 hour where the water could have been hotter, also there's 0 privacy since the tubs are very close to each other, with no screens. The gent who was in charge of the tubs was talking to another couple and the whole experience wasn't very relaxing for us. The hotel has only one restaurant with a limited menu, also a bit overpriced. We ordered an espresso for breakfast, we were told it was not included in the B&B price and we would have to pay for it, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the coffee tasted like regular filtered coffee, not the one from the coffee machine. We waited 35 minutes for the food and it came half cold. No one checked our table. Lunch on both days was average, we ordered starter and main course, but we got everything at the same time. The salt and pepper were empty. Again no one checked on our table. The food for dinner was amazing, the beef cheek and steak were out of this world. Compliments to the chefs who were in charge for dinner service! Floor service was very slow, waiting 15 minutes for a glass of wine is too much. In the middle of our mains, all the young staff were gone and an older gentleman took the service into his own hands, checked on us twice and also on every other table and showed his professionalism. Tom's bar is a nice place to enjoy a drink after dinner, but it lacks a bit of music for a better atmosphere. The hotel itself is nice and cozy, but there are many young inexperienced staff who clearly need training on how to provide the best possible service to their guests.
