Dropped in past for lunch on our way over to Dunoon, parked in the Customer car park, shocked to get a letter a week later charging us £100 (£60 if we pay straight away) for parking, notices are woeful but it seems you have to register your vehicle at reception to park, we were unaware of this and bar staff did not mention it (deliberately ? informed by owner not too ?). Avoid the place, many many complaints like this on here, I should imagine this is driving DOWN visitors to Killin and other businesses will suffer because of it, how sad for hard working other shop keepers to have this stain on their village

After spending a fantastic weekend with friends at a near by lodge, we decided to have one last coffee before we went our seperate ways. We were last to join the group as we had to dash back to the lodge, the rain was pelting down when we arrived so parked up beside the three other cars. Like others a few days after our return a parking fine arrived,l was totally gobsmacked as our friends had spent a lot of money in the coffee shop and smokery, and we had been treated to ours so were never asked our number plate. When l asked the rest of the group if they had received fines they then realised they had been asked for numberplate s but staff never explaned why, they all agreed had they not been asked they would never have noticed the signage at the entrance. Falls of Dochart Inn, please read these reviews and act before your business goes down the falls. Will we return, not a chance.

Nice place, but I was shocked to receive a £60 fine for parking at the hotel while we enjoyed a meal inside. Very poor signage, if any. A good experience spoiled. Disappointing overall. Not recommended for drinks (expensive). Beware of hidden charges.

Cannot recommend. Tourist trap with the car park. Looks like a welcoming car park for customers of the Inn. 10 days after use you receive a parking fine £100 or £60 if paid immediately. The place must make a fortune. Disgraceful! In addition the telephone is not answered as mentioned in an earlier review

We have been trying to get in touch with Falls of Dochart Inn for more than a week now. We stayed for two nights and staff entered our registration number in the Parkingeye system that monitors their parkinglot and assured us we would not get fined. We have now been fined a £100 and an additional administration fee of £40 from the rental car company - and Falls of Dochart Inn does not answer phonecalls or any of their mail addresses. Looking at Tripadvisor we are not the only ones. So my advice to all who are thinking of a visit here must now be - don’t. Not as long as they seem to be making a little extra income on the side from fining their customer with the help of Parkingeye. And the saddest part of this is that we came here in 2023 and fell in love with the place. The staff were well meaning and nice but everything was slightly Fawlty Towers and all was kept together by ”Polly” - and we loved it. So it is very sad indeed to write this review.

I am disgusted with this hotel. I booked a room here with a view of the falls. I received no feedback to confirm this booking. Due to personal circumstances, I had to cancel this booking the next day. After many attempts, there was no answer on the phone number given for the inn. I emailed twice to cancel this booking, again no response but both the deposit and full booking price were taken from my account. I’ve tried to call and still no answer. Will also email them ,again, to request my money back but very unimpressed with rhem

We and another couple stayed at this hotel for 1 night in August. Staff were nice, but like others here, we found the accommodation small, basic and not well cleaned. Rooms are far too pricey for what you get. Worst of all though, despite validating our and our friends' cars at the bar on arrival, again at check in and leaving the car park 45 mins before check out time the next morning, we've both received £100 parking charge notices from Parkingeye. For parking in the car park attached to the hotel that we were staying in! Again like others, phoning and emailing the hotel for help to get these charges cancelled has been met with absolutely no reply whatsoever, which is an absolute disgrace. The management and owners should be ashamed of themselves. They're not just jeopardising their business but the livelihood of their staff. I for one will not book a room there again and neither should you.

We stayed in one of their cottages 3 years ago and decided to return based on that experience for a 2 night break. Sadly it has gone downhill rapidly. We were checked in by young gentleman who was not interested. We asked about the new car parking charges but he did not know how they applied to overnight guests. He did not bother to find out and we had to ask another member of staff. He took us up to our room, went through a door into a corridor for rooms 1 - 3. The carpet was filthy, walls were all marked and there was an overpowering smell of old cooking oil. (The fire exit door was jammed open and this was above the kitchen. I closed the door when heading out for dinner but it was jammed open again on our return). The room was not any better, the cooking oil smell was just as bad and the room had not been cleaned properly. We asked if this was the correct room and he just walked off!! On further inspection we found a dirty bath mat stuck behind the toilet and a jelly baby sweet on the bathroom floor. As we had already had a drink at the bar before checking in we had no option but to stay. After breakfast when we told the young waiter that we were not staying a 2nd night due to the cooking oil smell he asked which room we were in. On telling him it was room 2 he just nodded his head and said "oh yes." It was obvious we were not the only people to complain about the smell. There was no one in charge to speak to about our complaint. We emailed 4 times about our the state of the room but never got a reply.

The room overlooking the parking was ‘cosy’ = small and quiet. Absolutely fine. Plenty of tea / coffee / milk / biscuits. No plug for sink? Very dirty carpet in hallway outside rooms. Food and service at Dinner was very good. Throughly enjoyed and would recommend. Breakfast was not good. Sausages were the worst ever. Ingredients all dry as if they had been under the warmer for some time. We did arrive 2 minutes late for Breakfast so, perhaps this was the problem? Definitely not cooked upon arrival. Pre cooked. Might have given 4 stars if Breakfast and its service had been considerably better. Lovely lady serving at the attached Smokehouse. Will look elsewhere next time.
